Just spent 8 nights at the dolphin Beach. We got a beach view room. They are nice sized and have a three drawer chest ,4 drawer dresser and closet with plenty of hangers so there is plenty of clothes storage. Nice little fridge/ microwave area with plenty of cabinet space. Nice grocery store just across the street. Great location for things to do. Nice larger pool with great views of the beach. Staff was helpful and friendly. Hotel is not brand new but very clean and everything worked. Beach rentals with cabanas and other things right in front of hotel. The only thing that is not the greatest is litter on the beach. Cigarette butts, and other small items like this. They emptied beach trash cans every day and had people picking up garbage but it was still there. Have not been on a lot of other beaches to compare it to others.

Just left a week at the Dolphin Beach Resort. We were able to check in early which was nice. The grounds are nice and we'll kept. It's a beautiful location just a few steps from the gulf. There were 2 days that our room was missed by housekeeping, once we popped in our room from the beach in the evening we called the front desk and it was taken care of. Also twice we were not left soap, shampoo, or toilet paper. The first time was quickly fixed, the second time took 3 phone calls and a day and a half. There was more good to let a few little things put a bad taste in our mouth. I think we would stay again

The Dolphin is a very nice place to stay on the beach at moderate price. It’s an older population but still an enjoyable spot. Great location you don’t need a car, you can walk to most dining and beach places.

The rooms are not to bad, they only change the sheets once a week that needs work, no freezer for your ice cream so don't get it. Front desk has no manners and comes off rude. Don't look for a waist basket out front or in the lobby,

A little dated. Clean and comfortable. Very nice pool. But no hot tub. Pool/beachside bar was convenient with decent food but not great service. We would stay here again.

The proximity to the beach was awesome and the pool was nice. The room however was nasty. The carpet turned our feet black!

I was on a low budget trip and I completely know what that can mean. The hotel was not booked so I was completely dissapointed that they gave me the worst room location possible. There really was no need of it. There are two options for no view room. They gave me the corner dumpster view. All the cleaning staff were delightful. I was next to there office and they ways had a friendly hello. The front desk staff not so much. The hotel advertises they are on the trolley route but they provide no information. I was on the beach so I sucked it up but on my last night when I went to the desk and asked about late check out due to a late flight and a short morning trip I planned they said no problem come down at nine A.M. At nine I went to the desk and the associate informed me rudely that "we don't do that on Fridays. I told them to stop telling people that". It is my opinion she should have honored my request due to the fact my morning was planned around it. That was my deciding moment that I would never go back.

nice staff and customer service was good. quiet location away from the bigger resorts and within budget. Drinks at tiki bar were reasonably priced.

I reserved a balcony with ocean view from Orbitz. I was asked to choose my room and I did. When I checked in they tried to say that was not guaranteed and gave me a patio room with pool view. At the same rate as the room I reserved. I was not having it. I told the person I reserved a balcony beach view, showed her my reservation showing the room I reserved, it said nothing about not being guaranteed. Reluctantly she did give me the room I reserved. I also saw them do that to another couple, I didn't know their circumstances, maybe they didn't use Orbitz. Also the housekeeping staff was short, consequently my room was done late in the day. And the wifi sucked it was not powerful enough to send or receive messages. There was nothing in the room about the area, things to do, things to see, shopping experiences.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, but it's time to update the facility. Would we stay again? Yes.

The accommodations were good, but you could tell that the hotel was in need of some upgrading. Staff were very kind.

Staff was rude. I wouldn't take kids there. Rooms were gross. Beds are small!

Not the fanciest hotel but clean and great location. The pool area is nice and you are directly on the beach. I will stay here again.

Overall a good experience, but needs a towel service at the pool. Right on the beach and a bar with food and live music. Rooms were basic but large and comfortable.

