I stopped here for a night during a long roadtrip and did not regret it! Checking in late (after 5pm) was not an issue, and the process was easy. My room was comfortable and even though the hotel is by a busy street, I did not feel like it was too loud in the room. Everything was extra clean, the room was spacious, and I slept soundly. The location is also super convenient, only about a mile from the main street in Monterey. Would definitely stay again!

I needed a place to stay overnight due to a golf outing in Monterey The property was nice, clean and easy access to get to the course. Also close to mall (walking distance) and provide dining options. Overall, worth the place to stay.

I stayed one night with my daughter. It was really quiet, I felt safe and the parking was good. The outside was very nice and appealing. The room didn’t have lamps, but overhead lighting. Hmm not really sure about that. Does not have option to enjoy Netflix, just the channels on the TV. Overall it was good and the staff was friendly.

Very clean room; very quiet stay; very polite, accommodating staff. Water temperature was not hot unless you run the tub faucet for a little while. Then, the shower could be used. I wasn't clear on that; (might have missed/forgotten the suggestion at ck-in), but a very kind staff person explained things to me and graciously helped me out. Really nice gourmet coffee machine in office. Would return!

We booked this place because it was c convenient and close to attractions. We had a terrible experience. We stayed at a corner room with no window. Very claustrophobic with no air conditioning. When we uncover the Bed sheet it had looks like tiny dead bugs. We had to shake it off. Parking a little bit small. Outside was presentable and very modern look.

Much nicer (and often cheaper) than the discount motels on North Fremont. Your neighbors here are families, quiet and polite. A nice change from the mentally ill druggies that stay up on North Fremont. Surf Lodge is walking distance to downtown Monterey. Don't forget to visit Red's Donuts and the Paris Bakery Cafe in the morning.
