We stayed at the Hotel Meria while we were in town visiting colleges. From the time we pulled up to the hotel, to the moment we checked out, everything was flawless. At the front desk, Kiraz took great care and a lot of time in order to make sure our stay was perfect in every way. She recommended wonderful restaurants (she even had a couple of appetizers sent to our table when we went to dinner the first night), gave us directions to all the different colleges, etc. She was extremely gracious and professional and a big part of the reason our stay was such a success. The rooms were beautiful, large and spotless. We will definitely be back!

Good hotel with comparaison to its location " perfect" all araction with walk distance but its tidy for couple with children . Wonderfull view from terrace when taking breakfast from sister hotel Adamar facing Merial included into the reservation fees. i very recommand it to single and couples.

I found this little hotel to be centrally located and within walking distance from ALL tourist attractions. The rooms are clean and fully air-conditioned. The staff in the hotel are always available to assist with queries and have a cheerful attitude.

Located in the centre of the old town. Small clean and economic place to stay. The decoration of the rooms are very nice, too. They use the space properly for sure! I like the service of the stuff was very professional and friendly. It is walking distance to every where so helps you to avoid from taxis. The breakfast is in the sister hotel roof top - the view is fantastic. Need to leave the hotel to take breakfast but it is just located 1 minute away. 100 per cent reccommended

We stayed for a week in October, this hotel was a great base for our first visit to the city. Walking distance to all the main attractions and the tram network, there are a number of restaurants and a small shop if you want to buy any snacks or drinks to take back to your room. The room was small but perfectly formed and perfect for a city break.

Likes: (1) Literally a 5 minute walk from hotel to Hagia Sophia & Blue Mosqu (2) From our room we could view the top half of Hagia Sophia and hear the beautiful sound of the "Call to Prayer". {Photo included} 3) Relatively inexpensive nightly room rates. Dislikes: (1) There is no dining option on site. As such, there is no room service or late night snacks available. You must go across the street to their sister hotel (Adamar Hotel) for the buffet breakfast every morning. (2) House cleaning comes by every day, however, she does NOT change out your towels automatically. I guess the towels have to be really soiled or placed on the floor in order to be replaced. New bath towels is not an automatic amenity. {Photos included} (3) No face towel, only hand and bath towel provided. Luckily we always travel with towel backup. (4) We stayed 8 nights and our linen was not changed..... not even once! We didn't expect new linen daily but every 2-3 days would have been acceptable. I suppose we could have complained but we're not exactly the high -maintenance-complain-about-everything type of travelers. I didn't feel that we should have to actually ASK for linen changes.... even if the hotel is not 5-star. (5) Extremely small elevator. Upon arrival & departure only one person could use the elevator if transporting 1 or 2 pieces of luggage at the same time. (6) House keeping would leave the room's window open (presumably to allow a breeze to come in since the air-conditioner runs only when the room key is insertes into the electric keypad). The window (shown below) opens to an alley. Obvious problem: safety!! There's a fire escape just outside the window in which a person or cat (or worse, rat) could enter the room. We actually had to leave a note on the windowsill politely asking that the window not be left open in our absence. (7) At times the wifi was veryyyy slow.... (I'm talking 'dial-up' slow). It was free though... somwe got what we paid for. (8) Would not be an appropriate hotel for family with children because the rooms are quite small. This is more of a quaint boutique hotel for solo or couple travel for 1-2 nights.

It was a trip for 7 days with reservation at Merial Hotel which is a great value for relaxing after a big day of tourism. Staff were very helpful, gentel and calm . The hotel itself is small but i forget this issue due to its location in sultanahmet & heart of attractions (everything is near to you) . I recommend all to visit this location and benefit from Merial . Read all comments is a helpfull overview . Thank you Merial staff & Big thanks to Istanbul - Sultanahmet. You takes my mind.

This was a last minute booking and I was a little worried about the location. It turned out to be a great location and hotel was great. The room was big enough for 2 people and the bed was very comfortable and clean. Flat screen TV, AC, frig and digital safe in the room. Wifi worked great!! The only small issue was the bathroom. Climbing out of the shower may be tricky at first but once you get the hang of it, it's easy. The hotel is small and there are 2 rooms per floor. The elevator is a bit small but who books a hotel based on the side of an elevator? LOL. My room (401) was on the street side and it was very quiet at night. The front desk is manned 24 hours a day. At night they may lock the doors but just knock and someone will open them for you. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is on the top floor of the Adamar hotel across the street. The buffet was good and if you want an omelet make sure to ask for one. The view from the Adamar is great. Bring a camera! The Merial Hotel is within walking distance to the Hagia Sophia, The Blue Mosque, The Basilica Cistern and it's close to the Sultanahmet tram station. It is very safe to walk around at night too. I stayed at this hotel by myself and I never felt threatened walking around at night. But as always when traveling solo, keep your guard up, know your surrounding and use common sense. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

We love this place! It's like 5-10 mins walk to every major attractions. Staff (esp Sophia, a beautiful Armenian lady) are very friendly and helpful. They let us keep our luggage (after checkout) while we go sightseeing. The hotel is designed in traditional Ottoman style with a modern touch, so it was simple but elegant, and kinda give you a homey feeling. The room itself was not very big but sufficient, clean and comfortable.

Located in a major road, Merial Hotel is only about 200 meter from Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Toppkapi Palace and Sutanahmet Park. Nicely decorated in traditional style, it is clean, safe and easy to find and easy to reach. Walking distance to Sutanahmet trams station. Breakfast is at the rooftop of Adamar Hotel, its sister hotel, just across the road. Breakfast is very nice and from here you can see clearly all main attractions and the Bhosporus straits. It was very nice having breakfast and watching ferries passing by. You can order shuttle bus to the airport from the hotel.
