If you're expecting luxury then this is not your hotel. The rooms are comfortable but in need of some renovation, at least the one we stayed in. It took a long time to get checked in and to our room (about 1-2 hours at 3pm!!). The staff however are very welcoming, helpful and polite and made sure we were comfortable and relaxed in the main lounge as we waited for our rooms to be prepared, nice coffee and tea with cakes and baklava available on the house. This hotel and the Sura Hagia Sofia are directly opposite are linked and so you are able to use he facilities in both hotels which includes an outdoor pool, gym, sauna and hammam (the hammam is chargeable). The kids loved the pool and we took the opportunity to relax in the garden with refreshments as they played. By far the best thing about this hotel is it's location, come out the main door, turn right and walk 50 yards and you will see Blue Mosque imposing itself, a beautiful site. You are in most cases within walking distance of the main attractions in this part of Istanbul and the main road has all kinds of cafes, restaurants and other amenities. I would recommend Sultan Cafe which is right next to the Blue Mosque in the Hippodrome. So all in all the hotel is comfortable, relaxing and with its location you simply cannot go wrong. Pay a little bit more and stay in the centre to avoid the rip off taxis. The metro is good if you enjoy being packed into one in 30+ degrees heat. Have a great trip..

Loved the staff in the reception area, the momment we went in a lady reception (from morroco)welcomed us, started entertaining my little ones, on point, they gave us a room straight away even though we went in at 9am nd checkin was at 2pm. the place is amazing e.g deco and the interior 👌however we had a issue with a cleaner who refused to clean our room as it was in a mess she was rude and did not speak english, this was issue was sorted by the housekeeping manager who apologised about her behaviour! other than that I enjoyed my experience!

We requested in our booking to be picked up from the airport ahead of time, and nobody contacted us and nobody was at the airport! When we arrived, there was nobody working there, and it took them awhile to find the receptionist (we arrived at 2pm!). The room was Ok, clean but it is definitely not worth the money we paid! There are far better hotel options in Istanbul than this hotel!! Also, because we were there during the month of Ramazan, our breakfast was limited in the hotel. We had to go to the next hotel across the street to get a good breakfast. I do not celebrate this holiday and I also paid a fortune to stay at the hotel, having to go across the street to the next hotel for breakfast was ridiculous. Most of the hotel staff does not speak English, if you ask a question, they answer with "ok, yes, ok yes", and they keep standing around, chatting with each other, do not even move out of the way when you're walking, its very unprofessional and unwelcoming! Also, we were encouraged to try out the Turkish bath at the hotel. So we went to try it out. Again, we paid a fortune to try out the Turkish bath experience, and it was so unprofessional! The staff did not speak English, they are very unorganized, you do not even know where you are going or what is happening, and they try to end the private session as quickly as possible. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!! I don't care to pay any amount to receive quality service. THIS WAS HORRIBLE!! They will just take your money and give you terrible service. Look elsewhere in the area and don't book it.

This is not a 5 star nor even 3 star hotel. This place is terrible. I came with my family and it was a terrible disappointment. The room was awful -- too small and very strange layout. The bathroom was all glass, yes, you read that right, all glass with blinds inside. Half the blinds were broken and not very well sealed. I had my daughter with us so not a very private place when using the restroom! The staff were rude and tried to uncharge us om everything --even a shuttle ride back to the airport. I found one on my own for half the price. Do not stay here!

Be aware if you book a family room and get 214/215: mold smell from the bathrooms and stains from god know what on blankett, pulled and sofa. Got a new room one floor up just to find paper from candy in the bed and the complementary bathrobes full of stains. Solution new bathrobes and removed the blankett not what i think a 4 star hotel should do. The staff at the frontdesk helpful and serviceminded. The rooms throwed you back to the 80's.. Breakfast selection were good and Also the most tasted good. But dirty dishes and messy plates did pulled down the overall experience. Would i recommend it toa friendly no go for the ur sister hotel across the street instead or even better chose another one.

Luxurious hotel with great service and good caring staffs. The break fast was good but it was based on Turkish tastes and dishes rather than international dishes, in the opposite side of street there is another "sura Hagia Sophia" hotel which is much more expensive, but you can use the facilities including gym and pool of the Hagia when you stay in sura design so it seems rational to be in the cheaper one and use the expensive .

Apart from the location, I cannot believe the praise others are giving this place - here's why: Swimming pool - looks good until you get to it and realise you can't even sunbathe due to the 3 massive (covered) beds on the terrace! Who the hell wants to lie on a bed, out of the sun, next to a swimming pool? People were just coming by, having a look and then leaving. Also, the adjacent garden is totally overgrown and in desperate need of a gardener. Communication / management - I sent 3 emails asking for a taxi pick up on arrival. I never got a reply and paid over twice the rate. The manager didn't have a clue where the emails had gone (they didn't bounce back so went somewhere) and never offered me so much as a single Turkish Lira to compensate or show goodwill. Room - awful, modern décor, tasteless in the extreme. Minibar - soft drinks only. I hadn't realised Istanbul had become 'fundamental'. Would it be really too much to put a beer in the fridge for us infidel Westerners?

One of the most beautiful hotels I have ever stayed at. I will be returning I'm my next visit to the beautiful city of Istanbul. Located close to major attractions, would definitely recommend it to other travellers

The hotel is really clean and beautiful. Staff members are so friendly and happy to provide help. Food is delicious. The location is really wonderful in the heart of Sultan Ahmet area close to almost all of the attraction of the city.

came to Sura Design for our honeymoon and it was the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. Nothing is too small for these guys to do, and they went out of their way to make our stay a pleasure. The hotel is in close proximity to The Blue Mosque, as well as the grand bazaar
