Armada Istanbul Old City Hotel

Good:You should chose the room with sea view. More quiet and you can see the sunrise in the room. The breakfast is good and you can sit in the Terrance to see the view of ocean or Mosque. Bad:The wall is not thick so, you can easily hear voice from next room. The room is not too big. Anyway, It's a old hotel but has been renovated so you still can see some old furniture which is still well kept. The price is reasonable.

I stayed here in 2016 and it's really quite very clean staff are very very friendly and they are very keen to help your stay very comfortable. I asked for 2 rooms as it was me and my daughter I asked for the rooms to be as close together as possible (it was next door). It also has a ATM machine outside the hotel and it's just a min from the sea and very central to everything.

We stayed 3 nights at Armada Istanbul. The location is great. It is a 6-7 minute walk to Blue Mosque/Hagia Sophia which was why we came to Istanbul. Be forewarned, some of the walk is uphill and through a sort of rundown area, but we felt safe, even walking back to the hotel late at night. The room was clean. Bathroom adequate. Bed comfortable. Breakfast buffet was traditional Turkish and good. The terrace view was magical. Reasons why I did not give this a rating of 5: 1) I paid for sea view room but the room we were given had lots of trees blocking about half of the sea. When my boyfriend went to inquire about getting a room with a better view of the sea, the hotel clerk that just checked us in was very bitter about his complaint and said that the hotel had no other rooms. Being in the customer service industry myself, I think she should have been a bit more apologetic instead of angry. In fact, the whole time we were there, we did not feel that the hotel staff was very friendly to us. I was beginning to think it was because we were American, as I saw them being more friendly to other customers. Or maybe they were not comfortable speaking English, and therefore wanted the conversations with us over as quickly as possible? I can only speculate. 2) After we first checked in, we immediately went to the rooftop terrace to get a drink. It was around 10:30 at night. We were given a table and menus but no one ever came over to take our order. We tried to get their attention, bu we felt like we were deliberately being ignored. After waiting about 20 minutes (we did enjoy the breeze and sitting looking at the mosques all lit up), we decided to just go back to our room and go to sleep. But, that, coupled with the check in experience, left a bad taste that I still cannot shake off. I have heard that Istanbul tourism is suffering. It might help to encourage more business if the tourists there felt more welcomed. I think this hotel's management may want to talk to the staff about smiling at their customers and not treat us like we are inconveniences to their day. A little pleasantry can go a long way. Also, the hotel may want to advertise that some rooms with only partial views of the sea.

Armada is an old hotel in Sultan Ahmet region。It has 30 years old history。Inside the hotel you will see classic Ottoman House design。Furniture ,windows etc ... Personel was nice to us 。Restaurant food is perfect。Ambiance is good on the Top Floor。The owner of hotel is a man of taste。The prices are much lower than before ,Turkey is going through bad times for Tourism, thats sad。

I loved the location - ideal when you travel to Istanbul. The rooms were big enough and traditional turkish furniture and accents. The Breakfast area is on the roof terrace that offers breathtaking views of the Blue Mosque and it offers a very good selection of food as well .Also, don't freak out if you are woken up at 5 due to call for prayer, as you can hear it from here loud and clear

What bliss! This hotel is a remodeled home dating back to the Ottoman period. The sleeping rooms and the bathrooms are modern and efficient. The remodeling did not interfere with the charm of the original home. The restaurant and its terrace are on the top floor. Not only is the food divine, but the views are extraordinary. From the terrace, you look down on the Bosporus on one side, look up at the Blue Mosque on the other side, and look over at Hagia Sofia. What could be better? It is an easy walk through the winding streets of the old city to get to any of these sites, and the neighborhood itself is a treat. I truly did not want to leave this hotel.

Location of the hotel is great for walking to and around the major Istanbul attractions. Rooms are more than adequate and the breakfast is superb. The restaurant is also very good and very good value too. We have been twice now and tell all our family and friends that they MUST stay here.

Fantastic place unforgettable Lovely people who serves Super location and very central in Sultanmahmet View fantastic on the phosphorus Great restaurant with variety Wonderful rooms with style Breakfast in heaven Love the place Thank you for the loveliest location with colorful canary birds which you would love when you see. In the entry of the location turtles swim in the fountain. The deodorant of the hotel soft amber mist smell which is terrific. The terrace is a heaven looking to the phosphorus but also to the lovely bleu musk. It is so nice to sit there and have that wonderful dinner under the sunset! Heaven I will always return there!

Me and my wife stayed there for 4 days and it was a treat. Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia are a 5-6 walk away and you can save a lot of taxi money by staying in Sultan Ahmet area instead of Taksim Sqaure.

The hotel is located in the old town area of Istanbul. There is a veiw of the Blue Mosque and The Bosphurus from the roof top ! The hotel is room was clean, comfortable, and fairly priced for the location ! Breakfast is good and conveinantly served from 8;00 till 10: 30. The location is within walking distance of most major attractions. I feel it is good place for families, individuals, and couples ho want location, value and a comfortable room !
