We went in September, it was very quiet, not many people at all. We had our pick of beach chair at any point of the day. The swim up bar had its busy moments, but never more than 8 people. Food was good, buffet was adequate. Overall, a nice relaxing week-long vacation.
Arrived after a tropical storm, staff did not inform us that they only had 1 Restraunt open per night and the breakfast location was relocated to the cafe area.
The room was clean and the staff was friendly.
The hotel is going thru upgrades; the property is showing its age/ wear and tare (exposed rebar at the stairs, broke tiles, pools in rough shape etc)
What renovations have taken place are very well done
The Mexican restaurant (la a carte) service by Jonathon was hands down the best part of the trip, do not miss the chance to go here!
They had entertainment nightly which was good the themed dancing with authentic dinner was really amazing (staff could have or should have mentioned it upon checking into the resort; we only knew because of Jonathon letting us know.)
The pools area wasn’t overly clean (lots a debris in the pools)
The food at the buffet had little variety and little taste
Breakfast was limited
The omelet bar was excellent
Beaches were nice
lizards were adorable
This is a beautiful resort with beautiful views and huge pools and I would rate it as excellent except for the food. This was my 10 th time being in Cabo and I’ve stayed at different hotels and I hate to say but this was the worst buffet food of all of them. No bacon on breakfast buffet ! Very strange dishes and not a lot of anything. I saw people walking around and around trying to find something they liked. Also, beware when you get there not to talk with anyone walking up to you and saying they will get you checked in….they are time share agents!!!! I didn’t know that and so glad someone told me. I saw people wasting there whole day walking around with an agent “ of the hotel “ who is really just trying to get them in a time share.
Would not go again. I’ve visited many resorts and this was of the lower end. Even though there were healthy food options/ there weren’t many to choose from. Entertainment subpar, helpfulness of employees ummm hmmm well never mind. I will say that when I called the front desk for maintenance issues there was a quick response. If you go out and take shuttles, you will quickly see a vast difference between this place and the others. The bed was comfortable, and water pressure good. Overall it was a decent stay but from this experience I probably won’t ever visit Los Cabos again and def not this chain. I had an amazing time when I visited Cancun and stayed at another resort starting with an H- total opposite experiences. This is just MY experience, others may find this place wonderful- for me it was disappointing. I could not enjoy the mimosas (they didn’t use real orange juice) but breakfast was the best meal out of all. Normally I’m sad to leave resorts- I couldn’t wait to leave this one.
Hard sale time share property. Limited dining options, food available was awful. Hard to get into dining reservations. Resort was very low key, limited entertainment. Segregation of bars for members only, not disclosed during booking. We saw people throwing up in the swim up bar pool. Rooms and property at first look appear fine, but quickly realize how outdated they are. Would not stay here again.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
It is now GR Solaris Lighthouse by the way. Food and drinks are horrible. Staff is useless. There is absolutely nothing to do unless you like either being in a pool or laying beside a pool. You can't rely on staff to help you if you have questions. Wasted money for us for sure. Despite being all inclusive, be fully prepared to pay for food and drinks and transporting t/from off property each day.

When we arrived at the hotel, it was under renovations (not stated on Expedia or the hotels website). Expedia is no longer taking reservations from this hotel but refused to help us move to another hotel. Some of the many issues at the hotel were hotel lobby, restaurants were closed, they were charging for room service, elevators were not functioning, etc. This was not an operational all inclusive resort which is what we paid for and expected. We are now out $4500 and it ruined our vacation. We tried to resolve with the hotel and they were rude and not helpful. We spent hours of our vacation on the phone trying to get a different hotel with no help at all from Expedia. We ended up paying for another hotel at an added expense of $1500. Expedia just takes your money and has horrible non existent customer service!
The staff were mostly helpful, very nice and friendly. The management a little less so.
The Faro Bar restaurant was closed an two elevators down. We paid a premium despite limited bar service and offering.
Note you are unable to swim in the ocean at this beach due to unsafe currents. The beach is very quiet and clean.
I love all the staff are very nice shout out to Samantha from entertainment,Ary from entertainment theyre very kind, helpful and hardworking. Shout out to Orlando from Italian restaurant and Gisela from retaurant close by the pool.theyre very helpful.the only thing i dont like is the restroom below the restaurant close by the pool.2 rooms were very dirty and only 2 were funtioning out of 4.tlyou should bulid anothe clean restroom with good lighting.Sushi restaurant should be in a nice cozy room not by the poolside.
Spent a few days here on a solo vacation. The resort is clean and on the smaller side. Definitely an older crowd as well. The area around the resort was nice with plently of outside food and shopping options. The food at the hotel restaurants was basic at best. Dont forget to check out the bar at the top of the lighthouse! The views are amazing and worth the climb up the stairs, or take the sketchy elevator.
Stayed here many times before new ownership. Love the updates the new ownership has done, don’t love the fact that it is becoming a timeshare or condo type situation. The workers worked very hard however, the resort was very understaffed. One area that has always needed improvement is in the food. I love the location, room was great, and the entertainment at the pool was great. And it’s Mexico, so what’s not to love!
