Our experience booking this hotel from the very beginning was a disaster. We were travelling to Lethbridge for a Atom Hockey Tournament and booked this hotel two months in advance. When calling to confirm we were part of the block of rooms the desk clerk asked three times what we wanted to book. After the third time we hung up and called back the following day. We arrived this past Friday. The kids were so excited. They were playing in the pool and promptly got kicked out. Several parents were at the pool supervising the kids and it was 9pm however the pool was open and yes the kids were loud but what did they expect when its a hockey team of nine year olds. The hotel was happy to take the booking knowing we were travelling in as a hockey team. Friday evening desk staff were rude and had no interest in recognizing the kids were excited and happy to be at the hotel and in the pool. Breakfast on Saturday in the restaurant was subpar at best. Buffet is very limited. Kids menu even less options. The adults ordered off the buffet and our kid pancakes off the kid menu. We shared a bowl of cereal with him and the server came by and said he would be charged for a full buffet as he had eaten the cereal. She too had no interest in knowing it was a shared bowl of cereal as he had already ordered off the kids menu. This hotel use to be so great. We have stayed there many times in the past 10 years however its been a few years and it has declined greatly. There are so many great hotels in Lethbridge and I would recommend any others outside of this hotel. It appears The Lethbridge Lodge feels a sense of entitlement and that people will continue to stay there in spite of the poor customer service. We certainly will not be back and I will encourage any other sports team to book elsewhere so the kids feel their experience is a positive one.
The Lodge used to be the place to stay. The rooms are dated and the bed was uncomfortable. The room was clean. The staff were friendly and service was good. The dining room menu is quite limited and only had one steak on the menu. (Not a high end cut.) the wine list is short. The dining room food was good but not amazing. Breakfast was good. I was surprised to see the restaurant staff wearing blue jeans.
The staff and management are very friendly . The room very clean and the pool side room was a nice touch ..... this hotel has always been good to my family ... what a beautiful pool jungle area . I was given a medical rate for my medical stay .... as I'm on a fixed income this has helped out alot ....
Our room (406) was HOT 24.9 C on arrival. The air con did not work to cool it down one bit, the noisy blower was sending out warm air on cool setting. We went out for dinner and still hot upon return 2 hours later, tried to sleep with only the sheet and still too hot. Called front desk to complain, they switched us to room 403. The heater/air con was too noisy to use, room was stuffy and smelled funny, like a former smoking room. After only getting maybe 6 hours sleep, we were awoken to construction in the next room to ours.
When I moved the couch to pull something in it was discussing. I told staff when i checked out she just oh. It was also very hot and the air conditioner just made noise and didn't help at all. I would think twice about staying there again.
It used to be "the place to stay", now it is a hotel to avoid. From the moment we got there our room had not been cleaned, and was so called "upgraded" to a courtyard room. The room was extremely dated, worn out carpet, dirty walls, broken tiles in the bathroom, 2 towels, hair on the tub, coffee maker dirty. The walls in the hallways dirty, rugs totally worn out, garbage on the elevator floors....I could go on. This hotel needs major repairs. Thank you to the front end staff for being curteous. Unfortunately I will not be staying again, nor recommending it to anyone.
The staff is really good. The food is good. The coffee is amazing. The room was sufficiently clean. The bathrooms are old and tiny. I guess they are renovating. The air conditioning turned on and off and was very loud. Our fridge did not go on and was replaced. The pool was clean. Hot tub was ok. It is tolerable but outdated in many ways. Way better than the Days Inn. We left there for this place. Not enough plug ins for devices. Oh - and the TV has no "guide" so you cannot tell what is on atall. Nice enough rooms for regular short term stay. Good luck.
We just returned home from a weeklong stay in the "Bridge" and found two very exciting pieces of information. First, the lodge has been purchased by the Sandman Hotel chain and second, the new management is undertaking systematic renovations. They have commenced on the 4th floor and this should be done in December, according to the Manager. They will proceed with floor by floor renovations and upgrade finishing in Attrium. We discussed with him as we were checking out and unfortunately did not have time to review the work being undertaken. As I discussed with him, I always thought it was a shame that such a wonderful facility had been left to deteriorate, particularly the rooms and hallways. The lobby is great, the restaurants and bar is great and finally the rest is being done. Good News
The hotel is very dated and the rooms are a bit dingy. The rooms surround a nice looking enclosed atrium with a pool and hot tub but the pool had no walk in steps and was way too cold to swim in, even for my niece and nephew. The atrium also amplifies sound so while it's a nice view from the room, any noise is bothersome as you can hear it clearly from your room. The staff however were very nice and friendly and let us check out after one night even though we booked for 7 nights. Wouldn't go back as the accommodations are just not up to par.
Stayed a night at the lodge and must say, the interior setting of a jungle is nice, the water fall and such are very lovely and it has a nice humid feeling. But the rooms are showing their age as the design it old, the beds abit small and the bathroom are clearly old. They have an old box unit tv! Need to update for sure.
