This hotel is not only all of the above, it is very conveniently located to restaurants, shops and gasoline stations. It definitely is my new #1 choice in the Frederick area for value and comfort. Desk clerks were well trained and especially efficient and helpful. The place was spotless. The warm oatmeal raisin cookies served at the coffee bar in the lobby were a welcome treat to a hungry traveler too!
Stayed one night. Check in was quick, maybe too quick, because when I checked out there was an issue and apparently it had something to do with when I checked in. I waited longer to check out than the whole check in process. Room had a distinct smell when you walked into it, almost a mix of chemicals and mildew. Breakfast was good, waffle machine, bacon, eggs (though they were on the drier side) and your usual toast/pantries/yogurt. The thing that stood out was that they plastic wrapped 2 slices of bread together and the apples so people weren't touching with their bare hands. Thumbs up to whoever thought of that!! Also the lady working the breakfast area was very attentive, cleaning the tables after guests left and checking/refilling breakfast items. Overall, good stay. Suggestion: during check in maybe mention the breakfast times or other helpful info for the guests
This was my second time at this property. I was on my way from Cincinnati to the DC area and the location was perfect for my next morning sales call(s). It is conveniently located, with ample restaurants in the area - Longhorn Steakhouse next door (walked). The room was clean and quiet. The staff was outstanding and very cheery. I will come back again. Thank you!
The checkin and checkout was seamless. They even moved one of our rooms because a family member didn't want to be near the parking lot. Breakfast buffet was one of the best I had seen in a long time. Staff was friendly with my child. Beds were comfortable. Be warned - no elevator and limited snack machine.
Very clean and modern setting. The staff were very friendly . I would highly recommend staying at this facility. Surrounded by restaurants shopping malls etc. Of all the 3 places we stayed at under this logo this was by far the best .
I have always been a big fan of the Choice Hotels group but I am terribly disappointed of this one. I traveled to Fredrick for some family matter and rolled into town around 3:00 am. Tired and sleepy from a long flight from the West Coast. I stopped by a couple of places in the area to check out the rates since they were next to each other and ended up in this property. The guy told me the hotel rate. asked to apply my AAA discount and gave me a rate of $110.00. I was tired and sleepy but not deaf so I took the room. I only had to be there for 3-4 hours that is why I was trying to get the best rate possible. I checked my credit card charges the following day and it was not what I was told. I called the 888# and the agent I spoke to blew me off and I asked for the property #. I called and she made it sound like I was imagining things and blowing smoke, Not to mention that she was being short with me. This incident will not keep me from staying with Choice Hotel properties but just not this one. They were rude and showed no compassion towards customers. I mentioned that I was a rewards member just to let her know that I use Comfort Inn often but her response was that "being a member will not give you discounts" I am not a super big customer but I do travel a lot but use different hotels depending on where I am. It looks like I can start fully migrating to other hotels moving forward. Adios Choice Hotels! .
The biggest problem was that there seemed to be one young woman comprising the entire staff for the latter part of the day, when people are checking in. She wAs very friendly! but overwhelmed with running the desk! answering calls from people in the hotel! and doing maintenance. Our phone in the room didn't work,so she had to leave the desk to bring us another one, which she hastily handed to us at the door. Later when I went to the desk to ask to make change, I found a sign saying she would be back in five minutes. The door was slightly off kilter and difficult to close completely. And the hair dryer only worked if you continued to hold the on button in the whole time. But the room was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The shower had great water pressure. The fridge had a small freezer.
Stay here while traveling from Boston to visit Hood College about a 10 minute drive away. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful answering questions about the area. Great shopping complex across the street provided a variety of food options. Would definitely stay here again.
There is really nothing too negative I can say about this hotel. For our $98/night we got a clean, spartan room with a limited but functional, free breakfast. While clean, the room did show slight signs of wear & tear. On a more positive note the location is great--there has to be every fast food & family restaurant you can think of within 10 mins. of the hotel. There's also a mall just a couple miles away. I also need to mention that the staff was friendly & accommodating. Hey! We're talking $98/night! It's clean, fairly comfortable with a free breakfast in a good location.
We have stayed at this Comfort Inn several times in the past few years. What a pleasant surprise this time! It has been completely redone - new bathrooms and furniture, a new breakfast room and lobby, and it is really great. It is also convenient to the interstate and several restaurants.
