I have seen this hotel rated 5-star in some booking sites. Well, this is definitely NOT a 5-star. And they do not charge as a 5-star either, so the price reflects the hotel's standards. I was given a nice corner room on 9th floor, room 909, which was spacious with an extra large bed, 2 couches and nice 40" TV and other standard features of any business hotel. However, the bathroom was a disaster as there was no Toothbrush and there was no way to have a shower without wetting the floor. The shower room had a weird 3/4 part glass frame + door. The 1/3rd part which was meant to be the door never stayed in place, it kept opening and water leaked to the bathroom floor. Even if it stayed in place, still some water would spill. NOT NICE. Reception staff were friendly, so was the other staff though many did not speak English. Breakfast was fabulous with a huge selection to cater to all tastes. Best feature was the 2 restaurant/cafes on site, Edwards and Lavazza.
I’ve stayed and reviewed very many luxury hotels which I’ve had the pleasure of staying at and sadly Byotell is the worst and I doubt there will be another worse than this. I will NEVER go back. The good. 1. Chef Edwards – Nice food and the room service was super swift. 2. Nice breakfast with two friendly welcoming staff who were Mr Mehmet Avci and Ms. Banu. These are the only professional staff I met. 3. Housekeeping staff didn’t speak English but were friendly by smiling. 4. Rooms are ok. Not 5 star quality but just ok. The issues 1. First day at Reception I was checking in a day earlier and asked what the day rate was, when I said I needed a minute to compare the rate with booking.com the receptionist made a fuss saying “ive already prepared the key and now you want me to cancel after all this work (which took him a minute). What he actually didn’t know is 15 years ago I was a receptionist at a luxury Marriott hotel in Dubai and to go on opera/Fidelio to change a booking date and make the key is something I can actually do in seconds, eyes closed. I was shocked how a Receptionist can think cutting a key is a big job! 2. Front Office staff especially have a very long way to go when it comes to customer service. Can you imagine being at a 5 star hotel and when you call twice to ask reception if there is a travel agency around or if they knew how I can contact Pegasus Travel/get to the mall and their response was “check on your computer via google??” 3. The bell boys, not sure whether it’s because of my race/gender and they thought I was broke or what, but they just stared at me carrying my own luggage, twice, never offered to help but stared, gossiping between themselves at the entrance. 4. Lobby staff – they have to have a training on how to smile and make guests feel at home. They are super serious, I was always dreading passing the lobby. It was so bad that I started wearing a scarf to hide my face because I was just so uncomfortable passing them 5. It’s very weird to go to a reception and see staff serving you, seating on a stool/chair. How do you have a chair at a reception at a 5star hotel? 6. Very noisy rooms. I could hear guests showering, shouting, banging doors, singing and couples having s.... Yeah that!!. 7. During check out I went to pay for food I ate at the restaurant and I was told ! it’s 50euros”! No receipt, nothing!! 8. No consistency. Some days tea/coffee/water was provided, other days I had to call and ask. 9. They have no English TV channels except BBC and CNN. 10. Slow wifi which keeps going off and on 11. Not only are the rooms noisy but lobby as well 12. Very slow lifts That was the first and last time I’ll ever stay in this hotel. it’s a joke to even have it on here!! Stay away!!
I have stayed in the hotel while I was recovering from a surgery and this hotel was absolutely horrible, very noisy rooms, you can hear almost everything that goes on in the room next to your. Everybody smokes in their rooms and all the smoke comes in your room and when you ask the Manager to move you to a smoke free floor you get nothing, just because they dont have one. So much for helping their clinic`s patients recovery. I wouldnt recommend it or come in here again, especially if you ask for late check out and they tell you you need to pay for a whole night ....
The hotel staff is interested in comforting you and making your stay convenient. The hotel is quite full of a bit noisy type of guests that is not convenient in the night. The rooms are comfortable however the economic room is really really extremely small - that I had booked first and immediately changed to a bigger one. The housekeeping forgot every time sthg to complete. Taxi is a problem as they only work with one taxi stand and in Istanbul its always the challenge on rainy das - so call earlier the reception so you get a cab. It is a good deal when you check on price / service. I stayed one week - that was quite good. The location is perfect due to the 5 mins walking to the Metro and 15 mins taxi ride to Bagdat Caddesi (Suadiye).
