Courtyard by Marriott Waterbury Downtown

I was attending a prep school reunion not far from Waterbury and booked a room at the Marriott Courtyard. It was not expensive, so I didn't expect much. But the accommodations had virtually all the comforts and amenities of a first class hotel: glass glasses in the room, a coffee maker, ice near my room, desk, armchair, etc. And the shower was amazing: huge walk-in with incredibly easy to use shower head (no minutes-long puzzling over how to get hot water). Also free newspapers in the lobby. Recommended without any reservations.

Checkin.. I told her i'm a platinum member, and she only said u wouldn't get a point. I told her I knew that, but she didn't want to put my number in. The checkin process took a long time. She even slammed drawer while I was checking in. It was already late 11 PM at night. I didn't get the platinum welcome or benefit I should be getting. On check out, I was in a rush and left a small pillow and 2 dolls for my daughter. I know i left it on the bed. I called before 5PM, someone promised to call me back. none did. I called again at 6PM she said house keeping is closed called in the morning at 8:30AM. I called the next day@ 8:30 am got a voice mail. I called again at 9 and pushed the operator to chase these people. and finally after about 2 hours. they got back to me and couldn't find anything. So not only they don't treat me as a platinum member, or a normal guest. They're lazy in getting back to customer, and someone in housekeeping either took it or threw it away. It has sentimental value for my kid and I had to chase them for two days.

staff members were excellent, one went out of her way to help us find a ride to a wedding we had in town. great hotel

It was family trip and we stopped by for a night on the way to different location. The staff were very friendly, but the hotel itself was nothing fancy.

Was in town for a wedding and this hotel was recommended. Its ok enough, nothing too special, but not horrible.

There had been an incident at the hotel prior to our arrival where a guest had activated a sprinkler and flooded a few floors. Before we even checked in, we were told about this and that our stay would be comped, even if the carpet wasn't that wet (which it wasn't). Staff was friendly, attentive, and some of the best staff I've ever stayed with.

Hotel staff was great and helpful. This hotel is not only clean but it has great service. It was located in the perfect area to take my son to college and located near a lot of restaurants. I would definitely stay here again:)

Not a great value for the price. Beds are not very comfortable. Staff is great but was expecting more from the the room for what was paid.

We were going to nearby Waterbury and did not know where to stay. We chose Courtyard Waterbury for the location. Location wise this property is very closed to freeway and workout perfectly for us. The rooms were renovated, but air conditioning was outdated which was very noisy, doors were banged up, and did not appear so up to date in the hallways. The sfaff were friendly. The hotel itself was not special but served the purpose for one night.

Compared to most of the hotels in the Waterbury area, this hotel does a pretty good job of keeping the place clean and relatively comfortable. It's probably the best bet around Waterbury.

The staff was very polite and helpful. Room was clean, but carpets were showing their age. Just nothing special!

It was great and comfortable. Very surprised at how nice it was considering its in Waterbury.

My stay was nice. Wish there was a microwave and fridge in the room. Didnt know you can ask for them apon request.

It was my wife, 8 yr old son and I visiting Lake Compounce from NY and chose to stay at this hotel. The hotel staff were really nice and did their very best to meet my accomodations. The beds were real comfortable, even the pull out sofa was pretty comfortable too. The clean room and service was great. The best part of the stay was the breadfast buffet, mmmmm. Eggs made to order, only if you ask and you can even make your own waffles. Now, the pool and the jacuzzi could've been a little bigger but what are you gonna do.

Location was perfect, room very clean, pool and jacuzzi a treat. Free internet and parking; thank you! Between 9pm-12am,ten to fifteen sirens, either from police, fire or ambulances went by. I was on the 8th floor, but it was loud. Once I actually fell asleep, though, it either stopped or I was too comfortable to hear it. Overall, definitely worth it.

Stayed two nights for an event in Torrington, CT. Room was clean and spacious. The shower head didn't work very well. Though it was a bit expensive for the location and amenities.

Loved the hotel [...].Great hotel [...]

Pool Spa was a "hot" jets!! Entrance/exit routes were confusing. Shopping mall a little more than 1/2 mile with Timex museum on the way...not much else in "downtown" Waterbury. Wifi in lobby only...rooms hardwired Clean rooms that were comfortable but an extra chair or two would have been nice.

Stayed there for a wedding that was in the town over. Hotel was easy get to off the highway and was very clean with nice employees. However, the area was scary and sketchy, getting lost in it was easy and not fun.

Compared to other recent travel, Waterbury was ideal for the business traveler who didn't need all the ameniites of the leasure traveller.
