Hotel Pacific is perfectly situated in downtown Monterey, just a short walk from Fisherman’s Wharf, great restaurants, and whale watching tours—ideal for exploring without needing a car everywhere. We stayed in a Junior Suite, which was very spacious with nice touches like a private outdoor patio, cozy fireplace (perfect for a romantic evening), bar sink, mini fridge, and microwave—super convenient for longer stays. The decor feels a bit dated, and there’s no air conditioning (just radiant heaters), so the room can get stuffy— we kept the windows open for breeze, which worked fine. The bed was decently comfortable, though the pillows were on the thin side. Staff were professional and courteous throughout our stay. The free continental breakfast is simple but gets the job done—mostly cold items with a few warm options. One heads-up: The underground garage has very tight parking spots, so it can be a bit challenging if you have a larger vehicle. Overall, for the price (noticeably lower than many comparable spots in the area), it’s a solid choice with charm and prime location. We’d stay again for a Monterey getaway!

Very clean! Overall a lovely place for a great price! A few things got us off on the wrong foot- when we arrived (atfer 4:00) the carpet in our room was wet. Apparently they had just shampooed it, which is awesome, but like still wet. They offered to move us but I was exhausted after lugging everything up with 2 kids, and a super clumsy luggage cart that couldn't turn corners, so instead we just turned on the fan and opened the balcony door. It dried eventually. The breakfast was nice, for being free. Pretty standard- bagels, cereal, juice... which is great! But both mornings, there was ONE woman working. Keeping it stocked, cleaning tables, washing dishes. It's an unreasonable amount of work for that one poor woman. She did an amazing job but people kept having to ask for things, like bowls for the cereal. She just couldn't keep up. There were a few minor annoyances like that, but again- really great value. The room was huge and clean, with a cozy fireplace. Not at all soundproof unfortunately, but the beds were comfy and it was overall a pleasant stay.

Very torn.....the staff was delightful and accomodating. The rooms were extremely comfortable and clean. However the room we had was right on Pacific Ave and was extremely noisy. They did move us to another room away from the road and near the fountain to muffle to surrounding noise. Also they have a picture of a hot tub but no hot tub there you have to go to another hotel? Finally, there was construction going on at the hotel and it would've been nice to know in advance.

Across the street is the wharf and Portola meeting center. It’s a pretty easy Cannery Ros down the bike path nearby. The hotel is older and showing age, but rooms were spacious, very comfortable, well laid ou, and breakfast was really good. Check your reservations. They do add quite a few extra charges, including parking to it.

The hotel looks so far from the photos they added on Expedia. It is in bad condition. The lady who worked at breakfast was amazing. The front desk lady was not very patient. She seemed to hate her job. Our overall experience was not good.

Such a sweet property close to old Monterey and wharf. The room had a wonderful gas fireplace and a balcony with a peek a boo view of the bay and harbor. Nicely remodeled bathroom. I was sad that the hot tub was not in service and that there was a parking fee for garage.

Really loved our room, big nicely decorated, clean, etc. Very fun! I was not impressed wyih service by staff. Took them 1 hr to bring us matches for the fireplace. We were given 3 matches left in a used book to use... and we arrived early... no early check in. Took a nap in our car in the parking garage. Then tried again at 20 minutes early and they said our room wasnt ready. Are you kidding me? Check out is at 11am, so it takes more than 4 hours to clean 1 room? They gave us a different room and elt us check in at 3:40pm... at a fuss. Holly molly. Breakfast was good for weekend, but just cold stuff on weekdays...bummer.

Wanted to like this property, location great, except in the flight line for airport take off, some in am some in pm, not earth shaking but not good, also missed the part on the website about under hotel parking fees $22 a day however parked on street one night without incident. Hotel is close to fav eating places, the inside of room needed some help as well, seems like the hotel many be remodeled soon but we will not see it if they do

Nice property right across from convention center and pier. Great breakfast area and food. Plenty of places to eat in the area and things to do. Hotels is older and needs some remodeling. No A/C Little high on the price for the quality of the hotel.
