Valet was extremely helpful I love the accommodations

There is no housekeeping Service which is unexpected for spending over $400 per night including taxes!

Our stay was mostly pleasant. We were awaken to very loud construction, at 8am Saturday morning it was not pleasant at all after our late evening. Overall we do like this hotel but maybe in the future they could let us know we will not be sleeping in.

They haven’t updated their COVID-19 policies to current guidelines, steam room and hot tub closed, spa closed. Lack of supervision in pool area, which allowed rowdy kids to take over pool. Lack of clean towels by the pool. Hotel is in need of an interior update to the 2020’s. I feel that I overpaid for the room, it was not what I really wanted and booked.

River view was very nice.

I didn’t particularly like anything about the property. I’ve been to many properties working to navigate COVID regulations and most have some form of amenities - this had none nor was it specially clean either. Reasonably clean yes, but nothing special and my coffee pot had a full tank of left over water in it. In other words - obviously hadn’t been touched in the cleaning from the last guest. But hey, their little cool “break the seal” gimmick to enter a clean room was there! 🙄

Great view. For the price of the room we were disappointed with the quality of the furniture and the lack of a mini bar or snacks in the room.

I love the JW, we have stayed at this hotel several times over the last several years and have always loved it. Unfortunately this stay was not satisfactory. Our room was in need of repairs, the toilet moved and made a loud noise when you sit or stand up, there was a dirty handicap chair in our bathroom, the bathroom sink needed caulking, the grout on the floor was in disrepair (all easy things that regular maintenance should catch at a hotel of this caliber). The coffee pot in the room did not work. The Valet ticket said to push the Valet button on the phone to call for the car however there was no such button on the phone, the phone had a note to use the Directory however no such Directory was available in our room. A simple luxury like calling the Valet (a service that we paid for) to pull our car up involved me waiting on hold for 5 minutes to be transferred to Valet. Once our vehicle was pulled up, the Valet was not friendly nor did he offer to help in any way. He did not even open the door for my husband whose hands were full handling our luggage, I climbed back out of the car to open the door for my husband while the Valet stood there. Overall, our stay was fine IF we had been at the Holiday Inn Express however we were at the JW Marriott and were sadly disappointed. I hope this was a one-off experience as we have always loved staying here for special occasions.

Love this hotel! Skywalk to the Arena and most restaurants

Stayed here to see tim mcgraw and faith hill at van andel. Staff was amazing, and the walk to the venue was short. Lots of cool places within walking distance. Only complaint was that parking while checking in was horrible and non existent. The only space available was where vallet was.

One of the best hotels. Top quality in everything.

Probably the only decent hotel in Grand Rapids. Worth the extra $$

Room was beautiful and spotless The staff was professional and friendly

Fantastic place. Everything is close by and great room

We've stayed at many hotels in downtown GR. JW is the best. It is is upscale and convenient. Close to everything. The staff is great and the views are nice from every room. 616 restaurant and bar starts with a very good burger and offers fine food beyond that. Highly recommend.

We stayed the night for a concert at the new 20Monroe Live and JW was within walking distance. Having recently stayed at another large hotel downtown, we were excited to try something different. JW was by far cleaner, friendly, and had better interior design (more modern and upscale). We parked in self parking and it was horrifically expensive considering we were overnight guests. The room itself was immaculate, the bathrooms were AMAZING (seriously, that tub is a masterpiece). The beds, however, were hard, the pillows were flat and feathery (I normally love a good down feather, but these were obviously old and well-loved) and the comforter was stiff and not all that comforting. It was hard to get comfortable in the bed and made for a hard time falling asleep- and I am a mom of 2 who had been up since 4am the night before with littles... I look forward to a night where I can sleep! haha The only other feedback I would give is that once you get off the elevator from the parking ramp, there was no clear "route" to the check-in... we followed another guy and were pumped to find the check in counter over by the restaurant. Just a little annoying for someone not familiar with the building. Overall, I loved the hotel and would stay again! I'd just bring my own pillow next time.

The room was pretty basic but clean. The bathroom was very nice with a glass shower and amazing shower head.
