Our two night April 2023 stay at the hotel was very disappointing and far below the experience that was expected based on the reviews. I never would have stayed here had I known the extent of demolition and construction that was in process. Honestly, this is one of the worst hotel experiences I have had in 25 years of significant travel. The first morning we awoke to intense 4th floor construction in the room directly above our 3rd floor room - constant hammering, demolition and scraping on our ceiling. Then it returned later in the afternoon, and again the next morning. Taking the elevator up a floor revealed total demolition down to the concrete slab and the walls. There was no mention of any contruction whatsoever at booking, and only a modest sign in the lobby indicating we are currently undergoing renovations. The front desk staff were friendly and pleasant, but powerless to do anything but offer me a pitiful $50 credit on a $450 bill at checkout. When not under construction, this is probably a wonderful hotel and the people are very nice. However, to me charging full rates with no advance notice of full scale demolition and construction are unacceptable business practices.

Great location

This is a well located hotel with free parking! The lobby is nice , with a fireplace and seating. The front desk staff are wonderful. The hotel is attached to a Pub / Restaurant which is convenient. The hotel is nice enough, and the toiletries are great. A little touch-up on furniture edges would be appreciated. The gym is large with good light and a restroom. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

I left something at the hotel on accident and they shipped it to me immediately after. Great customer service; thank you!!

The property was in a great location because it was easy to walk to different places. The restaurant served breakfast and the food was delicious and plentiful.

It was in walking distance of all the attractions in center Salem.

Great location!

Great, walkable location and quiet despite the large parties at the hotel at the same time. A lot of parking spaces blocked off by cones and overflow parking is a block away. Ice bucket in room but could not locate an ice machine and no fridge in room. One of the front desk staff was a bit condescending when I asked a question about an event nearby and one of the bartenders at the bar ignored me while I sat there for several minutes. Decent place but nothing fancy. You definitely pay for location.

We arrived at the hotel late and were looking forward to getting a little room service but couldn’t get an answer. We went down to the Regatta Pub and despite being closed they accommodated our request for some chowder. It was delicious and just what we needed. The bartender was kind and gracious, despite the late hour.

I arrived in town much earlier than expected. Dolly at the front desk was not only very pleasant, but possibly the most professional hotel person I have ever encountered. She was able to get me an early check-in and my stay could not have been better!

The room heating/ac unit was as loud as a leaf blower - I basically passed out from exhaustion listening to it rather than falling asleep. The TV was unplugged for some reason when we arrived, requiring me to climb behind the dresser to reach the outlet. The wifi did not work. Front desk was unable to make change for me to leave a tip for housekeeping I was expecting so much more from a property with such a great reputation.

Great and reasonably priced place to stay. It is an older hotel so the water pressure in the shower wasn’t very strong, the windows were a bit drafty, and some wallpaper was peeling off a bit from the walls, but otherwise was lovely and comfortable. The staff were very polite and helpful. They provide water bottles, at no charge, to their guests. I didn’t see a recycling station for them, though I suppose I could have asked. Overall it was a nice place to stay and I recommend it.

Great location. Staff was nice.

The location was absolutely perfect and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was excellent and the food was delicious in the restaurant downstairs. Everything was very clean too! It is a little pricey but considering it’s right next to the wharf, it was worth it.

It started off rocky because the reservation from Orbitz was not in the computer when we arrived and it took an hour to sort out and get us a room. Then they put us in a very noisy room right above the restaurant (226). I asked to move and they upgraded us and put us in VERY quiet room and gave us breakfast vouchers and a plate of cookies so the second half of our stay was great.
