The Metropolitan Hotel is a boutique size hotel nestled in downtown Detroit near lots of dining and entertainment venues. Basically parking is valet only but they offered great service. Actually, everybody at the hotel was wonderful. Very nice breakfast and their rooftop monarch club bar was exceptional and cozy with great views of the city. I got one of their larger one bedroom suites, and it was roomy and had a full kitchen. My only real complaint and reason for not giving five stars to every category was the brown vinyl wood flooring covering the entire room looked super low end. Like the kind of flooring you’d see in a hospital or institution. And in my suite some of the furniture (pull out couch) had the same cheap low end feel. On the other hand the bed/linens were first rate. Great bathroom etc. It was also slightly odd that there was no art on any walls. With the institutional floor and the stark walls, it gave the space kind of a cold appearance. All in all, it was a nice stay at a nice hotel. Just wish the finish detail was a little more consistent and especially the condition of the floors.

Walking distance to Fox Theatre, beautifully decorated for the holidays, breakfast was very good, very friendly and helpful staff.

The rooms were clean, I liked the water filter on the sink and how it eliminated the need to buy plastic water bottles. The breakfast & staff at breakfast were amazing! The only negative was there was no shelf in the shower for my toiletries and no full length mirror.

Stayed in Detroit for a concert at the Filmore. The hotel was in very close walking distance. Staff was amazing. We were upgraded to a larger room and were VERY impressed! If we were to be back in Detroit, would absolutely stay here again.

I would stay again at this place.

Beautifully renovated. Great location. I feel that they delivered on the little extra we paid.

Breakfast was delicious and very fresh! We also were very impressed by the hotel staff from our immediate check in to resolve an issue to the manager we ran into on the elevator.

The hotel building is gorgeous. Very nice layout. Many comfortable spots to relax. Above average complimentary breakfast.