The hotel was amazing by all means. From the room view to the staff to the DELICIOUS food. The Gym was spacious and well-equipped. The Location was also great. Subway and bus stops were just a few steps from the hotel. We received an upgraded room from the very kind receptionist with a complimentary fruit basket :) We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the Asian side.
Our beds were comfortable, rooms were clean. We felt happy and safe in this hotel. Lots of variety for breakfast. Very pleasant experience and will return again. Great location as metro is 2 minutes walk away. Very big shopping centre across the road where you can find absolutely anything.
Generally good service with good assortments for breakfast , lunch and dinner .Good atmosphere with friendly staff , only negative point is location which is not in the city center .if you want to grab a bite or drink there are a few options in a mile range . Room size is ok with clean and neat bathroom .
Really impressive hotel. Everything worked, the hotel was clean and the service was good. The hotel is in a bit of a weird location so definitely need the google maps on to find, but outside of that I was really impressed
if i take spa into account i would rate this hotel as average.. rooms are large, comfortable, cosy: PERFECTLY CLEAN; price is really reasonable for a 5 stars there s everything you may need: sockets near the bed, large bath tube (not deep enough though), comfortable bed; one thing isnt good: curtains are too short and thin, room isnt dark in the morning, all light is passing through :( ; staff is very nice but they forgot a lot of things: they forgot every day to refill coffe, tea, spoons; we had to ak reception 2 or 3 times each day, as they say they willl bring it, but they forgot; and when we asked something, it took 2 phone calls minimum each time to have it; but they are nice, though they need to improve service ; spa is very disapointing: not usable! first girls managing the spa are not nice: first time we ve been there , we asked them where to go, the girl looked at us with stupid empty eyes and didnt explain us anything; we looked for the lockers, where the spa was, we were lost; ,; second time i ve been there to book a massage, they said everything was already booked for the 2 coming days; which i can understand but the girls there were very arrogant and severe.. THE POOL IS FREEZING COLD! all the spa inside, corridors, outside pool.. all is freezing cold! impossible to enjoy, relax or stay in pool; the worst part is the jacuzzi: water is so cold you can t stay in there; i told the reception and they said"temperature is standard": i ve been in a lot of spa and i can tell that the temperature is not normal for a jacuzzi! so: you can not stay in pool, you can not stay in jacuzzi, you cant stay outside: what kind of a spa is it?? THE turkish bath also are not useable and worthless: the temperature inside is like a normal room temperature, may be 25 degrees: what is the point? i entered and went out immediatly as it s just a normal room where you can have a shower, they are not real turkish bath ; alsos there was noone there , to answer your questions; also they ask you to wear a ridiculous bath cap to use the pool.. which i didn t ; any way there was noone there , no customers, cause everything is freezing cold you just feel like running away; so :if they fire the spa manager (how can they not realize noone is going there because noone can stay there!) , to have a proper spa, where we can chill and enjoy, and educate the spa receptionists , to teach them how to talk properly to customer and to smile a bit may be...,,??(or replace them!), and improve service a bit, and change the curtains, i will return there; because the room is very very nice, and reception staff is nice; so basically if you dont miNd using the spa and be awaken in the morning by the light, you can go there; (we havent eaten there so i cant tell if the restaurant and breakfast is good) ; if the spa is an important criteria for you in a 5 stars hotel, well.. just choose another one! :)
We stayed for 7 days in this hotel..it was our first visit to istanbul so we spent most of the time outside .but one day we were tiered so we decided to take a break and get benefit from hotel facilities but i was not satisfied .. the swimming pool is small and no one can speak english. I only went to the sauna for a while then i left.. ... The hotel was clean with good service .. Breakfast was good .. It's close to 🚇 station and there is a shopping mall in the other side of the st.
