Poolside rooms are not poolside. Check in is 3, had to wait until 4:30.
This is a three story property with a pool in the ground, thus one-third of the rooms are poolside. However, booking a “poolside” room can get you anywhere in that building. According to the staff, the property is two side, the “Gold Spike side” and the “pool side”. So booking a “poolside” room actually means a “pool view” room on the “pool side” of the property. Not only was my “poolside” room on the third floor, they kept me waiting an hour-and-a-half past check-in because it wasn’t ready. As if they didn’t know I was coming. 😂
Security will harass you if your staying there
You had to be escorted in and out of your room every time you go in . If you wanted to go to your room, you literally had to wait in line .totally inconvenient, i would like to go straight up to my room . As abhotel guest, you could not just walk diwn to the bar and get a drink, you had to go outside and then wait in line to get back in. Security literally would escort you out and in . I felt like it was so hood luke what are they adraid i might buy something. It was clise enough to freemon street that we had plenty of other options as to where to go hang out , so we didnt spend hardly any time here unless we were sleeping or getting ready .
Like the friendliness and hospitality of staff, especially the lady name Randy at check-in. Didn't like the unavailability of iron/ironing board in room.

The staff were all very friendly and the Gold Spike bar / club was nice. The room was more or less an average hotel room but light and noise came in through the window even with the shade closed. Ear plugs were provided by the hotel but I would suggest bringing a sleep mask if you are sensitive to light while trying to sleep.

I thought this place wouldn’t be bad based on the atmosphere of the club/game area in the public portion. The room was disgusting. The tv, air conditioner, and bathroom outlets didn’t work properly. Also killed a cockroach one morning. No thanks, never again!!
Staff were super nice. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable. The floor and furniture could be replaced, but again, everything was very clean. We enjoyed the pool too. We were only spending one night, so it worked out just fine.
Service was outstanding, rooms were cute and the pool was nice and cold! Can’t wait to stay here again
Love the easy check in and check out process
Toilet wouldn't flush, which really makes you wonder how well they clean the rooms. Sofa legs had no feet and just kind of laid flat on the floor. TV didn't work either. And this was a "King Suite". They moved us into a another room the next day which was better, but smelled like smoke. You're saving money here for sure, but there are better options downtown.
