Amazing location. Excellent and very attentive staff. Love that its got the older historical feel to it but modernized with great amenities.
I did not liked the lack of awareness and communication among hotel staff. For example, no communication between them about whenever a fire alarm emergency sounds on, none is aware of the reason, even a day later from the event, making it hard for us the hotel guests to trust the security measures while still wondering what happened. Also it is not clear that most of the room windows are facing inwards, specially to the hallway were the outside elevators are, no privacy and had to shut down the curtains making my room more darker suffocating. I would suggest placing a decorative plants in the elevators hallways to provide more privacy to room guests.
I stayed at a Deluxe Room with no bathtub. It is very good, super clean, cozy and the bed was very comfortable. The ba5hroom is really cool and big and only reason I didn’t rate it as Excellent was that the the shower didn’t have a door nor a curtain. The floor outside got very wet after every shower and I really don't like when this happens. Other than that I will definitely stay there again and recommend to my friends

Perfect downtown location right across from the water and a park, with beautiful view of the the pier. Can walk to everything. Very clean nice room. Rooftop bar. No pool. Upscale Eclectic vibe. Would recommend. We will be back.
Property is located in a perfect location for walking around downtown with easy access to shopping, restaurants and night life. The hotel property is historic, but not outdated. Our room was spacious, clean and beautifully appointed. Staff were very courteous and helpful throughout our stay. Our only complaint about the room was there were too few towel racks in the bathroom, but that is hardly major complaint in my view. Just keeping it honest.
You always feel included in the night life at the Birch, even if you just want to have a drink in your room and turn in early.
Check in was awkward...especially given staff concern with waiting car. Access to room was limited to entry around restaurants and staff member questioned our access to hotel elevator. Room was comfortable and clean and hotel location was excellent.
Oh my god. So nice. Thought I died and went to heaven. I’ve eaten at the restaurant other times- amazing. Breakfast was so so. Staff- excellent. Location-excellent. Upstairs cocktail bar- wonderful. My room was large, beautiful. Had a bit of trouble with the tv but I’m bad at that sort of thing. Would go there again and again. Wish it was less $$$$
This is an excellent boutique hotel conveniently located on the St Pete waterfront. The hotel is nicely appointed and the beds are super comfey.
We spent 2 nights at The Birchwood. Our suite had a dirty laundry bin and room service trays outside our door. The interior lighting was very poor and we had difficulty reading in the room. Our last night consisted of very little sleep for there was an altercation outside our suite with 2 women (staying in the hotel) and 2 men with throwing of glass bottles; obviously a lot of alcohol had been consumed. The authorities had to remove the men and then we tried to sleep! The roof top bar may be a problem with so many people consuming lots of alcohol. It is not a quiet place!
This is a special place. Our room was fabulous with a led rainfall shower and a spacious claw foot bathtub.

Hi Ana, it sound like you actually stayed in one of our ADA King Rooms, our handicap accessible rooms. These rooms do not have the bathtub and the shower is wheelchair accessible (which is why there is no curtain or ledge). We apologize if there was any confusion at the time of booking. We are glad to hear you enjoyed everything otherwise! Our Deluxe King rooms overlook the park and the bay across the street and do have the clawfoot tub in addition to a step-in shower with glass door and rainfall shower head

Hi Liajay, thank you for your review and for sharing your concerns with us. I apologize if you felt there was a lack of communication regarding the fire alarm going off but of course our top priority during those events is simply evacuating the building (guests and staff alike) as fast as possible. Nobody could be aware of the reason the alarm is triggered at the time of the apparent emergency and the full cause was not discovered until 24 hours later (during which time our staff were conducting full building sweeps every 30 minutes in accordance with Fire Watch Procedures). Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during that issue.
