We stayed in Taksim star hotel in July was a dreadful nightmare experience. Rooms were so small dirty and noisily at night. I advise everyone if they don’t want to spoil their trip to Istanbul try to keep away from this hotel. The staff was unfriendly and trying to deceive you all the time.
Hotel is very old and was renovated to look modern. The rooms in this hotel are not king size as was promised by the reservation, they are standard double beds. When I asked about this, the manager insisted that it was a king size bed. My legs do not hang off a king size bed. Furthermore, the bed is of very poor quality. The walls are paper thin and we could hear people singing at the top of their lungs in the middle of the night. When I tried to call downstairs, nobody answered at 3 AM. The hotel is falling apart, the toilet flush valve fell off the wall when pressed, the television is mounted away from the bed so it cannot be watched while in bed. There is no iron for clothes. The restaurant downstairs is the only saving grace of the hotel, as it is a pretty good quality Indian restaurant. And the location is good, but you will have trouble getting to the hotel as only one of the many roads going towards Taksim square are open. Book with caution.
My first room wasn't good but The Hotel manager changed for me and gave me a better room. he is very good and helpful. my room was good and clean. Its a good hotel as an overall. its 5 minutes walking from Taksim Square. The things that I didn't like it at the hotel that you could hear anyone talking on the stairs. In general the hotel is good
Really it's a bad hotel 1. No TV remote in the room and asked about it take 2 days to get the technician to bring it by chance also. 2. water leaking in the toilet for 3 days and still not fixed yet. 3. No internet connection. 4. No no electricity in the room and ask me to check with management next day morning. 5. Rooms too small and different in the pictures. really it make the vacation a terrible one.
we had to leave the hotel while our holiday because of many reasons we booked a new room in another hotel because it was near we wete surprised that in our room there were guest ( we didnt check out when we left the hotel in the first time)hotel but the last day we had to go back to taksim
I'm staying at this hotel. It's nice... I mean right in the heart of Istanbul - friendly staff! How ever - the Indian restaurant in the house makes the whole hotel smell. Also I booked a room with a view feature. But the windows are dirty (inside and outside) and the table by the focal point is wrecked. Destroying a lot of the extra feature I actually paid for. Breakfast is nice, though you have to go about 50 meters down the street (at their sister hotel) for that.
I booked this hotel for 5 nights via booking.com. When I went there for check in on 21 october they told me that the room that you booked has no window. I told that but you have not write about it on booking.com and it seems from the photos on the booking.com that rooms have window. How can a human live in a room without window? They told me that if you want to change your rooms, you should pay 60 euro extra. The hotel has no own restaurant, you should go for breakfast to another hotel restaurant. We paid 60 euro and they gave me another room with window as a standard double room. When I entered into the room, I saw that everywhere is very dusty and dirty. Also there was rule that guests have not right to bring any kind of food to the rooms. There was no kettle also. Everywhere was smelling. The room was very small and lightning was very bad, wifi didn't connect and one of light lamp was broken and hanged from the ceiling as if seems it would fall to my head. I called reception from the room and told about the problem. He told that staff had gone to the mosque, they can come to your room after they come back. The room was very hot, I wanted to make cool down ( to air), but I saw the I can not, because the tool for air conditioner did not work. I called the reception again, he told that do not do anything, I (reception) will make cool down your room from my ( his) computer. I waited a lot, I nothing was happened. I called again, he told that staff have not come yet. I took my computer, went to the reception. I asked him to make my computer to connect wifi and make the room cool down. He tried, but could not. He told that lets go to your room, may be I can. We went to my room, but computer did not connect to wifi, and the room was not aired. The staff to fix light lamp and to clean the room, had not come yet. I asked, about my money back, because I wanted to move another hotel. They returned only 60 euro that I paid on that day while change the room. I moved to another hotel, paid more less money for very good condition an d my computer connected to wifi very well.
Very small rooms and a bad smell in the hotel and u can hear the noise from other rooms it's totally uncomfortable, I don't recommend it at all sure there is other better options . don't go for 3 start hotels in Turkey at least go for 4 stars
We vizited hotel in june. Good lokation. We stayed in room 303. It was terribke room. No window. Very small.not very ckean. We asked few times to clean room. Room is very uncomfortable. No place to move at all . Staff is not helpfull. When we asked to give us room with window they asked for approximatly double price. For breakfast we daily go to another hotel. Its not so far. Breakfast it acceptible. I dont rekomend this hotel. There are a lot of better hotels near for approximatly same price. Its the worst hotel I stayed whenever.
I booked two rooms at this hotel "2 superior sea view rooms" for two nights (separate nights) since my trip was Istanbul-Antalya-Istanbul. Well at first check in the hotel couldn't give me the two rooms i booked, instead they tried to send me to another hotel, but at the end i returned to this hotel and they gave me normal rooms "not as i booked" ,, but at the next check in , Mr.Ardan who i think is the manager of the hotel, gave me a suite instead of room i booked to make up for the first inconvenience , the room was amazing, with balcony. Overall for a three star hotel and for the price i booked the rooms were very new and nice so i would recommend this hotel and i would book again in Taksim star.
