They told us the room was ready, when we entered we saw people in the room doing renovations and changing the wallpaper. We told the receptionist and he said it takes 10 mins for them to finish sticking the wallpaper and then the room is ready for ur stay! We could clearly smell the glue and I told them we were not told about this beforehand but he was like no it’s alright we are doing this at every room atm and nobody has issues with it! When we asked for a room change he threatened us with a bad tune that he could only give us another room but it is way smaller. I told him that’s not fair as this is not what we paid for but he said it is what it is and we have to take it. No empathy, no respect for our right as guests, no room that is in a good condition. We were too tired to book another hotel after our long travel so we had no other choice but to stay. When we entered, the curtain was not installed so the cleaner lady stepped on the chair with her shoes and installed it in front of us. The table was full of dust and when we mentioned it, she just tried to put it away with her hands and not even a tissue. The toilet had stains showing it’s not cleaned properly. It is the worst stay I’ve ever had in Turkey and I can’t see how this is acceptable at all. Not only they don’t respect the basic guest rights but they threaten them and not even try to make the stay at least a bit more acceptable. Don’t book a room in this hotel even if it’s the only one left in Istanbul!
