This hotel has a fantastic location so I found myself coming back. This time I got in at 2 am and checked out at 8am. The room was nice and clean and perfect for a quick nights sleep before a day of meetings. I will be back. Thanks!
I was traveling for work and anytime I am in St. Paul the InterContinental is my first choice! In the past I have always had a great experience. This stay was great! The hotel room was clean and tidy. Check in was a breeze! We had some questions after checking in and Tabatha was a great to talk with! Anytime there after we always sought out Tabatha because of her great attitude and she was fun to joke with! In the restaurant we had service from Tammy and Kelly. Both were excellent servers and they both were on top of refills (which is so important to me)!! During our stay we did have some interaction with the valet individuals. Michael Akande was one who stood out while we were there! He had such a warm personality and took time to talk with a coworker and myself. I want to give Nick from the valet a shout out as well! I went seeking Michael's name as I didn't get it from before. Nick took the time to ask me if anything was wrong or if he could help with anything since I was asking for a certain individual. Nick so kindly helped me get Michael's name and was excited as a coworker that Michael had done a great job! This shows what kind of team Nick and Michael are a part of and that is just awesome! Upon check out I was greeted by Bria Yarbrough. She was so polite and answered all my questions about parking and room charges. She took the time to make sure my questions were answered and was very sincere! Greatly appreciated!! Thankyou for the great stay InterContinental and I look forward to my next visit!!
My room was on the 21st floor and the view was amazing as always. Tabatha was fantastic on checking me in and helping me get everything situated. Had awesome room service and my favorite dining host Joanne (sorry if the spelling is correct) is always so pleasant and friendly. Love staying here for work. Thanks for always a great experience!!!!
The staff is pretty nice here. However, on three separate occasions, they could not locate my reservation, wasting a lot of time at the desk. The hotel is tired -- sorely in need of a major remodel. My room was dusty, not vacuumed and the sheets smelled of chlorine. When the temperature is minus 4, the heat does not work well because the windows are not insulated and it is very drafty and cold. Housekeeping does not remove used coffee cups. To top it all off, I asked the hotel to arrange a taxi for me at 5 AM to the airport, I did this the day before. The driver showed up and wanted to charge me $100 for a $20 fare. He refused to take me. I refused to pay and nearly missed my flight. A lot more attention is needed on this property
When I first checked in, Tabatha R. was just amazing. I had already had a long day of travel and business meetings, and she welcomed me warmly and checked me in promptly and went over the amenities of my stay. The room was clean, with a large bathroom with full size towels. The makeup mirror and the additional nail file, makeup wipes and other items were geared specifically for the female traveler. No other hotel I have stayed in for business has offered those items and it was clear that they understood some additional items women need. Nigel in the lounge was an absolute pleasure to spend time with and he even walked me over to the bakery area when I mentioned my desire for something sweet. Those cupcakes were simply delicious. Overall, my stay was comfortable, my floor was quiet, and all the employees were professional and courteous.
Top notch service. Our room was a 16th floor corner room with a beautiful view of the city and waterway. I was able to watch a very large bald eagle fly over the water near the edge of the tree line. Absolutely beautiful! The king bed and pillows were very comfortable. Our room had a walk-in shower with a glass divider. Nice lighting in the bathroom for prepping for the day or evening. Our room was very clean and the housekeeping staff is very friendly. You will need to use ramp parking since this is the middle of downtown St. Paul. We also used the indoor passage way to the Xcel Energy Center. About a 15 min walk.
The hotel was very clean and the staff did everything they can to make our stay good. Valet service was great and was fast to get our vehicle. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was near everything. We would stay there again!!!
Room was nice pretty tiny, amazing views but we went for a concert and basically only slept in the room. Amazingly close to the event center we walked there. The restaurant downstairs is nice, but food isn’t good.
Stayed during the coldest period of Jan and enjoyed my stay. The hotel is located right in front of the River & walking distance to St. Paul Cathedral & few other landmarks in the city, which made it ideal to take some pictures in the snow. Stayed on the executive rate so got 24 hour access to the executive room which served coffee and refreshments throughout. The gym is very well equipped for a business hotel. The rooms were slightly small, but has all modern amenities. There aren't many restaurants at the hotel, but the Citizen restaurant serves a variety of food & beverages. All in all, it was an excellent choice for a week stay.
For over $200 a night I expected much more from this place. One of the dirtiest hotels I have been in. We stayed in room 512 (no view) and the entire 5th floor was disgusting. Dingy unclean carpet, old lemon slices by the elevator that were there our whole stay, beer boxes left by guest, the doors are scratched up and dirty. Honestly, we felt like we were walking into a dungeon. The bed was clean at least but the windows are extremely drafty and yes there are no doors on the showers. I get it, they are trying to do a European thing with the double flush toilet no door on the shower but it is not working when the carpets in the room and halls are filthy, especially in the corners and where the floor and ceiling meet because a vacuum can't get there. When we came back from dinner, and the whole hallway and our room smelled like fart. I wish I was joking. I don't know if it is the heat or what. There is connecting doors in the room, which is fine except the doors and walls are so thin we awoke from a dead sleep at 1:30am to people having sex. Again I wish I was joking but you may not have a quiet relaxing night here if that is what you are looking for. Very thin walls so I hope you are a deep sleeper! The restaurant is also not that great, just go down the block to the grey duck tavern and you will not be disappointed. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the door man is extremely friendly and welcoming and jumped our car when our battery died in the parking ramp. And the cleaning lady was nice when we forgot something and had to go back into our room. I saw her cleaning cart and the management does not give these nights e ladies the supplies to correctly clean these rooms. Overall the staff makes the best of this place but the management needs to spend the money to get this place together. Hourly sweeps of each floor to ensure cleanliness would be a good start. Especially for what you pay!
