20 min walk from Comerica
We chose this hotel mainly because it was just a 20-minute walk to Comerica Park, which was super convenient.
The exterior could definitely use a fresh coat of paint—it looks a bit run down from the outside. On our walk back from the park at night, there were a few areas that felt a little iffy in terms of safety, so keep that in mind if you're walking late.
The room itself was surprisingly spacious. It had a large desk, a TV, and two full beds—each with four pillows and a decorative one. The beds were made up with a sheet, a blanket, and a comforter, which made them cozy. There was also a cute little towel cart placed next to the sink, which added a nice touch. The bathroom had a tub/shower combo with a glass partition, and the sink was located outside the bathroom, which was convenient.
Parking was gated, and you needed a key card to access both the lot and the hotel itself, which made us feel secure. Inside, there was a coffee shop and a bar. Across the street, there was a brewery with a lively night vibe—music and drinks, though no food was served in the evening.
We also appreciated that the hotel featured art and artwork from local artists—it added a cool, personal touch. The stairs were easy to use, and we didn’t mind walking up to the third floor.
In the morning, we walked to a nearby café called Brooklyn Local, which was a great way to start the day.
