I brought my three kids (ages 13, 8, 7) here for a weekend retreat for my birthday. I cannot say enough about Calamigos!!! The staff was great, the amenities top notch, and the cottage we had was so spacious. And on top of it all, the property was nestled perfectly in the most beautiful area. Super serene! We will be back!
We stayed at the Calamigos ranch for an extended weekend for a family wedding. The ranch was a perfect place to relax before and after the wedding. The pool is amazing with one pool heated to 97 and the other regular temperature. Sitting at the pool, we were treated to a complimentary 5 minute massage, lavender infused ice cubes so that we could cool down and raspberry sorbet. The attention to detail is fantastic. The staff is well trained and friendly. The valets were exceptional and hustled. Our car was waiting the next day for our early flight. The rooms are not huge but ample and cozy with nice appointed marble bathrooms. We had an amazing time.
Had a great time at the ranch resort. Our room was beautiful and our concierge along with the staff treated us wonderfully. Harrison B. went above and beyond for us at the cafe restaurant and made our trip so memorable. Even provided us with extra poo bags for our dog Charlotte. Super dog friendly. Exceeded our expectations!
This is a magical place. We had such a lovely time. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff was really helpful and friendly. Whether you want to relax at the spa, walk around the beautiful ranch or enjoy some food and play fun games at the restaurant you’re guaranteed to have an amazing time. It is truly magical and we are definitely coming back again. Special thanks to Jeff and Luis for making our experience extraordinary :)
This place is GORGEOUS. With every turn, there's an incredibly well decorated nook to discover. I appreciate the feeling of privacy you can find most everywhere. Don't underestimate how romantic and special this place is. That being said, it is a bit of a hike around the grounds, which is nice in that there's lots to explore but hard to get around quickly. It can also feel like a labyrinth finding rooms, which can be a lot of fun, but extremely confusing at night. We had an estate room which was HUGE, clean, and gorgeous. Had beautiful tall ceilings, gigantic bed, amazing round tub, a shower the size of a nursery. However, for the most expensive part of the hotel, getting back to the main communal areas was such a hike. We had the option to call the shuttle (a cool tesla) but you can imagine the wait at times for a 4 seater to get people around. Would have been nice if there were golf carts around to regularly take the highest paying customers at the very end of the property to the other end. The food service at the main pool was a bit slow as well. But aside from that, this place is so amazing and unique. Several perfect venues for a wedding. I would recommend to anyone.
I have been to Calamingos 4 times now. The place is constantly changing only for the better! I travel 3-4 weeks a month, staying at Four Seasons and Marriott/Ritz. I can comfortably say that the service at Calamingos is five star! The rooms are charming and I really enjoy all of the plants and foliage aside the paths. On this last visit I noticed a few new water features!! Bravo Calamingos’
I’m staying here this weekend and honestly the service is really terrible. I tried ordering food at the pool bar in the middle of the day and the kitchen was closed so only option was room service which took way over an hour to deliver. At night we tried to order food at the lobby but kitchen had closed. Everyone was rude and zero accommodating, which given the amount of money this place charges it’s really upsetting. Our room doesn’t even have a mini fridge so we’re in the middle of nowhere and they won’t even sell us a bag of chips. Ubereats, Caviar, Postmates wont deliver here... we’re receiving 1 star service for the price of 5 stars. Will not return.
It’s been only months after the devastating fires in Malibu and the land has burst into blooms surrounding the Calamigos Ranch. Despite sustaining personal losses and its beach club, the generous proprietors of Calamigos Ranch teamed up with entertainment maven and area resident, Jen Vernon, to host a benefit for community members impacted by the fire, which we attended last weekend. The combination of art, nature, live music, delicious gourmet pizzas from two outdoor ovens and the heart and soul of this community make us love this place even more. Breakfast overlooking one of the pools was exquisite and an afternoon at the Spa was relaxing with top notch massage therapy by Kelsey. Our group of friends did not want to leave the property, even after several days. Nature and human spirit lovers will find a soulful respite with service that is second to none.
This is a great place. Everyone is very helpful and the grounds are kept well. The pools are warm and clean. The breakfast area is very nice and the food is good, the waitress, Jerry, is the best and took very good care of us and our family. My niece had a wedding in the Oak Room, the waterfall background was very nice. The grounds are very large and spread out, but the cabins are quit and private. It seems to be a very environmentally friendly resort, they try to avoid disposable containers, so all the coffee cups and water bottles are glass.
My family and I ended up finding this little piece of heaven while on vacation. Finding the entrance was a bit tricky but with the help of a wonderful guy up front we were able to find it. This place is absolutely beautiful and was the highlight of our trip. Upon arrival my husband and I were given a glass of champagne to unwind as we checked in. The guy at the front desk (I wish we had his name) was very nice and even upgraded our room for free. Once we were settled in our room they called to see if we needed anything. They even sent us a welcome basket with a bottle of wine and milk and cookies for our little one. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer! The Hubbards will definitely be back!
