Stayed here for 5 days. The front desk gentleman that checked us in very dry. Not welcoming at all. The welcome drinks at the entrance, old and watered down. Room was not bad except for for the strong sewer smell. Restaurants are your typical all inclusive food. The wait staff works really hard. Good job on their part. As for the drinks, again nothing blew my mind. Everything watered down to include the beer, which was out of a keg. Pools were not bad. No major entertainment shows. No shade by the beach area. The main entrance to the hotel doesn't look secure, seems like anyone can drive in. Checking out, not even a thank you just give me your hand to cut that bracelet. Horrible. Overall, I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it.

The location right on the beach makes for beautiful mornings and your very close to all excursions

We should have been aware we could not get in the water due to the waves on the beach and how steep the beach was to enter the water. It was deemed dangerous (red flag) the whole time we were there.

covid test people were very rude and not helpful at all they false advertised about free tests making SOME people pay and others not . (mostly people who spoke spanish didn’t have to pay) only charged some of my friends and others not when it was supposed to be everyone . they wouldn’t give a refund the hotel didn’t help at all after us complaining. not cool would never go back due to this situation. shouldn’t take advantage of tourists

Beautiful views

Took them four tries to get us in a room including sending us to an occupied room. The two gyms are both just hallways. One has five treadmills. The other has a few weights in the back but tiny for a property of this size. Spa was just yuck. Tiny. Yucky. You can’t swim in the water due to current and you can’t walk the beach as it is so sloped and deep sand so hard to get any exercise.

I loved the location of my room! Very close to everything! Riu palace was breathtaking at every angle! The views of the the ocean were just what I needed!

The employees are really nice

Excellent. The service was great especially at the breakfast buffet Marlene was an awesome waitress. She greeted us every morning and had the table ready for us.

love the food

The hotel is clean and the staff are wonderful. However the hotel rooms are very basic and small. Apart from the breakfast, the food is quite poor. The evening entertainment is cheesy. I would not stay here again.

Great place!

The facility and property are terrific. The food is not that good.

Great place, stay here vs. santa fe

The RIU palace was a blast! Great food, friendly staff, and plenty to do in the area

Nice property

The breakfast and lunch buffet was good. Many choices. The steakhouse was also good. But they kept the tables too close for comfort considering COVID social distancing was not followed. And do I really want to hear other people’s private conversations? And the loud drunk ones were annoying! It’s a good idea for the quick food pick up close to the entrance for people who have an early morning ride to the tours and the airport.

The service and rooms for being nice. The food is good and drinks

Dear Destiny Renee, Thank you for sharing your concerns with us! We are sorry to learn that you had such a disappointing experience in the covid testing process. We would like to clarify that the testing is run by a third company and not RIU. We assure you that we will share your impressions with our management team so that they can follow up on the situation and take action if needed! It is our hope that you will again give us a chance to change your opinion about our hotel. Hotel Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas Online Reputation Manager
