American Airlines Baggage Allowance
You are allowed to take one carry-on bag and one personal item, which must fit under the seat in front of you. Your carry-on must fit in the sizer at the airport and in the overhead bin.
On some flights and for some passengers the first checked bag is complimentary but for other flights you will be charged for checked luggage, so check baggage allowances when booking. The fees can differ depending on your destination. The amount of luggage you can check also differs depending on where you are flying.
First class passengers and various other classes of traveller do not have to pay for certain amounts of checked baggage.
How to Check-in With American Airlines
There are several American Airlines flight check-in options. Online check-in starts 24 hours before departure and ends 45 minutes before take-off for domestic flights (and 90 minutes for international flights).
You can also check-in with your mobile and receive a digital boarding card.
There are also curbside check-in, self-service check-in and counter check-in options at the airport.
American Airlines Onboard Experience
American Airlines offers free entertainment on its flights. You can use its free WiFi on your personal devices or use the seatback/overhead screens to watch TV or movies. Snacks and drinks are available on flights over 250 miles, with non-alcoholic beverages complimentary. Meals and drinks are free on transcontinental and international flights.
