This is among the hotels you would never want to stay again. It is noisy and soooo dirty! -full of smells of detergent in the room and hallways and the carpets both in room and hallways are disgustingly dirty!!!
Excellent location for visiting authors' homes and local museum, getting a great cup of coffee in the morning, and the Colonial Inn restaurant - simply excellent!
Comfortable, conveniently located, friendly staff, and a good restaurant.
This is an old building so there are certain quirks that come with the territory. The staff were excellent: friendly, helpful, pleasant. The restaurant and pub on site are amazing. The challenge is that the rooms are on a busy road and that makes it fairly noisy.
Very cozy!
Historic hotel
Great hotel filled with history, beds were great but could change out the pillows which are extremely hard. Food was great and in a great location to go exploring.
Beautiful area but did not get good sleep. Got put in room 301 where the double doors kept slamming every time someone went through them. Didn’t notice as much during day when we checked in bc we had TV on but we got woke several times before 7:30am whenever door slammed.. went downstairs at 7:30am & Wendy said she would have maintenance come up and fix it. I had to actually vocalize that at this point my sleep been ruined. She said ok we will take something off your bill. I asked her to be more specific as we had paid good money to have this type of experience, and she just said, “We are going to take some money off your bill.” Again I had to repeat myself, “Can you be more specific?” She huffs then goes behind the counter to look up my bill, and said, “Unfortunately since you booked through a third party, we can’t do anything.” ORBITZ, would you like to interject if this is true or not? Anyhow, I had mentioned we were planning to do breakfast here since I had breakfast here many times and it was always good but wasn’t feeling too great about my experience right then— and so she offered to take care of breakfast to which I said I was glad she was at least doing something..Fast forward to breakfast and we are still waiting for our meal.. and I have time to keep typing.. sigh.Since I have more time, shampoo and conditioner was good, sheets not as good as Marriott. The charm of the area is echoed in the hotel/ furnishing.I really wanted to love my first stay here. Want sleep
The COVID virus has affected food services offered at Inn that was disappointing but beyond their control. Just wish we had known ahead of time.
Location was great....no real sitting area for guests outside your room and the room was tight but nice.
Great location - beautiful building and grounds. Eat outside or in. Helpful attentive staff.
Clerks seemed arrogant and self important from check in to check out and all in between. "Guests are but an inconvenience to the front desk staff at the Colonial." On checkout, the desk girl continued the run around and said she could not give me a copy of the receipt, that it would have to come through orbitz, since an associate booked it through them. After a week of screwing around and numerous phone calls, I still can not get a receipt for this over priced anachronism of a hotel. Quaint and comfortable, but the staff seems to forget for whom they are working. I will stay here again if I can not find anywhere else but the car to sleep.
My room was small # 105 with an awkward bathroom arrangement and anTINY showerl The hotel staff was fabulous and the charm is there. Ask for a room on the second floor or above.
Perfect location in Concord; walk to the Minuteman NHP or downtown. The room was very clean but small as would be expected in a historical hotel. In spite of the size we were very comfortable. Excellent breakfast in the restaurant; nice bar; warm and friendly staff.
