Very clean, updated room with a nice view. We have stayed at the Rod and Reel several times but this is the first time we stayed after the renovations were made. We really like the updates that were made. The only complaint we have is the breakfast we had at the Rod and Reel restaurant was brought to us was not hot. We would have asked the server to warm our food but we did not have the time to do so. The food was good but would have been better hot.

Rooms were clean, our request to have rooms close to each other was honored. Staff were very friendly. John, bartender at the restaurant was very accommodating to our gift exchange, DJ was fun and took requests. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful with our needs, checked that our rooms were ready when we arrived early even! Two of us live in this town, but we will be back for another staycation!

The room, the staff, the property overall was great. The exception would be the restaurant. Although it is very new, it has a cooperate cafeteria look to it. Aside from a rope rigging near the entrance, you would have no idea you were in a waterfront resort restaurant. A plain white collapsable wall dominates the entire room. Their is no nautical feel to it. Also, it is a little pricey in my opinion. $19.00 for an omelet without even a slice of toast, $6.00 for two pieces of bacon. When I asked for jelly for my $3.00 English Muffin, I was told you do not have jelly. The server said she would bring out some of the compote that is serves with the pancakes. I was very surprised to see I was charged $2.00 for a few spoons of it.

I booked a king waterfront room but after checking into the room, I was given a room with 2 queen beds. When I called down to the front i was told they were over booked so they gave me then nicest room available. The room was very clean and nice but I hoped for a discount since i didnt the room type i paid for. Besides that, the resort was very nice as well as the staff.
