Beautiful building but the bathroom in our room was a joke. Very overpriced room. Hampton Inn room is superior. Again the overall building is amazing, the the room was not worth the cost.

I will start with the positives: The historic exterior of the property is charming, the flowers are gorgeous, and the view of Banff Springs is outstanding. The staff is also very friendly. The areas for opportunity: The cost is not worth the value. We paid $1,200 USD for one night and it was maybe worth half that. When we checked in at 5pm, we paid extra for an upgrade, and our room was not ready for ~3+ hours. The hotel did offer us a food and beverage credit, which we used at the chophouse. One of our meals was good, the other was terrible. The manager was very understanding and kind, but a disappointing experience. The rooms are VERY small and worn. Huge gauges in the walls, scuffs, incredibly small bathroom. While there are some positives, I would not recommend to stay here. There are other hotels that may not have the view and prestige, but the cost at the Fairmont is definitely not worth it.

Was excited to stay here, but once there the place was just average. The castle was impressive when we first pulled up but the novelty wore off by time we checked in. Wouldn't stay here again if in the area.

They don’t treat everyone the same here. I was given a terrible room with a view of tarp and construction material and when I asked they told me “looks like you booked with a 3rd party” Fairmont gold people get treated very well. The elevator was covered with rags and lots of construction equipment everywhere in the building the gave us. Rooms are average and building really old. But boy what a beautiful city and area otherwise. Hotel restaurants were fully booked most nights but lots of good food available in the city.

We were in a building that was under construction. Our room had views of dumpsters and materials. It was such a bummer. It was not worth the money.
