Although they are old, the rooms are spacious and clean, but the staff attitude makes it not worth staying at this hotel. I like that it is close to the airport, but I try to treat people politely, so I tend to expect the same.
Was surprised at how poor the mattress quality was in our room. Could feel the metal springs when laying on the mattress. Mattress was obviously very worn. Pregnant wife only got about 3 hours of sleep and eventually moved to the couch to try and sleep. Glad we were only at this hotel for 1 of our vacation nights. Sleep is most important thing for a hotel stay and if you can't get that right not much else matters. This hotel was definitely not up to the quality of other Residence Inns. First room we were assigned reeked of cigarette smoke, we were moved to a new room without problem when we requested this, so that part was only a minor inconvenience. Room was nice and spacious, breakfast was very good, but that didn't really matter because we didn't get any sleep.
This hotel is ideally located in Tampa to businesses, upscale restaurants, and shopping. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They went beyond my expectations to meet our needs during our stay. The room was very spacious king room with a living and kitchen area. The L shaped couch was a sleeper sofa and there was a nice desk area, kitchenette, and dinette table for two. Double closet area with separate lighted sink and vanity area from the toilet and tub/shower More than enough space for a one night stay. We stayed on a weds night and there was a happy hour with wine and cheese appetizers for guests. The only negative was the street noise. Our room was on the eighth floor but the room facing the street was a little bit noisy. Overall highly recommend this hotel and will stay again when in the area. It’s a great value and a quality hotel.
This is an older hotel with small rooms, too loud air conditioner, bad closet design, too soft bed. There appears to have been minimal updating since it was built. The staff at the front desk was friendly and enthusiastic but not very knowledgeable. They did put in a new bathroom sink and mirror but that just emphasizes how much the rest of the property needs to be updated. The air conditioning is a major problem in a couple of ways. It blows over the bed so you feel like every part of you should be under the covers. It also wakes you up with its loud pulsating noise. But, if you turn it off so you can sleep, the temperature in the room climbs quickly rapidly and that wakes you up. I have stayed at Marriott Residence Inns previously and they were, in general, very good properties. Some may find this property worthwhile and would return, but don't count me among them.
My family and I vacation in Tampa for two weeks every year. I use to live there a few years ago and always like coming back. Since 2015 we’ve been staying at Residence Inn after the hotel we once used shut down. I can honestly say this hotel is one of the reasons we keep coming back to TPA. Service is excellent, rooms are clean, parking is ample and you could not ask for a better location. Our latest trip was the beginning of May. When we checked in there was a minor issue with our room and a call downstairs resulted in a quick response and the manager added an 5,000 extra points to my Marriott Rewards account! While our stay was almost perfect with a 4 out of 5 i would say the only real issue was the location of the room. This was the first time we stayed in a room closer to the road to the south of the hotel. Cars passing were noisy. I would suggest always requesting a room to the opposite end of the hotel. Also, we stayed in a 2 bedroom suite for 12 nights and housekeeping came in only once. Now to be honest many days we had to “no service” sign up but by day 5 we took the sign down and still could not get service because after being out all day and coming home after 3 or 4 the housekeeper had still not reached our room. When she did clean our room a day or two later it was spotless. There was some roof work going on. But i liked the fact that even before it started they slipped notes under the door informing us how long it would last and indicating we could cancel our stay without penalty and where additional parking could be found because the construction equipment was going to take up space. OVERALL: The stay was good although not as perfect as it usually is. Slow house keeping and room location were minor issues. I would stay here again and again and again. Oh and the prices are always consistent and value for money can’t be beat!
If you are traveling on business, this hotel works for a couple of nights. The hotel is a bit hard to find if you are driving, so watch your GPS closely. Also, the parking lot is a bit tight, it looked like late night travelers had to squeeze their cars into the lot for a place to park. Rooms are standard, although they appear to be upgraded. Everything worked fine, although I couldn't figure out how or why they decided to have the bathroom vanity installed so low. It's almost like it was designed for only the handicapped. That said, the lighting is great in the bathroom and a good, clean bathroom. Sleep quality is also very good. Aircon worked great and you can keep the fan running at night to provide a little "white noise" as well as room comfort. Breakfast is typical for the RI. I wish all of the RI's I stay in would offer more fresh fruit options - or fresh fruit that doesn't look like it had been prepared days in advance. I guess they have the Mon-Wed evening extended welcome hour. Good thing as your restaurant options are next to nothing if you are walking ( do NOT go to LeRoy Selman's across the parking - HORRIBLE.) Very nice to see they have a van that will take you around; this gives you lots of food options.
Hotel is great and the staff is very pleasant, especially Michelle, who went out of her way on my requests. It was a nice surprise to see that they had free light fare on Monday's, Tuesday's and Wednesday's as well as free beer and wine. Hotel is very quiet and never heard other guests or noise in the hallways. Pool is very relaxing. Shuttle schedule is very good.
The hotel is good. Preferably for long term travel. It has in house kitchen. They provide free dinner from Monday to Wednesday as part of happy hours.they provide free shuttle to ofc within 3 miles and airport and international plaza. Breakfast is good but not many options for vegetarian.
Stayed here for a week, this hotel is very modern, the rooms are big, they have full kitchens, etc. The front desk is staff is simply amazing here. They are so much fun, always joking, having a good time. Nice to see people who really enjoy working. I didn't have any issues. The fire pit at the pool is great! Two nights they did food and free beer for the guests at the pool area.
My sister and I stayed in a two bedroom suite in this hotel. It was clean and quiet, the beds were very comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and make our stay a great one. I highly recommend this as a place to stay for anyone.
