The rooms are okay and include some modern upgrades like individual reading lights, microwave, and mini fridge. The location could use some better lighting in some areas of the parking lot. The biggest improvement would be on the Front Desk side, it took multiple calls in order to get a hold of someone.

Checking in was on point and efficient. My room as on the 2nd floor. I'm unaware of how these hotel buildings are constructed from one brand to other, but I'm sure there's a first level standard and then there's a secondary level. If more consideration was put into the building's structural value; I think the complaints dept would be cut in half due to heavy footed individuals and so forth. On one hand, I requested fresh pillow cases after inspection. This was delivered quickly without hesitation. The free internet was sporadic but it didn't ruin my stay. The next morning I was awaken by the light fixture cover rattling and I made a request to fix the problem. Again, no hesitation, efficiency and great customer satisfaction is what was pleasing in this stay. They alleviated the issue and I was glad to wake the 2nd morning without a rattling noise. Yes the hotel is next to the freeway so obviously there's a constant freeway noise. The doors aren't sound proofed and again back to the construction of how this building was put together, they could've made it to where the doors shut more flushed and sealed better. I don't mind the constant noise. I actually like it. Conclusion, it's a good hotel, the staff is very attentive and courteous and the breakfast is abundant and fresh. Be forewarned, if your room faces the pool during the summer, some families are just much more vocally obnoxious that others. I do like this hotel. I've stayed here a handful of times.

Rooms and service are what you would expect of this hotel HOWEVER what you don't appreciate until arrival is the road noise from the highway SO VERY CLOSE. To add to that were the frequent trains that blow their horns at the level crossings also VERY CLOSE BY. I All this after asking for a quiet room. If I could have cancelled the booking and got a refund I would have. My recommendation is spend a few dollars more and look for a place that is quieter.

We had confirmed our rooms reserved a month before and and they had confirmed them the day before, when we got there they said that our reservations were cancelled, they had sold them to another person with a higher price. They said all the rooms were booked and they sent us somewhere else with almost the triple the price of the price we had in mind. People were on their phones texting Instead of helping us and the other customers.

This hotel is at the halfway point when we visit our family in southern California so we stop here several times a year. We travel with our well behaved standard poodle and she is accepted here. As always, the front desk clerk was welcoming and cordial. We got a room on the third floor and it was exceptionally clean and new. The price is right at $79 with AAA discount and this time we weren't charged extra for our dog.

As me and my husband approached the counter the front desk clerk smelt of alcohol. His eyes were glossy his speech was slurred. Very unprofessional that's a negative image for the company and could be a huge liability. The room was clean. A nice selection for breakfast no other complaint's. The rest of the staff was fine. I will not be back bad first impression.

PROPERTY AND ROOMS: We checked in with a rather large group, taking almost an entire floor. When we checked all the rooms, we found certain inconsistencies like: - Some rooms had dimmer light bulbs (lower wattage) than others. - Some of the remotes for the TVs didn't work. - Some of the rooms did not have refrigerators. - Some of the rooms had refrigerators that did not work. - Some of the rooms had lamps that did not work(most likely just a bulb issue). - Some of the sinks and toilets drained slowly. Inconsistencies aside, most of the rooms were okay. Nothing spectacular. The air conditioners worked. we didn't find anything wrong with the sheets. Staff: We dealt with two staff members on different shifts. We had checked in at around 1AM and the lady who was at the front desk was quite helpful. We had been given a room without a refrigerator and we needed one. She apologized then checked the only 2 other rooms available to see if they had refrigerators and transferred us to the only room available that had a refrigerator. The second staff we dealt with was that evening. One of our friends were checking in and they got the room that we originally were in, which was on the ground floor. They needed a refrigerator too, and they had requested an upper level room in their reservation 6 months ago. They also asked for a refrigerator and was told there were none. They were told there were no other rooms available and they should have reserved the room sooner. Our friends showed the confirmation they received from the reservation six months ago and it did request an upper level room. The staff member was quite rude and very short and curt. I've been in the customer service field for over 20 years and this was not a good example of how customer service should be. Not once did this staffer apologize, even after the confirmation was shown.

We stayed 1 night here after a holiday in Yosemite which was part of a US roadtrip. The room was fine, clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable. The annoyances started at around 6am when the door outside our room (which was an exit from the hotel) started banging and banged until we had enough of it and went for Breakfast. (I think the room was number 125, it was at the end of a long corridor). Surely the least the hotel can do is put a spring on the door to stop it from banging so loudly? The swimming pool had a sign on the entrance asking people who have had diarrhea in the past 14 days. While this is laudible, we decided not to use the pool! The breakfast was average, it was a decent selection which was something many hotels in the US don't seem to provide! We were however horrified to see the hotel used plastic plates, cups, knives, forks, etc - has anybody in this hotel ever considered the environmental impact of all this waste? Surely it can't be that difficult to get an industrial sized dish washer? So while our room was fine and clean, it is fair to say we didn't enjoy much else about our stay.

The hotel was fine, the issue was after we checked out. I left my iPad in the hotel room but did not realize it for several days. I called the hotel two days later and was told that they may have it, asked me to describe it. I was told they would mail it to me, it is now over a month later and I still have not received it. I talked to Julie on October 4th and she told me that it would be mailed the next day, still haven't received it.

We stayed one (!) night on our way back from Yosemite to the coast. Room and rate was ok, except the bathroom seemed a bit sterile and unkind. Breakfast was plenty (for US standards at least), but also sterile, plastic and without any attention to details. However, the big issue is that the reservation charged my credit card for two (!) nights. I called twice and was treated fairly unkind ("you see, we cannot do anything again tomorrow" - how about YOU calling ME back, uh?). I even wrote an email, but without any reply. Now, I am the one who has to talk back and forth with my credit card company in order to get my money back. I would strongly recommend bypassing the Quality Inn in Merced,
