Third time here. Very convenient to downtown, great eating, entertainment, wharf, and other services. Can be a bit noisy if your room faces Pacific Avenue. Try the free MST trolley- great way to get to cannery row.

Absolutley perfect! The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are large and comfortable.

Love the layout of the room. Will stay there again in a heartbeat!

We choose this place because we needed to travel with our dogs. The room and the accommodations were perfect, although I'm not sure how pet friendly the facility is. They did give us a room that led to a yarded area which was helpful. My only issue was we weren't told we needed to travel with a crate if we wanted to leave the dogs in the room. This would have been helpful. We did just tell them we would pay for anything they might destroy knowing they probably wouldn't damage anything.

Good experience staff very helpful and room very clean and comfortable.

Was expecting your standard clean, nice hotel room in a touristy area and instead got what could best be described as a mini-beach condo with king-size bed area, "living room" with a fire place, large bathroom with big tub and separate shower, kitchenette with it's own table, and even a little patio with furniture-- and this was the junior suite! Very clean with great amenities, comfortable and cozy with the open-spaced, white wall and tile beach aesthetic. Was the kind of room you wanted to spend more time in and forget your plans. That said, hotel was in walking distance to everything if you don't mind a nice 1.5 mile stroll along the scenic walking path that runs through town from Fisherman's Wharf to the aquarium and parallel to Cannery Row. Fisherman's Wharf only a couple of blocks away for that matter.

Junior suites are spacious and well appointed. Views are restricted.

This hotel has been around awhile and this was not my first stay. That says a lot. Booked the Junior King Suite (Room 241). Lovely suite. Romantic with the fireplace. Care to relax and sleep in? Heck, yes...that kind of room. It was plenty big with essentially one large open space including the bed, sitting area with sofa, chairs, fireplace, dining table and a small refrigerator/micro area. There is a door out to a private enclosed patio. The traditional bathroom space included both a tub with shower and another shower which meant a couple could use those at the same time, although there was only one sink to share. I'm not sure when they last updated the room but no complaints; it was fresh and in good repair even though the property itself has some age under its belt. The important thing is everything works; furniture, fixtures, towels and bedding were in excellent shape and everything very clean, meaning you felt you could walk barefoot around the suite without pausing to think about it. The added attraction of this suite location is that it is "inside" and quiet and so you didn't "front" the street with continual noise and traffic. The hotel is directly across from the Portola Hotel where you can go and get a fabulous high-end buffet breakfast (eggs to order) in a lovely upscale restaurant if you are willing to pay the price.

We live in the area and stayed here because of some home renovation work. I had always wanted to see what this place was like, and my office is only a few blocks away. We had a big room, but it was very noisy from the street traffic.

TV wasn't working had to call for service. Room service had an outdated menu so when I ordered they didn't have the dishes I wanted. Biggest complain was the noise. They have fountains in the courtyard that turn on early in the morning that are a little loud. You can hear every single car or person that goes by your window at all hours of the night. But the worst was you could hear what I think was other rooms drains. Randomly for 20 - 30 minutes you can hear this extremely loud draining noise echoing from the fireplace. Had a really hard time sleeping. Besides that the room itself was very nice. For a $500 a night room I would expect better noise insulation.

Excellent room for me and my dog. Private courtyard allowed him to roam without me having to walk him. Very spacious king bedroom and beautiful bathroom with walk in shower and a soaking tub.

Hotel was a bit disappointing. Good location, but kind of a funky, multi-building layout. I was directed to walk through the garage to get to the elevator bank. Room was dated but clean. No shampoo or lotion in the room, but they brought it up quickly. TV remote didn't work, so no TV (it was too late to deal with engineers, etc.). Overall, this hotel delivers an OK experience and is in a fairly good downtown location. Continental breakfast was decent but inferior to, say, a Hampton Inn or similar hotel. Overall, the rate charged ($250) for the experience delivered is out of whack, and is made possible only by the rate umbrella of the other, nicer hotels in Monterey.

Junior suites have Large sized rooms and a nice patio. Very dog friendly, including special spot for pets to do their business . Easy walk to Fishermans Wharf or downtown.?

The hotel is conveniently located, close to the beach, restaurants, shops and grocery. And you get free breakfast too.

The photos online showed a large spacious suite with ocean views, when in reality it was small, we had a view of a building site on a very noisy road, and the room had a bad smell. We considered checking out after the first night, There was a 1 inch gap under the doors, so as well as the street noise, we could also hear people walking by at all hours of the night. The ice machine was just outside our door which didn't help either.

My wife and I enjoy spending time in Monterey, and this time we decided to try Hotel Pacific. We got exactly what we were looking for and our suite was very comfortable. The location is great for walking downtown, going to Fisherman's wharf and even heading to Cannery Row. During our stay, we walked down to Portola Plaza and picked up two electric bikes for the day's adventures. Loved that we were close to activities, yet secluded when back in our room. Great experience!

This is a beautiful hotel within walking distance of restaurants, historical walking tours of the city and Cannery Row, and the wharf.

This hotel is close to great food the beach and nice walking trails. The rooms are big and the patios are nice.
