We stayed here for 5 days and stayed in the building back behind the Last Mision restaurant and it was very peaceful, no noise from the late night partiers.. I would recommend to stay there if your looking for quite at night. The resort is on the beach but you can't get in the water from here it's to dangerous only negative I would say. The food was good and plenty to choose from the staff was very friendly and willing to help .
Nice place! Beds were hard ! Staff was friendly. Close to the beach
Very nice would return to this hotel! I have nothing bad to say about this hotel
We had an amazing vacation here. The grounds were very clean and very beautiful. Delicious food, plenty of places to quench your thirst, and access to local attractions on site. There were fun, upbeat places and calm, relaxing places. Like the title says, what more could you ask for?
great place to stay I definitely recommend it the food was really good great views and the grounds were very clean ...the only downside to me was the beds are a little uncomfortable and the rooms can be a little warm.
This is the second time i have been to this hotel. The first time was great, but this time i noticed a trend to the downside which probably due to the changes to Cabo in general. In Cabo stores are shutting down and the military is all over the place. First off i paid for an ocean view but the the front desk clerk insisted i didn't have one and said take it up with Orbitz, which is short for "it sucks to be you". I got the manager involved and things were straightened out. The room which was visually okay had some flaws 1. there was no hot water, 2. the safe battery went dead, 3. the room was way to cold even the air conditioner shut off and 4. the coffee machine was replace by 4 bottles of hard liquor. I guess the people coming to this hotel is changing so they are accommodating the hard partying group. The facilities are deteriorating the pool losing tile which is not being replace or replaced with a slop job which is worse then a missing tile. The beach has eroded to the point where there is a steep cliff to reach the water and then you are knocked over by the large waves. Its is fun for kids but parents have to watch their kids defeats the point of a relaxing vacation. On arrival one of the workers mentioned that if you want to go swimming going to a neighboring hotel closer to Cabo would be a better idea.
I booked the Santa Fe but got upgraded to the Palace next door. Huge upgrade. I did visit the Santa Fe, and it is a nice hotel. The grounds are clean, and it's definitely a party place, but not near as dramatic as other reviews might state. It's a large, moderately priced resort so it should be expected that young groups will go.
The view was terrible and the maids don't understand a word u ask them.
We enjoyed staying here the all inclusive package made sense. The service was superb in nearly all restaurants, at the bar and at hotel reception. Our room as promised had a good view but it was a bit dated. The bathroom sink had a crack and the tissue holder keeps falling off. Minor things but can cause accident good thing we didn't have kids. The other suggestion we have is to keep the horses on the beach and all the merchants farther away from the guests lounging and staying on the beach to ensure peace and quiet. The horses urine make the sand smelly and the merchants approach you constantly. I did some shopping but don't want to bargain constantly and daily.
Good experience w/ mostly everything. food was great. Staff were all excellent. Just need to have more room for the restaurants-wait time too long. Location was great. We walked the beach everyday. The kids went swimming and had a lot of fun. The evening shows were good-just turn down the volume a bit so we can actually hear the music. Only other comment would be to limit the area where people can smoke outside. We were disappointed to have all the smokers hanging around the pools everywhere without any care-discarding their cigarettes buds and ash on the floor and in the air, smoking where the kids are playing.
Awesome trip, everything was wonderful. Great weather, scenery and fishing was excellent also.
The room bar and beverage from the fridge were not replaced for half of my stay. Either way, you can get plenty of drinks at the pool bars. But it’s nice to know that you are noticed, even you forgot the tip the guy in charge with the drinks.
My experience was not very good at this resort. Rooms are old and beds are very uncomfortable. Mattress was spring based which gave both me and my wife back aches. It was very noisy as we were located right by the pool, which I can't blame the resort. I would not recommend this hotel specially during spring Break if you are going as a family and want a little quite time. We were up all night as kids will come back from partying 3-4 in the morning. They will play loud music and bang on the doors as half of them will come late. Nothing special about the food. It was same during our 7 day trip. Breakfast was ok but lunch and dinner was aweful. Experienced an encounter with a bad waiter who I feel like didn't want to serve us. Hotel is very close to top spots. Entertainment guys were good. Weather was cold make sure to check low temperature when going to Cabo as water gets super cold over night and high 70.s was not high enough to warm the water till 3 in the afternoon.
Food is good, lots of choices but everyone shows up at 6:30 when they open for dinner. I would like an earlier opening to accommodate more versitile hours. This is a very large property so expect to walk. Pools are clean and beautiful but no pool side service. Swim up bars are close by. Also, no bathrooms close to the pools. The pools by the beach are a great location but they were dominated by loud, drunk, inconsiderate of others, spring break college students. The staff does a great job cleaning up after them, though they should not have to. Cups, limes and mint from drinks were removed by staff a few times a day. 5 times the brainless woke us up at 2 am thinking it was their room. That is more comentery on the college kids then the hotel. Location is good and close to town. $20 cab ride or walk toward the highway and catch a bus. We went fishing for snapper and caught 50 for 5 fisherman. The front desk had the chef cook a few up for us and did a great job.
Stayed here for spring break, it was very party like which we loved, and it was on the beach, and close to the marina and lovers beach. This hotel is perfect for spring break, but it is also very relaxing during any week that isn't spring break!
I stayed at the Riu during spring break with a bunch of girlfriends and the staff was extremely nice and helpful so much that they locked our valuables in our safe for us when we left it out. The rooms were beautiful and we never had to leave the resort because everything we needed was right there and when we did there was security insuring that everyone who drove in had a wristband.
If you are looking for a beach resort, all-inclusive at a low price - this is it. However, you get what you pay for. While the views are incredible, the pool is beautiful and the food is spot on...the quality of the rooms and rest of hotel are not fantastic. Our room was so loud at night, due to all the hard surfaces (no carpet) we could hear people yelling from down the hall. It echoed of drunken stupor up until 4am. My boyfriend and I got to our rooms around 12 midnight each night we stayed, and woke up from the noise 4-6 times before 8am. Bring earplugs and possibly a pillow (bedding was not luxurious). Coming from Los Angeles I may have high expectations for hotel quality, but I definitely think there could be some simple improvements for Riu Santa Fe to make the stay more comfortable.
Fun times on the beach. The resort is huge but if you do not pay for the ocean view upgrade you will be walking a ways to hit the main pool and beach.
This is our third stay the RIU Santa Fe. As before we really appreciate the resort and its quality. The food has always been good. If you cant find something to eat, you really have some serious issues. The food is always good and what a great variety. The wait staff is always very helpful and pleasant. In the previous stays we have always gone to the other specialty resturants , but this time decided to stay with the buffet ones. The beach is great as well as the pools. The pools are always clean. The activity staff are great and the shows that they put on are entertaining. We have always stayed at the RIU because of their quality that we have experienced.
We book an ocean view room but we got desert /back view!!!!!! :(
