Stayed here for 3 nights with my husband and two kids this past week. Pros: -Good location. One block away from the beach. Just cross over through the surf shop right in front, and you're at the beach. Two queen beds- sofa and partial gulf views.-Rooms were a decent size for a family of 4. -All front desk staff, bartender, and basically, anyone I encountered was nice, polite, and helpful. Cons: -breakfast is definitely in need of some variety. There were a lot of pastries and sweets, which is not our usual breakfast choice. -Pool overall was big and clean on our first 2 days; however, I would have preferred staff to be a bit more strict with rules of no food and beverages. A rambunctious group showed up on our 3rd day and just left a mess. My kids found wrappers and cups in the pool. -Lastly, we had no room service during our stay. Upon check-in, I was told that due to covid restrictions, room service would happen once during our stay. Well, that didn't happen at all. Not a big deal for us but should be considered since it's a big part of staying at a hotel. Overall I would recommend the hotel if you can overlook the little details. It's moderately priced and meets the need of being close to the beach.
The staff was friendly. However, the water view was basically looking at the murky pool and a sliver of the bay. The lobby was just as the pictures identified and clean. Gym appeared to be missing weights from the picture and at least one of the elipticals was broken. Many of the carpeted floors seem to be dirty and stained. We got locked out of our bathroom due to a screw that came loose from the track. They were able to get us back in after later at night by removing the door and setting it off to the side.
I dont
very close to the beach and local restaurants
It was great choice
I arrived early and asked if I could do an early check in where I was told that my room type was not ready and would be called when it was. I went shopping and had lunch with friends and returned at 4 PM which was the original check in time only to be told that the room was still not ready and again would be called. At almost 2.5 hours later, after sitting in the lobby / bar area with no communication, I went back to the front desk to ask if my room was ready only to be told “oh, look at that, it just became available”... just like that. No compensation and an (empty) apology with reasons & excuses behind what was currently happening that I didn’t want to hear was just too much. I chose this location because we are Bonvoy members personally & in business. Marriott has never let me down before but this was ridiculous. Evidently the management doesn’t know or care about what their guests are going through and after hearing that a room was double booked by the evening manager which allowed a perfect stranger (male) to enter said room where a young woman was in the shower was a bit scary as well as concerning. At the end of the day, the room was clean & comfortable but after the waiting, being promised a discount then a refund that never happened, it makes me think that another Marriott property will better suit my next trip to Clearwater, unless Springhill makes some serious changes at this location. It’s a shame since the location is great.
I like Everything about it. Our key quit working the next morning it was impossible to get back in my room with only 1 girl working the check in line with 5 family’s in line, tryin to get a key for my room. Other then that excellent.
This hotel is brand new its very nice and clean. I absolutely loved the bathroom and the room was spacious. Close to everything. I will definitely stay again.
It wasn’t horrible. But it wasn’t good. Next time I’ll spend the extra $ for a better hotel. I thought, based off Orbitz reviews and the pricing, that this would be a more upscale establishment. It fit closer to a Days Inn than a Marriott property. But then again, that’s how I felt about all of Clearwater Beach. Next time I’ll head a few miles south and have a better overall experience.
