Nice hotel - wish the terrace level was open.
Excellent can’t wait to stay again.
The staff was ok, they are border line rude. The room was old and it had no AC. I could not sleep, it was too hot.
REGRETFULLY stayed at Mondrian for my fiancé’s first trip to Manhattan. It was a life changing weekend where we got engaged! Everything about our trip to NYC was magical EXCEPT for our hotel. Unfortunately, it was a shocking disappointment from the time we checked in to the time we left, grossed out by the awful stench in both men’s and women’s bathrooms. When we arrived at 11:30am Friday a short haired lady who checked us in told us she’d call when the room was ready; possibly earlier than the 3pm (not 2pm as advertised) check in. When 3:30 rolled around we stopped in to inquire. There was another curly haired young lady who rudely checked us in asking me for my I.D. and cc for incidentals AGAIN after I’d already completed the process upon my initial arrival. We were given a dirty alley view on the bottom of the hotel. A room that lacked a coffee maker, ironing board, iron, bluetooth speaker, and even room service for FOUR DAYS!!! We were NEVER told to schedule cleanings upon checking in. We were told that all that could be done was a towel refresh, which they neglected to ever get around to. A couple days into our stay, I asked the wad of wet towels on the bathroom floor be removed and was told over the phone by a young man that there would be a bag brought up for me to collect the laundry! Upon leaving, the young man working at the front desk hands my fiancé 1 bag versus the 3 we left behind. What a mess from check in to grossed out on the way out! Never again!!!!!!
Excellent location. However, no breakfast and no housekeeping. Need toilet paper? There is a CVS down the street, where you can also buy trash bags to drop your garbage on the sidewalk, just as New Yorkers do. Get a good shower so that your towels and sheets will last your stay. But early in the evening, you can go to The Terrace where a lady will sing and remind you of yours cat when you step on it’s tail.
Awesome mirrors over and across the bed! Crispy sheets
I live 30 minutes away by subway and took a room at The Mondrian Park Avenue as a birthday treat for my 50th. Staff was lovely and attentive. Room was quiet and luxurious. Air conditioning was amazing and plentiful. Bed was wonderful. I am hoping The Mondrian can be my home away from home for years to come. Although I imagine once the restaurants and nightclub and all the amenities are up and running again and the neighborhood businesses all re-openEd (if there ever is a post-COVID world), this gorgeous property will be out of my price range. But I’m so glad I treated myself when I had the chance. Most hotels are forgettable one-night-stands. If The Mondrian Park Ave was a person, I might not want to marry it, but I would absolutely want to date to see where it goes.
Great location. Nice boutique feel. Clean and staff well trained
They waited until I checked in to let me know my room class wasn’t available. The. They gave me a handicap accessible room on a low floor close to the street (noisy). Room wasn’t stocked with any bath product short of a bar of soap. All this for a $700 suite.
No A.C. on one of the hottest days so they put us in another room only to find a broken room blind and a loose tile on the marble floor in the bathroom. No use available you have to call the kitchen for it and it takes awhile to get it. Staff was friendly and as helpful and apologetic as they could have been. Their knowledge of the area and how to navigate was not good. If this will be your first trip to NY I recommend you stay somewhere else.
The location is great and the decor is super cool.
Staff is very friendly and helpful, the guys in the lobby would always help with opening the doors and they were all smiles. The cleaning crew did a great job every day, our room was spotless. Also, it was very convenient to have Cleo restaurant on site. The terrace on the 15th floor did not have an attendant (looks like they do have them only on Friday and Saturday nights), and although it is an amazing and a very comfortable terrace, you could not really have a drink unless you bring your own or order from the restaurant, which would probably take an hour. Also, our view was very depressing, looking at the wall of another building. Not a big deal but just kind of sad. Overall, we were happy with our stay at Mondrian.
