Fantastic place. Everything is close by and great room

We've stayed at many hotels in downtown GR. JW is the best. It is is upscale and convenient. Close to everything. The staff is great and the views are nice from every room. 616 restaurant and bar starts with a very good burger and offers fine food beyond that. Highly recommend.

We stayed the night for a concert at the new 20Monroe Live and JW was within walking distance. Having recently stayed at another large hotel downtown, we were excited to try something different. JW was by far cleaner, friendly, and had better interior design (more modern and upscale). We parked in self parking and it was horrifically expensive considering we were overnight guests. The room itself was immaculate, the bathrooms were AMAZING (seriously, that tub is a masterpiece). The beds, however, were hard, the pillows were flat and feathery (I normally love a good down feather, but these were obviously old and well-loved) and the comforter was stiff and not all that comforting. It was hard to get comfortable in the bed and made for a hard time falling asleep- and I am a mom of 2 who had been up since 4am the night before with littles... I look forward to a night where I can sleep! haha The only other feedback I would give is that once you get off the elevator from the parking ramp, there was no clear "route" to the check-in... we followed another guy and were pumped to find the check in counter over by the restaurant. Just a little annoying for someone not familiar with the building. Overall, I loved the hotel and would stay again! I'd just bring my own pillow next time.

The room was pretty basic but clean. The bathroom was very nice with a glass shower and amazing shower head.

Great hotel in a fantastic location for Grand Rapids

We love staying there, and have great service every time. It would be nice to have more dining options available, but there are plenty of choices in the immediate area.

Location, location, location! Everything you need is within walking distance from here. Room was terrific and staff was wonderful.

The hotel and Staff were fantastic location was great and the views were wonderful looking forward to staying there in the near future

The room was roomy and comfy, but please note this hotel does not have roll-away cots.My husband and I wanted a king, with a cot for our daughter, but ended up with two queens. The registration staff was extremely apologetic. The little park adjacent to the building that celebrates Grand Rapids being the first to floridate its water was perfect for our 18 month old grandson to run around. The outside hotel bar was also extremely nice with very accommodating staff. Room service was timely and the meals were hot...a real plus. Our stay was a little pricey, but I would definitely stay there again.

For the cost, not that great except for the service. The food was expensive and lousy. I ordered toast and over easy eggs, got hard toast, over hard eggs, sent back , and got same thing, wasn't edible. All meals we ordered were terrible. Room was clean but housekeeping didnt replace stuff when they cleaned like towels. You had to pay for a microwave, came with tiny fridge but no tiny freezer. No complimentary breakfast. Wasn't anywhere to go eat at around there so we were stuck with their nasty food. The thermostat wouldn't go down past 65 and it was hot in the room the whole time. Windows didnt open so couldn't get a breeze, didn't sleep well because of the stuffiness. Will not go back again. Didn't have shuttle service back and forth to airport so it cost us an extra $. Wish we could have stayed in a motel for half the cost and had shuttle service, complimentary breakfast, air conditioning we could control, windows that opened, microwave, and a refrigerator with freezer. Also, its on the river but if you want a room on that side of the hotel you have to pay extra so ours was of the parking lot.

The JW is by far the nicest hotel to stay at in Grand Rapids. Location is convenient, easy self park or valet and great views of the river. I highly suggest paying for a river view, it's worth it. The room rate is slightly higher than alternatives nearby but worth it when you compare the two.

Lovely hotel with exceptional greeeters and front desk staff! Extremely clean and comfortable! Get the river view!

A pleasant surprise! Modern facility and located ideally in central downtown GR. Views from riverside rooms are great!

My fiance and i love the JW. Always top notch staff, rooms, everything. Walking distance to lots of bars, restaurants, museums. Just perfect.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful location, great prople. Rooms were comfortable and nice. Staff was friendly. The restaurant downstairs wasn't the best but there are tons of great places close

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful and the location was great. The JW is definitely our Grand Rapids hotel of choice.

Enjoyed the location right on the river - made for a great viewing location for the fireworkds. Beds could have been a bit more comfortable. All in all, a very nice hotel in great location.

One of the great centerpieces in Grand Rapids. High class but friendly and comfortable. Spotless. Great location with wonderful view of the river and downtown. Easy walking to just about wherever you want to go in downtown Grand Rapids.

Check in was a breeze, jazz band by the elevators made the quick wait even better, one of the most comfortable beds I've ever stayed in. Highly recommend

This is a nice and up to date hotel. The only reason I am not giving it 5 starts is that when my wife and I arrived to check in, the hotel had given our room away. We were delayed in a snowstorm in Denver and arrived 3 hours late (around 3am). The hotel staff claimed that due to a busy weekend and them not hearing from us, they assumed we weren't coming and they gave the room we had reserved to someone who wanted an upgrade to the room we had. This is unbelievable since the room was pre-paid through an online travel service. They did get us into another room for that night and we were able to move into the room we wanted the following night, but the whole giving the room away was not acceptable to a tired traveler.
