Good locations and friendly staff

Historic old property that is in good shape. Friendly staff. Loved the old style bathroom, and comfortable bedding.

Waited 45 minutes to park. Waited 45 minutes to check in. They get us a room finally. When we open the door, the room is still dirty. Staff was great though. Just very poor process

Coffee in the lobby was out more often than it was available but that’s a minor annoyance. Our key cards both stopped working halfway through our stay. Having to go get them fixed was a minor annoyance. The hot water ran out on consecutive days so the second day we gave up trying to take a hot shower. Much bigger annoyance. The worst part is that I was charged twice for our stay. The hotel has yet to contact me after being notified of the situation twice. I won’t be staying here again.

Our room smelled like pot when we arrived and the ceiling of our shower leaked all morning. Woke up after 4 hours of sleep from hearing the drip and couldn’t go back sleep. The leak was from the room above us and couldn’t be fixed, so we couldn’t shower this morning.

The staff was friendly and efficient. The room was clean and quiet and had a great view of the city. Valet parking was available, however, self park options were limited.

We enjoyed our stay this was our second time there and would definitely stay again, always been treated with a fast and friendly service, the location is in the heart of everything, always close to what’s happening in Detroit.

The stay was nice, and what I was looking for, however they do not tell you you have to pay a $35 overnight valet parking fee. There is NO parking other option onsite and I was not pleased about that.

Hotel displays the uniqueness of Metropolitan Detroit a hotel known for being a leader in Downtown Detroit as well as reputation for being one of the most prestige qualities in a environment not too crowded and all staff working together to make stay a time to always remember

I understand being short staffed, but the line for check in was outrageous. I go to check in and I had originally reserved a king bed room. They tell me they don’t have any king rooms available. My boyfriend is 6’6” and doesn’t typically fit in a queen bed so this was disappointing. They get me a queen room instead with no accommodation for the change. I’m sent on my way and get to my room. The TV is blasting. There are to-go boxes and garbage everywhere. The bed is not made. Thank god that guest had checked out, but what if I had just walked into a taken room with a guest there? I sincerely thought there was someone there. I gather my things and go back down to the lobby where the line is still extremely long. I skip the line and go to the front letting them know I was sent to a dirty room. Another guest walks up to the counter and says the same thing. At this point I’m disgusted. I feel dirty. The person working the counter did not apologize once. She took my key, said something into a walkie-talkie, didn’t communicate anything to me and gave me a new key, again with no accommodation for what I just experienced. I would not stay here again and I would not recommend. I actually can’t believe how terrible the customer service was.
