The Chicago O'Hare International Airport is located approximately 10 miles from downtown Chicago on Bessie Coleman Drive. Several airlines, including US Airways, American, United and Southwest Airlines, provide daily flights from Chicago to Phoenix. The airport offers both long- and short-term parking, but arrangements must be made in advance if you'll be parking longer than 30 days. Oversized vehicles are prohibited from parking in any of the O'Hare parking areas, and any vehicles parked in non-designated areas will be towed at the owner's expense.

There are several options available for travel to the airport. Regional trains and buses are accessible from various stops in the city, and some hotels offer free shuttles to the airport. Car rental agencies can be found in front of terminals one, two and three, and taxicabs and limos are located on the lower level curb front at all terminals. It can take up to 30 minutes to travel to the airport from downtown by car depending on the time of day. For those who want to eat before boarding their flight, the airport has several options to choose from. Starbucks is located in all terminals, offering a variety of blended coffees and fresh pastries. McDonald's has several breakfast items, including biscuits, bacon and juice, and Jamba Juice sells fresh smoothies and juice.

Phoenix is the capital city in Arizona. It is located in the southwestern portion of the state. The city is surrounded by several mountain ranges and is situated along the Salt River. Millions of travelers visit Phoenix and the surrounding area each year.

Travelers arriving in Phoenix from Chicago will arrive at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The airport is located 3 miles southeast of the central business district. It is Arizona's largest and busiest airport. The METRO Light Rail system has a stop near the airport, and free shuttles from the airport provide rides to the METRO. Several car rentals companies, including Enterprise and Advantage, can be found near the airport.

Phoenix experiences a hot, dry climate nearly all year. The hottest month of the year is July, when average daytime temperatures reach 102 degrees Fahrenheit. December is the coolest month, with average temperatures around 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Early spring and late fall, when temperatures are in the mid-70s, is the best time to visit Phoenix. Be sure to bring an umbrella during this time for protection from the occasional rain showers.

Phoenix has a lot to offer travelers. The Musical Instrument Museum showcases instruments from around the world. It also has a small music theater that features many concerts throughout the year. The Desert Botanical Garden is located in Papago Park. The gardens offer visitors a chance to learn about the many plants native to the region. Chase Field is home to the Arizona Diamondbacks professional baseball team. Games are held from April to October.
