This is a great property and there is lot of stuff for kids to do! Hotel is amazing it has great feel of an art gallery! has plenty of pools and slide for the kids to enjoy! Dolphin show was right under our lanai so kids could watch trainers do their stunts with them. Although being a Gold Elite Member with Hilton they were not too keen to upgrade despite the fact that almost half the hotel was empty, they go by the book which makes me wonder why do you need the front desk staff if they can't make a guests experience better... as per the membership I know what my upgrades would be but if you don't make anything better then that when you can it does not make it special for the guest to write a glowing review about the front desk. Hotel restaurants are pricy for the food quality, in fact the Italian restaurant was super disappointing. Big Breakfast value is fantastic with lots of options... their is paddle boats and standup paddling which kids enjoyed! overall a fantastic place for families...
We stayed here on our excursion to Big Island. The first thing you notice is how massive the place is for no apparent reason. On check in we were clearly bait and switched out of an upgrade and got the old “only upgrade room available has a double bed.” You would think that with so many hotels doing the same thing tactics would evolve...clearly they don’t but nothing new. We were there for two nights and stayed in the palace tower, booking through Expedia. We had to ride a train to get to our room, which was a bit ridiculous and gives you a sense of the size of the place. The monitors at the train stops were old and gave you no indication of where the train was on the property. The train itself looked like a disney monorail in disrepair. Because of these things we opted to take the 15 minute walk from the lobby to our room. The outdoor pathways were lined with asian artwork. Japanese and Chinese sculptures, pots and paintings lined the walk ways. The pieces were poorly maintained and at night some of the large Oni statues were terrifying. If it is indeed valuable artwork it is a tragedy how poorly maintained the pieces are. If they are not authentic then it is the biggest collection of junk I have ever seen. The other problem is the hotel was eerily quiet. No ambient music, nothing. It felt at times like the property was completely abandoned and my wife in particular felt unsafe when we walked back from dinner one night and there was not a single person in sight anywhere in the hotel! The short, I think we will shell out the extra money next time and stay somewhere else in Waikoloa. Anywhere else really will do.
Great vacay for family. Something for everyone to do. Awesome water slides, beautifully kept grounds, incredible views. Suite has a spectacular view but definitely needed have a redo. Smiling supportive staff - would return
Beautiful location with every resort amenity (and more) you could want. Staff is wonderful, location is breathtaking. We have stayed at many other resorts and this location was by far the best in our 25+ years of family travel. We will be back.
Beautifully landscaped hotel with plenty of sea turtles to watch in the very clear water just sea side of the hotel's lagoon. The grounds are a joy to walk around with stunning seascapes around every corner. Had a pleasant chilled vegan lunch at the Lagoon Grill. Facilities on offer at hotel are excellent but come at a cost.
We stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Village for our recent girls' trip to Hawaii and had an absolutely amazing time! Everything was perfect. Our room had plenty of space for the 6 of us and we never felt crowded or on top of each other. The grounds were immaculate and beautifully landscaped. The food in every restaurant was delicious, as were the drinks. The pools were never crowded, and there were plenty of lounge chairs scattered around. And throughout the corridor, that went from one end of the property to the other, there were artifacts, statues, carvings and other pieces of art to admire as you walked. There's also a tram to take you back and forth if you prefer. To top it off, the lagoon had sea turtles that swam right near you. It was one of the highlights of our trip!! The dolphins were also fun to see. We came across flamingos, ne-ne (the state bird I believe) were right below our balcony in the morning, and we even saw a mongoose or two! We were there to celebrate a 50th birthday and we were not disappointed. Our room, in Ocean Tower, had a "partial" ocean view.... and while we overlooked the end of the golf course, the ocean was just beyond it and made for beautiful sunsets. Our room, which was actually a two bedroom suite, had a complete kitchen and living space. There is so much to do there, you don't ever have to leave! We learned how to make a flower lei one morning and then another day we made a kukui nut lei. Hula lessons also filled an afternoon, as did a ukelele lesson. I even went paddle boarding in the lagoon and enjoyed all the marine life swimming around me! We ate at every restaurant on the premises and each one was delicious. We had one hiccup on the trip in one of the eateries (the waitress left a lot to be desired and made it seem we were a bother, which translated into an attitude by her and very poor service) but when brought to the attention of the food manager, it was remedied immediately! I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. It's within walking distance to 2 local shopping centers and many other restaurants. Plus you can go to the Marriott and stay on their beach, which is sand. (the beach at the Hilton is very rocky so laying out in the sun isn't an option. But you can walk on it and see the lava and coral) There's a shuttle that can take you to all of those places nearby for a very small fee (though we didn't mind walking). All in all, our stay was amazing and memorable. I can't wait to go back. In fact, I'm already planning on a return trip to Hawaii in the next few years!
Once you arrival at this beautiful hotel, you will not want to leave. Everything you need is there. Don't miss the early morning dolphin training shows, or snorkeling in their lagoon with the gentle green turtles & colorful fish. Views are terrific, & food + drinks delicious. Mahalo! (Thanks!) We will be back.
Stayed at the Palace Tower for 4 days - 3 nights. From the Valet/Bellmen to the Front Desk check-in the Hilton Staff demonstrated superb customer services. They immediately made you feel welcomed. In the early evening they have live music in the center of the Lobby. When you check-into your hotel room there is a greeting telephone message awaiting you. They also offer 24X7 concierge Texting , providing a number if you had any questions and/or problems during your visit. The Tram or Boat ride to get to your tower is quaint and the schedules are posted on Channel 4 on the room TV as well as visible signs where you wait to board. Their various snack and gift shops are strategically placed and can take care of your needs. They also provide shuttle services to the King's & Queen's Courts for more shopping and eating places. They also have various Adults and Children's Swimming Pools of your choice to relax and take in the sunshine.
Facilities were top notch, great staff, good food but a bit $$$ on the grounds. Hawai’i- absolutely beautiful views, great art work everywhere, staff very attentive and “Aloha, May I help you?” constantly enquirer by staff. Going back next year.
We came for a timeshare presentation. There is no beach at this hotel, just lava rocks. They have a man-made lagoon, which is pretty, but semi-submerged when the tide comes in. There are some sea turtles in the lagoon that you can get close to, but it as against the law in Hawaii to touch or disturb them. I think it is pretty hard to sell a timeshare on Hawaii without a beach. The room was comfortable, but old and not renovated; we learned that the building is going to be converted to timeshares in the future, so obviously they do not intend to improve it. The view was great - direct ocean view at the end of the last circle, but we had to upgrade to get it. Also we had to endure a Japanese "meeting" in front of our room for 8 hours a day for two days. I called the front desk but they seemed to know nothing about it, so we had to close our slider for peace and put up with the irritation. The resort is HUGE and you need to travel by monorail or boat to get from the Ocean Tower to the lobby. You could walk, but who has the time? The Big Breakfast is a typical breakfast buffet for $40 per person. The "expensive restaurant" boasts chicken for $60. I paid $23 for a six pack of beer in the hotel store. We ordered room service one night which was delivered in a paper bag - the items were off-the-shelf hummus and chips, etc., for about $115. The staff was great and very nice, and helpful, no complaints about any of them. Just a too-expensive place to stay for what you receive.
