Beautiful location on beach.
Shane and his family that run the Hotel CORAL REEF were extremely polite, courteous and helpful in every way. Any request we had for services and support were addressed immediately! They were "down to earth" people and made our stay there very pleasant! It is because of them, that on our next trip to KAUA'I, we will book the Hotel CORAL REEF!
The rooms say soundproofed, but i heard a party outside my room late. It says A/C, but the unit didn't have a controller in the room to turn it on. The clock was on the wrong times, so I couldn't easily set an alarm. The walls are marked up and need painted. The sinks dont have drain stops in them, and the toilet was running all night. I never got a receipt, and am still trying to get one. Last minute booking was over $50 cheaper for the person who booked calling in the same time I booked on Orbitz. All in all... great location that needs some TLC and has great potential.
Well the room was very dark and had a very bad smell , like molding in the carpet possibly. Not worth the price that was paid .
I love everything about this place. Family owned, super friendly, close to everything. Anytime I come to kapaa this will be my first choice.
Great staff and excellent location. Hotel is just old and the room was kinda dirty. View was fantastic though!
This is a hidden gem in Kapaa. The premium oceanfront rooms have sweeping views of the beach, hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and a down to earth hotel staff that go above and beyond. Kudos!
Property itself needs some upgrade and the hallways and stairs need some cleaning. The staff's friendliness makes up for the property. We also liked its location - beach access and very near some great restaurants.
Our room was completely updated. Comfortable bed, large tub. Easy access. Our balcony looked out to the ocean and it was clean and quiet. The staff was awesome and I loved Miss Peggy Sue. She had some dessert in the office that she shared along with some information about the hotel and was an absolute delightful lady!
Location!! What a beautiful view, basically right on the ocean. We had the premium suite on the third floor, highly recommend it. We used the bikes to ride all the way to the end of the Kapaa bike trail, and while the staff person when asked if we should know anything about the bikes she replied "they're old", we had no problem with them! We walked to Sam's Ocean View restaurant and had the BEST dinner. We swam in the pool and it was great. Liked being on this side of Kapaa, near many great places to eat. Book well in advance if you can for a better deal. Great price for all that you get (wonderful view, sound of the ocean, two-room suite, etc). Highly recommend it here!
It's right next to the ocean. Very good location. Few Tiny Roaches in room Rug is old Bed is old Location location location is oceanfront, and in middle of kaapaa town
very pretty views for my 1 night stay
Just few steps away from the beach. They have bikes for free rental. Extremely centralized locations and shopping options.
Beautiful property with great views of the ocean and access to the bike trail
We were in a nice, new room, on the third floor (top), overlooking the beach, which was less than 20 feet away. Went to sleep with the screen door only, listening to the waves crash softly against the shore. IT DOES NOT GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS! Like all of Kauai, you have to listen to the damn roosters all day, starting at 5 AM. But it is worth it. Good place!
We extended our vacation by a day so needed one more nights stay somewhere. We found an ocean view room available at Coral Reef. The room was very nice and comfortable and recently remodeled. Someone had forgotten to clean the tub area though in the bathroom as there was some hair in the tub that we took care of right away. It had a gorgeous ocean view - for this price it was a real treat to have the sounds of the waves right outside your balcony door. We didn’t use the pool but the waterfall looked nice. We rode a couple of the hotel bikes up and down the bike/walking path behind the hotel which goes quite a ways up the east coast and was really lovely. Keep in mind this is a busy area so you might hear some noise coming from the highway nearby or the walking path/park below. We walked a few doors down to Sams Ocean View and had a fantastic dinner and drinks. We liked the vibe there in Kapaa - it’s fun and laid back with more of a retro feel but a little busier than other areas. The staff is really nice and helpful at Coral Reef. If you’re looking for a quiet resort type place away from traffic this is not it. I would definitely stay here again though as we don’t mind a little hustle/bustle if it means there’s fun things to do nearby.
