This was our second stay at the Westin downtown Greenville - and we won’t stay anywhere else in the future. For all the reasons… Parking: plentiful, and there’s a parking deck directly behind the building. They also valet park. Location: perfect - right in the middle of the downtown strip - within walking distance to Fluor field, the Reedy falls park, and plenty of restaurants. Building: classic and beautiful inside and out. Staff: superb - they actually like working there! From the front desk to the concierge to the bar staff and restaurant servers, every single person was sincere, happy and kind. Janice at the concierge desk recommended a restaurant that was off the beaten path for our anniversary dinner (not disappointed) - and when we returned to our room, we found a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries from Janice, along with a heartfelt handwritten note, congratulating us on our 12 years together. Food: we only had breakfast there, but it was delicious - plated dishes using fresh ingredients with Starbucks coffee on brew. Overall, the entire company made us feel like we were the only guests there.

Beautiful historic hotel

This location is absolutely beautiful, well staffed, and excellent location for walking around the downtown area.

Our room was spotless and extremely comfortable. The hotel staff were extremely courteous and could not have been more helpful. Very nice people. The bar tender- Patrick- created a fun atmosphere. Very interesting guy who added an extra dimension to our stay. We will certainly return to the Poinsett next time in Greenville.

Love this old hotel. It could use some updating in the rooms as it is dated compared to some of the newer hotels in the area. But I also love all the old marble and design features as they harken back to the gilded age. One can only imagine the guests of yesteryear. Hard to picture this as an abandoned property a mere only a few decades ago.

Great buffet breakfast. Service was excellent. Friendly staff.

The bell staff, valets and front desk crew really went out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome.

Nice hotel walkable to everything, quite, complimentary buffet was decent.

The experience was less than expected from the start. The porter didn't get all of our luggage out of the car. He ignored my wife then disappeared. My wife ended up having to roll what luggage that he did manage to load onto the cart to our room. I requested to self park as I didn't want anyone driving my little sports car. Only to come back down from check-in with my car missing. The valet is cruising it around the block. "It will be back soon". After waiting on my car to return and for the now car parked in the way to be moved I made it into the garage so I can carry the remainder of luggage myself. Not sure what the multiple black flakes were under my two large pillows. I pulled back the sheet and didn't see anything else. So I brushed them off. The room was very wet and sheets felt sticky. We turned the thermostat down thinking it would cool down and dry out. Not the case. (Obviously Westin is attempting to do the typical "energy saving" move, raise the chill water temperature on the chiller. The all too common mistake that leads to sick building syndrode.) The problem became overly apparent at about 4am, when it would have been even more of an inconvenience to move to another room where the chill water temperature would have been the same slightly cool temp and obviously even more of an inconvenience to move to another hotel if one was even available. The Hampton Inn the night before was so much better.

This hotel has great character and decor, an excellent location on the main street of a quaint yet bustling downtown area. I attended school nearby years ago and always admired the Westin Poinsett for its granduer. It is a prominent gem of a beautiful and historic street.

Very nice!! The hotel staff was great and the location is in the heart of the city.

Nice hotel close to everything. Doors need to be better insulated. Why do they have to automatically close so hard?

Easy access. Only a few blocks from the Peace Center and Falls Park. Many local restaurants and some good shopping within easy walking distance. The hotel shuttle was available for taking us to a concert at Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Alan was extremely friendly

When we arrived at the hotel, we maneuvered our way through the parking garage and finally located a parking spot. Once there, it was easy to get into the hotel, but I would highly recommend using their valet service for parking. Check in was a breeze, with very friendly staff. Our room was nicely decorated, very comfortable and exceptionally clean. The location was convenient for walking to restaurants, to the river, and to Bon Secours Wellness Center. There were a few things that would have made our stay even better, however. There were wonderful cookies available at the check-in desk, but infused water would have been a nice addition. The room did not have a microwave, which would have been nice. Also, a vent fan in the bathroom would be a welcome feature. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend this hotel.

We were pleasantly surprised to be able to check-in exceptionally early on a Sunday at 11:30am. Despite knowing we were way too early, it was a treat to be able to have our bags in the room that early. The staff is very friendly and will go out of their way to assist.

Nice hotel with excellent location for visit to Greenville.
