This place is absolutely awful! I called ahead to see if my friend and I could have rooms together and their response was "We won't be able to do that. We are fully booked. Hold please." Without even asking our names she put me on hold and after five minutes I hung up. The check in went fine but when we got to our room the door to our room wouldn't latch so i had to slam it over and over to get it to lock. Staying with four young children this was very unsettling that anyone could walk into our room at any time. Also while in the room the deadbolt beneath the handle would not lock either. The drain stop in the tub was broken and would pop off if it was touched. The tv was awful-the first screen asks you to pay for the television and $18 for a movie is robbery. They also had kids packages for purchase but i was not buying tv. There is a live tv button but you have to search to find-it seems they want to trick you into paying for it. The pool was FREEZING!!! No towels and didn't even bring enough for our family after we asked twice and waited an hour. The deck was so slippery that my friend fell and hurt herself badly while holding her baby. The people staying at the hotel were so rude-family of 19 came into the pool and banged on the key coded door for the pool until we opened it for them, they were splashing and obnoxious and then tried to steal our towels out of our chair. When asking about check out i had to call the front desk 6 times before someone answered "hold please"

What I like best about this hotel is its location! It's close to Wallingford and Choate Rosemary Hall. It has always provided a comfortable, quiet night's sleep for us when we visit.

I was assigned a room at the back of the hotel, where I parked near a side door that could be opened with my room key. Right away, I noticed the lock box was broken off the wall and the exterior door was unlocked. I went inside and saw that the only way up to my room was via a dimly lit stairwell right by this open door. The hotel itself backs up to railroad tracks and is located alongside a fairly busy road in an area that looked a bit deserted/rundown, so the lack of properly secured doors should have been a major concern. (I should also note that when I looked into the stairwell, the heater unit cover was hanging off the wall. These two broken items in the first two minutes of my stay, along with underwear sitting in plain sight on the front lawn, gave me the impression that the hotel was not being kept up.) So, I went to the lobby to see about an alternative room or (hopefully) a different location that might be safer. At the front desk, another family who had just checked in came up to report the same safety concerns and also to report that the alarm in the room next to the one they’d been given was going off with no one responding to it. The front desk attendant did not seem to take the safety concern seriously at all. He just said that he would call maintenance and have them look at it. This was not fixed before I checked out. Also, the window in my room had a broken lock. This is unacceptable and I felt unsafe. For that reason alone, I would not stay here again.

Front desk didn't know what she was talking about when it came to payments. I had to call customer service while I was in the hotel so someone could explain it. The room was missing the remote and trashcan. And on day 2 they didn't leave any towels for some reason. The only thing that was good was the location and the free breakfast with stay.

I would never stay there again, rugs are dirty,no security,I just didnt like it.

We chose this hotel because the location is very convenient to Choate in Wallingford. The rooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. This time, we found that the family in the room next to ours was very loud from 10:00-11:00 PM. It seemed as though they had never stayed in a hotel. Our call to the front desk brought the security guard to their door to quiet them down. We didn't hear another word after that. As a result, we had a very good sleep. We thank the staff for their efforts to make our stay very pleasant, all in all!

easy check in and service is pleasant , restaurant was good food and very relaxing.

The vending machines did not work very well - lost some money and had to resort to using a debit card/.

After previous stays at other venues in the area, Best Western Plus was a wonderful relief. Everything and everyone was great. Of course, we're not talking about an upscale spa resort...just a well-run hotel that's a clean well-maintained inviting facility equipped with exercise room, large pool, sports bar(offering a really nice breakfast in the a.m.), and, most important...a very friendly staff. You'll like this: Clean....repeat clean, well maintained rooms. P.S.: They've been doing some welcomed maintenance and updating along the way. Another P.S.: Nothing is perfect in life so here are some suggestions: Replacing the tired unhappy bathroom wallpaper should be the next project. While I love the shampoo, the tissue papers could be upgraded from -10 and how 'bout real glasses. Another, more serious issue is the need for better outside lighting on entering the parking lot... the issue is safety. That's it folks.

We first booked three nights and extended for a fourth. The staff is very accommodating.Over all great stay. While we usually stay at the Best Western we made the mistake of staying at the Clarion in Hamden it was awful.

Location is farther than 15 minute from the hospital in the mornings due to traffic. Took us longer than anticipated, but overall not a bad spot. Nice hotel for needs. Just had to spend the night. There was a fridge in the room and a microwave we were able to use downstairs. No complaints

This hotel location is very convenient for us. Heading north on Hwy. 91, we don't have to go out of our way at all. In the morning, it took about 10 minutes to get to Choate. Beds were very comfortable and we could open the window to get some crisp fall air.

This best Western could use some up dates are room was dark, bed was not the best mattress need up dating..and breakfast was terrible. Eggs runny.most things were empty.had two waitress on but on one was OK the other not. We would not recommend this best Western

No more than a three star hotel. Checked into room to find previous guest's sunglasses and dirty soaps in the bathroom. Close enough to New Haven.

Weekend stay was great. Good rooms, breakfast, pool and staff.

We were in town to go to our son's graduation from law school. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly.

We stay in the hotel when we come to visit our son it meets our needs

Was in town for business trip. Room was great. Staff was awesome. Restaurant first class sports bar. Weather was bad and the desk staff allowed me to stay in the room past check out time. Very accommodating. Very friendly. Awesome stay!

We stayed 4 people in a room with two double beds. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom is not very covenient for 4 people - not enough place to put stuff on. The Toilets had a blockage. The breakfast was a good American breakfast.

This is a huge difference between the older Holiday Inn. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed ever! My room overlooked a beautiful garden with a gazebo. They have free transportation within a 10 mile radius. Almost anything that you want to do is conveniently located within the radius. The inside restaurant was good also. The continental breakfast was average. I would definitely go back again. PL
