Upon checking into our room we realized they had placed us in the wrong room. We paid for the penthouse which has three beds, and they put us in a room with one king bed. The staff asked us if we were sure we booked the right room as if it was our error so we showed her our confirmation and then she had us wait in the room while she figured it out. It took at least 30 minutes for the general manager to call and when she did all she said was I can refund your money or split you into two rooms. The reason I booked the penthouse was to celebrate my sister on getting engaged with our friends so separate rooms wasn’t ideal. I asked the general manager Luseane why we weren’t placed in the original room requested and she said it was because of a leak, so I asked why no one had called me prior to notify me...her reply? Well we thought it’d be fixed, alright so when you realized it wasn’t you thought you could just place me in a room with one bed and charge me for the penthouse? The general manager just glared at me and said well what do you want me to do, well a phone call would’ve been nice then she replied “well I can just refund you the full amount” insinuating that we should just take our refund and leave. Since every place was sold out due to it being prom weekend as well, we took the split rooms. This is the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had and I would never bring business here again!! It was awful! The general manger wasn’t helpful or even apologetic

Loved Maui and the Kohea-Kai. Everything in the resort operated as it should. The staff(Lucy, Robin,etc) was welcoming, friendly and helpful. We were even given an upgrade in our room!. The area was tropical, as I imagined Hawaii to be, yet we were close to shopping and many restaurants.My best vacation ever!

This was the perfect hotel for our 10-day stay on Maui. It's small, personable, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The garden seating for breakfast was lush and peaceful, and it's situated in the middle of the western side of Maui so it was easy to go to beaches and sightseeing both north and south. We would definitely stay here again.

Great quality for the price in Maui. The staff has been very kind and helpful suggesting us places to go and providing guides of the island. The room was a nice studio on the first floor facing the ocean. We enjoyed the roof top to see the sunset on the ocean and the internal patio to have breakfast and lunch in the quite garden. The hotel is in a good location in Maui, at short drive distance from beautiful beaches and very convenient for snorkeling tours begin a few miles from the harbor.

Pleasant small hotel/resort right across the road from the beach. Many small plusses, for example beach equipment for free loan, bbq grill by the pool, nice breakfast. The new owners are thoroughly engaged and are trying hard to give every guest a good experience. The only negative for us was that the air conditioner was noisy (and necessary, because we happened to be there during a hot, muggy spell).

The front desk guy was really helpful, knowledgeable and funny! In customer service its always great to see a smiling face and someone with a pleasant attitude :-) thank you for all your help even though we only stayed one night, they treated me awesomely!! I will stay again!

Only there overnight but got great night's sleep after very long flight.

We had a nice stay at Kohea Kai! Friendly staff, cute room and a beautiful view of the water!! Location was perfect... we could easily get to any of the sights we wanted to venture to each day. Thank you to the staff at a Kohea Kai!!

We had a fantastic experience here. Waking up to a great breakfast every morning and relaxing to beautiful sunsets every night. We explored the whole island while Kohea Kai resort was our base. The staff is so friendly and very helpful. Thank you to the entire staff at the hotel who made our adventure in Maui unforgettable.

We spent four nights at Kohea Kai and loved it. At check in, we were pleasantly surprised by the welcoming and helpful staff that gave us a quick tour of the property. We had a standard room but it exceeded our expectations, lots of windows and a view of the garden. We also appreciated the free breakfast.

We arrived late at night on a delayed flight, and the staff was happy to see us. They were flawlessly friendly and surprisingly responsive. Chad deserves a special mention for the after-midnight help as we checked in.

Great vacation. Keoni was excellent and most helpful. He gave us great advice.

Aloha! We are a 24 hour desk that is open 7 days a week so there is always someone on property to assist our guests. Because we are a small boutique hotel and one agent working, often times agents are expected step away from the desk when they are needed to assist guests with any issues they may have in their room. Our telephone line is also routed to our work mobile phone which they carry with them at all times should someone contacts the desk and it has been working well thus far. Thank you for your feedback and our apologies if nobody was there to greet you but will definitely make sure that this does not happen again.

Aloha, The night prior to your arrival and all through the next day of your arrival the Penthouse had multiple leaks in the roof that was physically impossible to fix and have it ready which is why at the very last minute we had to place this room unfortunately out of order for your safety as our guest. In the pouring rain our roofer had a very much difficult time in trying to fix the multiple leaks in the different areas of the Penthouse. As remedy for the unexpected issue we offered an extra room which was an upgraded full ocean suite room right next to the first room, as well as 50% off for the last minute inconvenience. So again I apologize if you felt as if I disregarded your stay because that was never the case and we hope that you will one day give us a chance to make it up to you.
