We had the worst stay at the South Tahoe Margaritaville. We travel quite often and stay at different hotels throughout the country. The hotel is run by “children” at the front desk. Their attitude showed that they do not want to work there and obviously of no help to customers. We asked them several days prior to our departure ( it should be known that we wanted to make sure they were not busy checking in or out any customers) we asked for recommendations on ways to get to the airport as we had an early flight and could not take the Airporter (not sure how it is spelled). We were told: “we do not have a concierge. Nowhere on our website does it say this”. We were just asking them what ideas they may have. I need to say that there were 2 different people (adults) in the later shifts that were very helpful in other questions). It was so bad that if we saw either of the “children” at the front desk we would wait for someone else to answer a question. The other issue we had was almost worse and they again were “children”. There was a display of some shoes. They did not have a price on them so I brought them to the counter and asked if she knew the price. The complete answers I was given was “No”. She never looked at them to scan the price. The shoes all had CPT codes on them. The ONLY thing she told me was “no”. This was the area where to check in with the waitress to be seated. The store across the hall with snacks and merchandise had WONDERFUL service!

The property for the most part was enjoyable, and the staff were all extremely friendly. When we checked in to our room and moved a chair to pull the pull-out bed we found a pair of dirty children socks. My daughter is 12 and these were marked 12-24mos. So, we know they were not hers. When we checked in I over-heard that the hotel was booked and when we did check in we were told that there were only 2 options for our room choice. I guess we chose the wrong room. It wasn't a major issue but considering the price we would have hoped for some more attention to detail in the cleaning process when resetting a room. The pool and hot tube had a film around it between the water and the edges of the pool. Which was kind of off putting. On Friday, we were a bit concerned because the PA system was announcing an emergency and to immediately evacuate. It turned out to be nothing and I am basing that on the fact that no one else in the hotel seemed to be concerned. However, it was a rough way to start the day and at no point was there ever a correction broadcasted. The alert simply stopped playing. We didn't spend a lot of time in our hotel because there is so much to do in the area and as I stated the staff was extremely friendly.

AC was noisy in the room auto off every 15 minutes and did not auto start even set the auto temperature until it detected a person close near the AC control panel which caused the temperature to go to 75 degrees. for me was too warm. Everything else was fine.

The lack of self parking explanation in the reservation or by hotel staff when we arrived made everything very confusing and stressful when we first arrived. At least the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet.

The property is very nice and remodeled, although it did feel humid in the hotel not a whole lot of air circulation. I stayed two nights. On the second day, I did request housekeeping to clean my room, but they never came. On the last day, Housekeeping came in my room at 9 AM and woke me up and asked me when I was going to leave, I did talk to the front desk about these two matters. Make sure that you take all your valuables out of your car when you hand over the keys to valet because I did have an item missing from my car and I did report it to valet they did comp two days for valet service charge .

The property and room was clean and just as advertised. We had an issue with a leak in the ceiling in the shower, but they immediately came to check it out and gave us a different room. Other than that small inconvenience we didn’t have any other issues.

Arrival: Poor Valet and Bell Service. Checkin: Ok. Room Plus: Clean, nice. Room Minus: Noisy AC, terrible humming thru the wall from Outside equipment area below our room. Which we asked to be moved to another room due to my wife’s noise sensitivity. The night manager Scott said there were no rooms available. So we had to leave and find another hotel to stay at. Scott was nice and said that all room & resort fee charges would be credited to us and we thanked him. Store: Minimally stocked, expensive a (4) pack of Reeses Peanut butter cups $6.50!!! Bars: Only went to Chill bar which didn’t open until an hour after we arrived at 5 pm even though the place was super busy. Should have been at least (2) Bar Tenders for the amount of people waiting.The Bar tender worked hard and made good drinks. Restaurants: Only went to JWB for dinner. We had no reservation so we sat at the bar. Ordered the Surf & Turf which was delicious. The Bar Tender provided great service until the end when we paid. I gave him my credit card and was charged someone else's bill. He apologized and corrected it. Then he missed charged me again. This time he said he couldn't fix it and the manager would and charge it to the room. This turned into several days of phone calls and going back to the hotel to get this fixed. Epilogue: We contacted Expedia who worked with the hotel to get our room charge and resort fee refunded, but still problems with misc. charge on wife’s credit card. We would not stay again
