Everything looks good except my credit card was charged twice, once before checkin and once at check in..when I raised the issue with reception I was told that the first charge was just an authorization, not a sale. Of course I had no way of seeing the difference. Was told that the first charge would drop off after a few days. I guess I don't have any choice but to trust that this would happen. The reception staff were all very nice and even provided me with paperwork in case I'm charged twice, but I'm left to wonder if I would be charged twice for the few days that both charges stay in pending. I think an improvement can be made by just charging the amount once either before check or at check in, to save guests the worry of a double charge and any impending dispute over the charge.
Located in a central area, right across from the convention center. Rooms are old and worn, definitely not soundproof, you can hear everything from the alley outside as well as people in connecting rooms. Rooms are dark and cold (literally not well insulated so very cold). Parking can be a bit of a hike on the weekends as the hotel’s dedicated spots are slim and the entire downtown nightlife also shares the garage. The elevator is VERY rickety and feels like you may get stuck at any given moment. There are definitely better options in the area.
