Cute but dated hotel with plumbing issues. The toilet kept running water making difficult to sleep. Although room is clean, it had a strong odor of bleach. But the family enjoyed the room and the morning breakfast was a plus.

This hotel was not what we expected. The elevator for the building we were in was broken and we had to carry our luggage up to the 4th floor! We were not told this when we made the booking. Needs maintenance. Broken elevator. WiFi was down for whole stay. Sunday breakfast had nice selection but Monday was just very limited like cereal and bagels. I’m concerned they are not investing in maintaining property and are cutting back on breakfasts.

So much to say. At check-in, the front desk attendant was typing on the computer, and did not make eye contact or address us for about 2 minutes, even though she was not helping others. She was not friendly at all. Once we were helped, we were notified of the $50 pet charge, which we were not aware of at booking. We were personally shown to our room, and we realized later that there was no room number on our door or outside wall, making it difficult to find the room later. The lock was fussy, and took a lot of finesse to unlock with the key. Once we were in bed, we realized that our room (105) was directly adjacent to a maintenance/ laundry room, and we could hear loud voices and bumping and clanking noises that kept us awake into the late night. The shower was incredibly difficult to navigate, and nearly impossible to keep at a comfortable setting, risking scalding. No bath mat was provided for the floor, creating a slip and fall risk. We will definitely not return.

This a great hotel conveniently located in the heart of Monterey. It is walking distance to a bunch of restaurants. I really enjoyed a relaxing time in Monterey at Hotel Pacific.

Staff were great especially front desk. Room needs major updates and cleaning. Vents have thick dust and looks like haven't clean for years. Toilet sit wobbly. Not enough plates, glasses, utensils, toilet paper, dining chairs. If you check in 4 adults in the room, should be at least 4 chairs, 4 plates, 4 pairs of utensils and enough toiletries. We are 4 adults and only provided 3 towels. Patio is big but we couldn’t hang out there because spider webs everywhere and only 2 chairs available. TV is very old. We can’t even get a local channels. WiFi never works or just too weak. Duvet cover has ripped on it. Not enough pillows and very uncomfortable. Room phone not even sure if it works because I tried to call front desk and just static noise I heard. Breakfast is ok. Not happy about it Great location. Short walk to Fisherman’s wharf and downtown.

The room was clean. The tub needed drain stopper replaced. They got it fixed quick. The directions on how to get around was confusing including the directions the front desk gave. The elevators are slow and walls are thin. The stay was ok.
