The apartment was good and clean.We did have trouble getting in so I would emphasize reading the directions closely. The lower east side is grittier than midtown where I usually stay but we felt safe in both the apartment and the neighborhood. We wanted a communal space which is why we didn’t stay at a hotel. The living space was nice for everyone to spread out, have coffee in the morning and chat, play cards, eat a meal. We used the fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, washer/dryer and dishwasher with no issues. The air con seemed to be turned off as we tried to use it…it was cool outside so we opened a couple of windows which cooled the apartment. There are also a couple of ceiling fans…a tower fan would have been nice. The bedrooms are small but they were fine. Both bathrooms are roomy with lots of storage space…we had plenty of hot water…you could actually get it very hot if you wanted. There was shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. The kitchen had almost everything we needed…we did buy some laundry detergent which we left for the next guests. Our only complaint was noise…there is street noise (late night conversations and the like) in the front bedroom. We had plumbing noise in the back bedroom. Slamming doors and loud footsteps in the hallway. I would suggest a good pair of ear plugs. We liked that there are lots of restaurants and grocery stores (Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s) in the area. The uber drivers never had an issue pickings up or dropping us off.

We came to NY when unfortunately it was 90 plus degrees, listing said it had A/CIt did not! and manager/owner said to use a remote control to turn it on. None of the units worked nor did remote control. Owner/Manager didn’t seem to care. In the listing it showed a clean garden patio outside apartment. We walked into the bedroom that lead to garden. Horse flies and ants. Probably because there was garbage and food in garden. After reporting that the owner/manager sent a guy over the next day to clean up the garden area and spray for bugs. Overall not a great experience staying there.

Pros: The space was large (esp for NYC) and accommodated our group of three well. Great location with easy access to transportation, restaurants, grocery store, etc. Comfortable beds. Cons: The listing address was unnecessarily confusing; it's no problem to reveal the exact address only when booked but just make it clear upfront that the address given is not the property and address will not be revealed until just before check in. Highly suggest a key pad for the doors so the dog-urine soaked key lockbox (and a key in general) would no longer be needed. The living room rug was terribly stained and looked awful.

Nice 2 bedroom, 2 bath ground floor apartment in the lower east side. Small kitchenette for breakfast or light cooking. In unit laundry, so you can pack light. 5 minute walk to the subway, plenty of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Host was great with communication, and check in was easy.

This apartment was in a great location on the Lower East Side. It was 2 blocks from the subway and the bus stop so there was easy access all around the city. The apartment was clean and as advertised. The owner was very responsive to our needs.

Perfect quiet street, perfect neighborhood, so many places to go around it. Apartment was adorable and clean! Only thing to note were the doors either needed a lock replaced or bedroom door did not close all the way. Absolutely recommend and would stay here again.

This apartment was perfect for our family. It was clean and comfortable. It looks exactly like the photos. We loved having two bedrooms and two bathrooms, especially with two teenagers. The back bedroom is very comfy. It is a very safe neighborhood and quiet street. We also found it very convenient with shops nearby (small convenience store, Target, etc). It was also great to be located on the ground floor and not have to deal with any elevators. It’s is only two blocks to the L line which allows easy transfers to other subway lines. This made it super easy to get to all the main attractions - Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Macys, Bryant Park, Chelsea Market, etc. Having a washer and dryer was also a must - particularly with the winter rain and snow during our trip. We did not use the kitchen as we mostly ate out. We had a fabulous trip and would definitely stay at this apartment again when we visit New York City.

This is a great location. Close to a subway entrance. Clean apartment. The only downside is that we only had hot water for half of our stay. The hot water stopped and it wasn’t fixed before we left.

We really enjoyed our time in the East Village at the New York Nook. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were comfy and warm. We were there in December and the heat works really well. Right near plenty of stores, shops and restaurants. Our favorite was Tompkins Square Bagels! Would stay here again.

The space was as advertised. Convenient near public transportation. We did see some bugs and I believe the front door lock needs to be replaced. The owner cannot control the neighbors and we started our stay on Halloween but the neighbors were loud slamming front door of the building and yelling in the hall at 2 - 3 am. Also, I would suggest somehow covering the hot water pipe in the master bedroom. Hot to the touch. Other than those things, we enjoyed our stay.

The host very responsive. The location was absolutely perfect for what we were looking to do, close to the subway, lots of restaurants and shops around, however the house was tucked away from hustle and bustle. The amenities met our needs and the beds were extremely comfortable.