Just left a week at the Dolphin Beach Resort. We were able to check in early which was nice. The grounds are nice and we'll kept. It's a beautiful location just a few steps from the gulf. There were 2 days that our room was missed by housekeeping, once we popped in our room from the beach in the evening we called the front desk and it was taken care of. Also twice we were not left soap, shampoo, or toilet paper. The first time was quickly fixed, the second time took 3 phone calls and a day and a half. There was more good to let a few little things put a bad taste in our mouth. I think we would stay again

Thank you very much for your review! We are glad that you enjoyed your week long stay with us, but also took the time to mention a few items that could be improved for the future. I will be showing this review to our Executive Housekeeper so that she can try to figure out how your room was missed twice during a 7 day stay. That is not acceptable, nor is it acceptable to have to ask for soap, shampoo, and toilet paper. Overall, I am glad that the positives of your stay seem to have outweighed any negatives, but we will be hard at work to fix the few kinks you mentioned to create the best overall guest experience for the future.

I am unable to determine your specific room or who you dealt with during your stay since your review is anonymous, but I will alert all of our department heads to your comments regarding the lack of friendliness. I am not sure about the 'no ventilation' comments, but I am assuming you had a standard or pool view room without a balcony/patio which wouldn't allow for fresh air. We do appreciate your decision to stay with us, but wish that we had performed at a higher level during your stay with us.

The Dolphin is a very nice place to stay on the beach at moderate price. It’s an older population but still an enjoyable spot. Great location you don’t need a car, you can walk to most dining and beach places.

Thank you for your review. Our housekeeping standards state that sheets are to be changed every three days during a guest's stay, unless the guest requests otherwise. I will be sure to mention it to our Executive Housekeeper so that she can investigate it further. I would also like to know which desk clerks you dealt with during your stay so that I can inform our Front Office Manager. You are correct that we do not have a waste basket in our lobby, but we do have one right outside of the lobby by our patio. I will bring up the lack of a garbage can in the lobby to our general manager and see if we can amend that situation. While I wish your stay with us would have been a completely positive one, I appreciate you taking the time to mention a few areas in which we can improve. Feedback likes yours will allow us to provide a better experience for our future guests.

A little dated. Clean and comfortable. Very nice pool. But no hot tub. Pool/beachside bar was convenient with decent food but not great service. We would stay here again.

We recently completed renovations on our guest room baths and have additional renovations planned for the future. We are confident that once they are completed, the dated feel some reviewers describe will be completely eliminated. We are glad that you enjoyed our location and pool, but are disappointed that your room did not live up to expectations. The condition of the carpet in your room as described by you above is not acceptable. Without the specific room number we are unable to investigate and thoroughly inspect your room, but we would very much like to do so. Please feel free to use the message function on this webpage to securely provide us with your room number so that we can address the carpet issue. I also hope that you brought this issue up during your stay with us so that housekeeping/maintenance were made immediately aware. If that is the case, I am certain that the carpet has been shampooed or replaced by now if warranted.

Thank you for your honest feedback about your recent stay with us. I am unsure as to what you mean about two options for a no view room. We do have two wings of the property, one facing north and one facing south, but both have similar views of the parking lot. None of the rooms actually overlook the dumpster either, since our dumpsters are behind the kitchen (which doesn't have rooms above it) surrounded by concrete walls on three sides. Regardless, we certainly could have done a better job getting you a room location more to your liking or moved you if you made your displeasure known to our front desk staff. In regards to the lack of information about the trolley route: I will talk to our Front Office Manager about re-educating our front desk clerks in addition to trying to procure maps of the trolley routes that we can hand out to our guests. The final qualm that you mentioned in your review about being told you would have a late checkout and then not having it granted is not acceptable. It is true that we do not allow for late checkouts on high turnover days such as Friday, Saturday, and Holidays. However, if a guest is told something by a staff member, then we have an obligation to honor it (this is unless the staff member absolutely refutes that the guest was told what they are alleging). You are absolutely right that you should have been allowed to stay in your room until the previously granted late checkout time. I will be sure to bring this up, in addition to the trolley route maps, with our Front Office Manager tomorrow. While I am disappointed that you will not be returning to our property in the future, we do hope that you have not soured on the area of St. Pete Beach as a whole.
