I was there for a conference. I was seriously torn about staying in this hotel. I wanted to stay someplace a bit more luxurious and modernized. However, I researched other hotels in the area this was one of the better ones. I pulled up and I was immediately in awe of the scenery. The hotel sits near the foothills of the McDowell mountains. Gorgeous location. The best part? Free parking. This is a standard Marriott hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Service was very good. The golf course was very nice also.

As we entered, the view was impressive - just like a book though, you can't judge something by only its cover. First thing I did was wash my hands and the towel bar came off the wall. We left it there for the maid to discover and have fixed - it was put back up as is. It came off again. Also, the TP holder was about to come off, too. Poor communication between room attendants and maintenance, i.e. NOT MY JOB. We went to the bar for a beer and sandwich - the beer was good, the sandwich poor. Overcooked burger and old grease made the fries hard and tasteless. Later, my wife noticed smoke coming into our room even though, supposedly, it is a smoke-free property. Who cares, right?! Back to the restaurant, we noticed that there was a lot of food particles and dirt laying beneath our feet that was still there the next day, too. I would be surprised if this hotel would pass a 'Board-of-Health' visit. We also noticed a lot of Marriott employees standing and jawing throughout the property. Once again, where is the management? The next morning we're sitting in the room drinking coffee and watching the local news, when a hellacious noise coming from outside drowned out the TV. It was 7:30 a.m. A local landscaper was trimming the hedge next to our room with a gas fed power hedger. I stepped out and shouted at him to desist. The noise was so loud he didn't respond then he saw me and took the ear protectors off and did as I asked, begrudgingly. A couple of hours later when we checked out we told the front staff supervisor of this situation and his response was, "we start early in AZ". That same morning we ordered a couple of bacon and egg sandwiches for the room. Upon inspection we noticed that the bacon was basically RAW. Took them back and got new ones with ham this time. The attendant apologized and said he would take off the charge. Of course, he didn't. So it was one more thing to address with the front desk supervisor with an attitude that was anything but helpful. This is the Most Disappointing hotel we have ever stayed-in with the Marriott Brand. Management at this location is non-existent, period. P.S. the bed was very good, but only that.

Typical marriott decor. Everything went smoothly from check in to departure in 224 hours. Brand new Marriott beds and large flat screen TV were most enjoyable. Upgraded bc of status to a king suite which had separated living room area with mini refrigerator. Loved that for platinum level they offered breakfast for two or 750 points on top of the 500 for checking in. Since two people weren’t in my party the points was the only logical selection. Gosh had i offered to not have room cleaned this hotel would be offering almost 2500 miles just for spending the night!weather great and ate conference food in outside courtyard which was very pleasant. Wish i had more time to just enjoy the property, pool etc but staff was all very nice

We stayed at this Marriott for a week, while visiting our daughter. Can't say enough about the service, convenient location, and the friendly staff. Kalena, our server on the terrace was awesome. He's the epidemy of what exceptional customer service means. When traveling, it's those little things that people do, to make your stay more memorable. Kalena achieved that. The poolside service was great as well. The shuttle drivers were super friendly and accommodating. The beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept in. We also met the GM on our last day. You could clearly sense he takes pride in his job, from the way he was interacting with us, and asking us all the right questions about our stay. In some reviews, guests mention the airplane 'noise' from close by, but it really isn't bad. I highly recommend this hotel. We made our reservations already for next year.

Suites are clean, spacious and beautifully appointed. The beds are comfortable. Our room and bathroom are well maintained. The staff are professional and helpful. We will definitely stay here again when in Scottsdale.

The hotel was very nice .My family and I had 2 rooms. We enjoyed the restaurant and the bar.The hotel amenities were wonderful. The pool and hot tub were awesome we enjoyed several hours of family time. The rooms were big suites .

It's easy to jump onto Loop 101 to head north or south when visiting this area. The large, all suites hotel has 3 floors spread over 2 separate buildings (covered walkway in-between) and free parking a very short walk away. Friendly staff, and fresh, late afternoon cookies appeared in the lobby most days we were there. On chilly days, the lobby gets blasted with cold air by front and sometimes rear sliding doors opening, and that cold air seeps into the adjacent dining area as well. Our roomy living area had a mini-fridge and small coffee maker, and the comfy king bed and a dresser with enough drawers (much appreciated) for us to unpack for our 5-day stay were in the other room. We also liked having 2 sinks in the bathroom, pretty rare in most hotels. Towels, however, were thin and scratchy - that needs improving.

We stayed here for 6 nights while we played golf in N Scottsdale. Very friendly staff. Very clean and comfortable hotel with two room suites which are very nice to stay in. The dining area gets a little crowded at breakfast when they have a business group, but then they put out a buffet which is actually good. In all a great hotel with a perfect location in Scottsdale close to the 101 or the Kierland area.

We just returned from a two night stay here. This property is a bit remote so you will need a car to get to nearby restaurants and shopping. We stayed in the west wing on the ground level and had a lovely view of the stunning sunsets. As always, the bed, pillows and linens were dreamy. The staff was exceptionally friendly. We used the fitness facility, which was well outfitted and very clean. The only glitch was with the electronics. Our movie kept re-loading so we got a credit for it. The lobby computer had trouble connecting to the server on Sunday morning It felt just like home! All in all, this is another Marriott win.

This property is spacious, comfortable and easy to navigate. The corridors and guest rooms are frumpy and need updating. Free parking! The nearly airport was not a factor. We stayed on the third floor of the north building. Unfortunately, some of the dining staff lacked the gracious skills normally found at Marriott. Room rates reaching over $500/ night produce high expectations.
