Look, nothing is wrong with the Sleep in. Its actually close to 4 great resturants. Its ok. But for the money there are alot better values in Jacksonville. Solid room, nice bed. My ac kept stopping and starting but it was still cool. My remote never worked. If your in the area, its a ok choice. Breakfast is worth skipping unless you want yogurt or ceral. Dont touch the gravy. " Meh "
Arrived at midnight two weeks ago and stayed here for The Players at Sawgrass. Check in was slow and hallway and room smelled musty on the second floor and the bathtub was dirty. The parking lot is small. Beds, space, decor, and breakfast was okay. Not the worse place I stayed at
We booked late to go to The Players at TPC Sawgrass, and spent a week here. While a bit out of the way, it’s easy to get everywhere given the transport links. The room was spacious, clean & well maintained. The staff were super friendly - Mary on reception was especially helpful with anything we needed.
While there were some positives such as a (surprisingly from the looks) comfortable bed and pillows, a mini fridge (that froze everything) a microwave, flat screen TV and a window that cracks open. They have an outdoor pool and a small breakfast and breakfast area. Located right off the freeway next to some other budget hotels, has reasonable rates. It took 30 minutes from the time I walked in to check in to the time I got to my room. "Printer issue." By then, the dinner I had picked up prior to arrival was cold. The room was so dirty I was nervous staying there. The lamp on the table had either a pile of coffee grounds or dead bugs, not sure, probably coffee. The sheets didn't fit and the mattress cover underneath was nasty. In fact, for the first review ever (and I've written a few...) I will include a couple of pics. It has everything you basically need, but they REALLY need to do some deep cleaning. The smoke smell was so strong I had the window open the entire stay and had to hear freeway, busy road and pool area noise. Hotel itself was relatively quiet except down by the front desk area. Carpet in my hall looked new and some of the staff were nice. If it weren't for the need for serious cleaning, I'd probably give it the next mark up.
i arrived at 2am, and there were NO parking spaces on the property! i am 71 and have mobility issues, so i parked in front and went to check in, figure out where to park. The front desk clerk, Art, moved his car from a spot where i could easily get mine in the morning, and parked mine there. My room was great, bed very comfortable, and no hall noise at all. Sleep inn rules!
Stayed one night (3/9) and was a good choice for the price. Large room with plenty of space. Room had a mini frig, two closets, iron and usb charging ports. Clean and quiet. Manager at desk very friendly.
we usually stay at the Choice hotel group but this was a poor Sleep Inn, dirty, smelled musty, was in a run down part of town. the beds were not up to par and the ac/heat unit was old and very noisy, breakfast was just ok
Good elevator good room and comfy bed. Easy off and on for interstate. Shell station across the way featured locals who live "al fresco" and wanted to tell me their plight. Hotel staff very good. Room was clean.
Room 210, desk clerk says other rooms not available, very noisy. Called the desk twice to complain about guests upstairs running and stomping and banging, ridiculous. Don't know how people could be so inconsiderate, after 10 pm. I work a long day, last thing I need is not getting a good sleep. Entry and Buffet area needs updating. This hotel caters to Contractors and workers, so a lot of them hang out in the lobby area or at entry smoking. Many work trucks in Parking lot. Desk clerk always on personal phone or outside smoking. Room had an oversanitized smell!
We had not stayed at a Sleep Inn for years because of the small bathroom and room. However, in looking at the other options, this by far offered the same ammenities, but at reasonable prices. Also reading other reviews helped to persuade us to give it another try. And, yes, we are glad we did. I hope you all will have an opportunity to meet Angie. She is a breath of fresh air. Best of all she has great public relations. A big welcoming smile will greet you at the front desk in the evening. She shows you the breakfast area and the lobby(loved the furniture and the coffee table) and of course where the elevator is located. All very important info upon arrival. After-all, this is your home away from home for the next 24 hours more or less. . Our room was on the third floor. Not a sound anywhere except for a passerby saying Hi. Our room was immaculate and very spacious. The TV excellent with more stations than we needed. Bathroom was sparkling clean. And the beds were too comfortable. Best of all, the air conditioner worked and there was no outside noise. After resting for a short time we went downstairs to look for a restaurant. Angie was more than helpful giving us directions to a Chinese buffet that was about 4 miles from the Inn. Her directions put us right there without a problem. We just wish the food was as good. On the ride to the buffet, we noticed an Applebee's and two other restaurants nearby. They seemed to be within walking distance of the hotel and all were quite busy. Angie mentioned that the breakfast was a Continental with a few extra things thrown in. Continental to us means bagels, choice of bread, muffins, maybe a danish with juice, tea and coffee on the side. This was definitely more than the usual. A great breakfast buffet that was beyond the norm for Choice Hotels. It really gave us the energy to drive the last 5 hours of our trip after being on the road for 3 days, covering 1300 miles. What made it even more enjoyable was Angie who went out of her way to make us happy. I just wish that Choice Hotels would take note of a person like Angie. The front desk staff are the most important in that they are not only there to greet you and sign you in, but also to give the first impression of where you are staying. Too often the front desk is not around when you need them, do not answer incoming calls and are rude and obnoxious. Such was not the case here. Our stay was wonderful and we will do it again.
