Old structure. No room service provided for 5 days. Personnel stiff and unavailable to understand nerds of a family with little kids. Not going back, even if the location close to the beach was very good.

Booked a room with view, but the room had the view of tennis court and parking lot, wry disappointed and not offered what has been paid for. I would never go back there. Also the check in staff was not at all friendly.

The property is located right by the ocean, which is its selling point. It has a tennis and pickleball courts. It has a pool and a hot tub. Those are the only positives it has. The room assigned was less than subpar for the type of hotel it advertises to be and at the price point paid. It's outdated and needs maintenance. The light switches unit for the entry hall was dislodged from the wall, which not only isn't a great aesthetic look but is also a safety hazard. The service at the restaurant is slow, and the breakfast buffet is quite embarrassing for its paucity. This should, at most, be a $150-200 per night for regular room hotel, and not multiples of that. Not likely to stay again.

I loved that the beach was so close. One thing I would of appreciated is that is the staff was able to clean our room in the middle of our 4 night stay.

This hotel had it all - pool, poolside bar, beach access, restaurants. It was very clean and rooms very very quiet even though it was full! Would definitely go back!

Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for falling short of meeting your expectations. We appreciate your comments regarding refreshing the building and are constantly renovating on a regular basis to keep the hotel updated. As you can imagine, our plans were set back somewhat in 2020, however, we look forward to change in 2021 and 2022. Whilst an apology will regrettably not alter the outcome of your recent experience, I do extend it with all sincerity. We always appreciate when our valued guests take the time to share their concerns with us through which then enables us to continue to improve our service and focus on these issues. It is truly a critical way of understanding how we can continue to deliver great experiences. Based on your feedback we saw that you rated your Intent to Recommend a “2”; however, we also noticed that there were many missed opportunities. Concerning the guestrooms, we do realize that the guestrooms are definitely in need of a total renovation. The Sheraton Sand Key Resort has been on this beautiful and tranquil island for many years and that was the design of the era in which the hotel was built, at that time there was a different concept of room design. We are constantly renovating, replacing the worn with new, making changes and improvements, still we realize there is more to be done. We actually had a total guestroom renovation scheduled for 2020, however, unfortunately due to the current circumstances, we had to postpone that project. Please accept our apology for not meeting all your expectations during your stay. I do hope when next your travels bring you back to the beautiful and tranquil Island of Sand Key you will give the Sheraton Sand Key Resort a chance to better serve your needs. Thank you for choosing to stay at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort and providing your honest feedback. We were so sorry to see that you did not enjoy your time with us. We try to ensure every guest has a wonderful experience and when we fail to do this we take it very seriously. We do have a couple of outside dining options and have servers poolside depending on weather and occupancy. The pool bar stays open until sunset so the time gets progressively later as the days get longer. Unfortunately, due to Sand Key’s noise ordinance we are unable to have loud music or keep the bar open later. That said, what is so great about being just over the bridge from Clearwater Beach is that it is only a walk or free trolley (show your room key) ride away to all that activity and entertainment. There are also several dining venues and shops just a 5-minute walk across the street. We hope you will return to the beautiful and tranquil Island of Sand Key again soon as there is much to do and explore. You’re a valued customer; everything we do is aimed at providing you with an excellent hotel experience. We will work with our concierge to ensure that we have a wider selection of ‘things to do’ to also better meet the needs of our more discerning guests. Please accept my most sincere apologies for this negative experience and I do hope that we will have a chance to redeem ourselves at some stage, when next you decide to visit.
