The condo was beautiful and the location was decent. A car is a must - nothing is within walking distance. The property staff was mixed (the person at the front desk seemed a bit grumpy, but everybody can have a bad day...), and the concierge was upbeat and not too pushy about the time share. It was easy to decline the time share presentation (even though we would have gotten $200 for it...).

Dirty carpet and windows. Dated furniture. Smelly room. Good kitchen amenity. Good service.

Property is a bit old. But overall is fine. DVD player doesn't seem to work.

Condo was in great condition with good bedrooms and bathrooms. Kitchen was stocked with plenty of dishes and cookware and amenities like Kauai coffee. Good access to cycling/walking path that leads to beaches, shopping plaza. Customer service was great.

Check in was not smooth and it took more than an hour to be assigned a room after the usual check in time of 4pm. Despite having submitted weeks before a request for the second bedroom to have two beds, they were assigning us a second bedroom with one bed. So, even though a request was submitted to the resort through Orbitz, this was essentially ignored.

Excellent Bed, very clean and spacious.... Quick access to the beach and running path

We knew it was a nice resort but it went beyond our expectations. Size, comfort, cleanliness, staff & the amenities were amazing. Definitely did not expect all this for the price we paid. We actually thought there had been a mistake in the room we got. Fortunately for us ... there was no mistake. Great place

Loved most everything about the resort. The pools were nice, the units were well maintained and clean. Only complaint is the aggressive tactics used by the concierge staff to sign you up for sales presentation. After I repeatedly told them I did not want to attend, they still signed me up and then complained that I did not attend the morning of my departure.

hotel staff was very nice and helpful. we had a 2 br 2bath condo with my family of 5 it was perfect for us we liked the location being on the north side of the island didn't mind it not being on a beach

This is one of the finest resorts we have ever experienced over the past 20 plus years.

I would probably again stay there when I am in Hawaii. Relatively affordable with all household items needed

Had a very nice stay at Bali Hai. Rooms were lovely and location very convenient to Hanalei and the North Shore. Upstairs room was desperate for a/c. Have stayed in other places in HI w/o a/c and had no problems, but even with all fans humming it was very hot especially for my wife who the vacation was for. Maybe a lower unit would have been cooler. Otherwise a nicely landscaped complex with 2 lovely pools. Only other complaint was the time share push from the concierge when we picked up our parking pass. Mahalo

The resort only has few rooms equipped with air conditioner, and the staff won't tell you the truth while checking in. It's ridiculous for guests to bear with 86 degree without air conditioner. Finally we had to find another hotel after effortless complaining to the resort.

We had a great time here. Only two things could make it better, ocean view and AC, but it was very nice.

Gorgeous landscaping, easy access to main road in Princeville; lots of walking trails nearby, near beautiful Anini Beach which has a natural reef so great for swimming and watching turtles. Very friendly staff - lots of room in 2 bdr condo Gentle Trade winds cooled the rooms. Huge soaker tub. Large kitchen - we cooked all meals easily.

The villa was clean with a beautiful waterfall right outside my bedroom window. The staff was helpful making arrangements for our touring pleasure and setting us up with the Smith Luau-show and food. kitchen was complete with grocery store within 5 minutes to gather those foods to grill or cook. No litter anywhere on the grounds. Only drawback was there is limited lighting going into the resort but once in Bali Hai there is light galore-tough if you get there after dark. You need to be on the NORTH SHORE this is the place to be,

The condo was nicely laid out and easily accommodated us. It was clean, and had an adequate amount of kitchen and cooking utensils, nice fluffy bath and beach towels. However, the sofa bed was a sleep killer and back breaker. I advise asking for a roll-away. The staff was very nice and the swimming pools were delightful. There was no view in our unit, but we enjoyed eating outside on our lanai. All in all, it was a very nice place to stay.

Exceeded our expectations from the moment we pulled into the drive. Staff very friendly and helpful. Always someone around, even outside, to help you. Clean unit and amazingly comfortable even though there isn't air conditioning, always a breeze! After seeing other areas on the island, we were very glad we made our reservations here!!

Bad: People above can be heard walking around. Neighbor smoked on his patio which smelled up our whole unit. Unit (#210) was next to clubhouse, so, employees took their phone breaks right next to our windows. Front desk people very short over phone. Good: Spacious 2 bdrm with fully equipped kitchen with ice maker, cookware, dishwasher and washer/dryer.Decent mini home stereo

we stayed at this accommodation for two nights before we went to stay at our final house on Hanalei Bay. It depends on what you are looking for, but to me this place lacked character big time, it's one of those typical timeshare places built on a golf course setting, which could be anywhere on this planet, I didn't have the feeling we were on Kaua'i at all... (except for the great weather) The first morning we were invited for a continental welcome breakfast, where we could also pick up our parking pass. This turned out to be a shrewd way to lure us into buying excursions, and the even tried to talk us into attending a timeshare presentation. Not the thing you expect when you just paid almost 600 dollars for a two night stay, this to me was a major turnoff... The other turnoff was that one of the toilets in the apartment kept spewing other peoples feces, and made the one bedroom smell really bad, not to mention the fact that it made me almost throw up twice ;) But i'm sure this must have been an incidental thing. On the positive side, it is a very spacious apartment, with a great kitchen full of good kitchen supplies. also a nice patio for a dinner outside, and a jacuzzi in the master bathroom. >> If you are looking for a spacious apartment with total lack of character that could be anywhere on this planet, this could be the place for you! But then again i'm more a person that loves authenticity and history...
