This is a no frills hotel aimed at business and convention travelers. We stayed one night, in order to be close to downtown. It's not a hotel I would choose to return to; very few amenities were offered. Staff members were extremely pleasant, professional and accommodating, which was the one mitigating factor for the overall experience.
I enjoyed my stay very much. From the staff to the hotel location, it couldn't be better over looking downtown Detroit and Windsor Canada from my room it was magical.
I have stayed here many times. It is a great location for events in downtown Detroit. I have only stayed at a different hotel once, due to room availability. You get what you pay for here. Still my favorite place to stay in the D.
This was our first time staying here. We have stayed at most of the other hotels in this area of Detroit. The hotel itself was lovely. The room had an amazing view. I've had cleaner rooms however there was nothing unsanitary just dusty. The staff were very nice. The big issue we had was with the convention of high school students going on. it took us 1.5 hours to get up to our room after the Red Wings game. Security should have been available to handle the elevator traffic so guests could go up and down in an orderly timely fashion.
had a very nice time great dinning and bar great for couples and buisinessmen
Our room had a stunning view of Detroit and Windsor. The bed was extremely comfortable with first class bedding. We had room service for dinner that was delicious and delivered timely by a friendly staff member.
We had a river front room and it was a great view. Room was clean and quiet. Comfortable bed.
They lost my keys in valet . I paid extra for a king and called that morning of the day we were staying and check in and they told me that my room was on hold for me and that was a lie. They gave me a double bed and me and my wife slept horrible
A enjoyable expericence from start to finish. Everything I would expect.
Although the hotel did not seem to be updated recently, it was very clean and friendly.
Purpose of the stay was to attend Kenny Chesney concert in Detroit. After the concert we were hungry and wanted to order room service. Could not get anyone to answer the phone (11:45 PM) and when I called the front desk was told I would have to let the phone ring at least 10 minutes however the operator did say there was pizza in the lobby. The hotel should have been better prepared for the large volume of calls/customers wanting something to eat after the concert. There could have been 2-3 options for those returning, PIZZA, PRE-MADE SANDWICHES, SNACK PACKS, etc. I paid $239 + tax for the room and expected much more from a service aspect.
Hotel was Great location right on Detroit River very beautiful.
This is a very large and sprawling hotel. A little difficult to navigate around. Not very good signage to get to your room and no map that I could see of where things were located (ex. bars restaurants et.) We had a friend with us who stayed here before so he knew. Great rooms...very comfortable and we got a river view which is awesome. Great bar area with good drinks and snacks. Rail system was packed so we got an uber total us to the Joe Louis Arena
we arrived at 8.30 pm after a long drive .There was a long contentious line at the desk.Given the news they were going to give us they could have offered us a drink and a seat .After an age we arrived at the desk to be told that our prepaid room had been given away .In all my long years of travel this has never happened before .The person we dealt with was pleasant enough and did her best but just seemed completely embarrassed .I definitely fault the manager with not being more of a presence and as I say offering people a seat and a drink. They did put us up in another hotel 25 mins out of Detroit ,the Dearborn Inn where I have stayed before and that was an excellent experience .Brilliantly run hotel and excellent staff with great breakfast .They did pay for cabs and I have just been reimbursed for my room. For us it was fine --however for a lot of other people it was very difficult .The process of having to stand in a long line and then been given this news was very unpleasant .The whole thing could have been handled in a much better way .
I had a late arrival and had transportation to the hotel from the airport. Went to check in at approx. 11:00pm and they did not have a room for me. Gave me $50.00 for cab fare and sent me to Troy to Courtyard. The cabs to and from cost me $130.00 and it resulted in a short night and being late to a meeting due to a long drive from Troy in traffic. I am not really sure how Marriott conducts business, but if this is their style, it will be a long time before I even dare to take a chance with Marriott. By the way I am a Marriott member, but happened to book this through this service so maybe they just don't acknowledge this service. Hopefully you understand I didn't stay there and that I should not pay me for a Marriott stay. I am not sure what it costs for a Courtyard in Troy, but this was crazy.
The hotel is nestled inside the Renaissance Center, which is unique with different levels of concrete that circle around the center, make you feel like you are in a fun maze. Kids love it! The rooms are very clean, the location is great with the people mover right outside the doors that can take you to red wings, tigers, lions games, casino and fox theatre. And don't forget greek town. It felt safe and was fun to see downtown Detroit being revitalized and coming alive. I would recommend for familes, couples and groups of friends!
Get spot, central to everything worth going to. Great view out of the windows as well. Room service is a little pricey, even for room service, but great stay.
Great Location. People Mover close by. Saw a Tigers game. Many bars and restaurants close by. Awesome time.
The location is great, but the acces gets very complicated, the amenities are not that good. Every else is just fin.
Nice location. Clean hotel. Easy for uber to pick us up and drop us off all over downtwon area.
