Easy and convenient location with free parking. Close walk to downtown Monterey.
Check in was fast and efficient, front clerk was very helpful.
Loved the view from our room. Very noisy the first night. Many large, noisy groups pounding and stomping around into the early morning hours. Office was across the street so we had to walk to get ice and coffee. The surroundings were OK during the day, but I would not have felt comfortable walking around after dark. Room was clean and comfortable.
We stayed in the second property (out back) which from the outside doesn't look great, but the room was updated, modern, clean and a generous size. Bed was comfortable, pillows a bit hard. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is bagged snacks, but Denny's is a easy walk. Several very good restaurants are all an easy walking distance,
I have stayed at this property with my child twice and found it to be just right for a 1- or 2-night stay. I really appreciate the friendly staff, clean and well-supplied bedroom and bathroom, convenient location for getting to the wharf, downtown, and the aquarium. It is a quiet neighborhood, has easy on-site parking, and is quite economical. No breakfast room anymore during the pandemic, but there are restaurants close by and the coffee/tea maker, small refrigerator, and microwave in the room helped.
It was a very convenient location for a good price. The room was outdated but it was quiet. Overall, no complaints, everything was fine, no problems.
The hotel was very disappointing. The room was not clean. There were burn marks in the furniture. Metal fragments found in the bed sheets. Old decor. Would definitely not recommend this hotel.
For the price we paid I was pretty disappointed in the room and atmosphere. Usually you think “you get what you pay for” but having paid $200 for one night midweek i expected much more. If you are going in hopes to sleep…well count that out. We had two dumpsters directly outside our room. Literally within 10 feet of our room. At first…not a problem. But come 2am when someone decided to dumpster dive for recyclables then it was a problem. Bottle smashing/falling all over and trash lids falling. I know the hotel can’t control something of that sort in the middle of the night, however, they should/could consider repositioning where the dumpster is…maybe the street like every other surrounding business. THEN at 6 am the trash truck came to pick up the trash bins!!! And to top that off at 7am the owner/maintenance personnel decided to move the dumpsters back to their bay! I think either locals and employees were staying upstairs in some rooms and they were very loud as they hung out on the balcony. Walked by our room at 7:30 talking to other employees and cursing. Also, be sure you get there at checkin and do not leave after the wise you will be parking on the street. As for the hotel room, nothing screamed “we take covid seriously”. I actually manage a housekeeping team and this room was sloppy. Bed looked like someone had sat on it, toilet seat needs to be changed as it was chipped and not very inviting and the toilet was constantly refilling throughout the night randomly
I had to check out early due to being sick and didn't spend the two nights, but front desk said they can't refund me for those two nights
For this stay we booked a King bed suite. The room was very large and clean. A great value with a central location close to resturants and shopping. We will be back.
Room was clean and as advertised - we picked an ocean view with a little more square footage as we had bikes. There was plenty of space to store them in the room. They had "modified" breakfast options which = no breakfast. No hot coffee (they give you a little coffee maker in the room... not very flavorful) and no bagged food that I could locate. This was somewhat expected so we just walked to Peet's and the Paris bakery. We went thru our roll of TP after the 2nd day and they did not have a spare in the room. I called and they said sure, come to the office and get it. Hmmm. Good thing I called before we needed it. We got what we paid for.
Hotel was kept tidy and neat. We stayed across the street because the property was divided. Never had to encounter that before. Overall stay with two kids was okay. I asked front desk person if there were any 1st floor rooms available because I have a toddler and infant; his response was that they have an elevator. -____- hopefulyl the guests below me or above me didn’t think our room was too crazy or loud thanks to my 3yr old kid being a kid. Eeeeek.
Honestly this was an amazing experience. I have stayed in Monterey multiple times at different places but this by far has been my favorite. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was amazingly comfortable. I am a big man and I do have a bad knee but the stairs here were very easy to walk on. Everyone working was very nice also. We had a problem with our key card the last night but they fixed it immediately. Overall was an amazing room and will definitely be returning.
Nice spacious room, comfortable furniture, modern decor. The toilet seat was quite low, not easy for older persons.
I liked that there was Efficient staff. I did not like that the parking spaces near my room were full. I liked that there was microwave and refrigerator in the room. I liked that the room was clean and in good repair. I did not see anything that worn out and nothing seemed to be old or out-dated.
Location was good, short walk to downtown and easy to get to bike path. A little further but still walking distance to Whole Foods and shopping center. Room was good size, we were in the annex across the street. The only thing I didn't like was the breakfast. Coffee was like water and no eggs/sausage. Good thing Paris Bakery was not far. OK for the price but will probably not return.
Easy access to downtown Monterey. Friendly check in staff at front desk. Clean rooms that have very comfortable beds.
