Very good hotel with character conveniently located close to the attractions in the area. 5-10 mins walking distance from the Hagia Sophia and close by to the sea front. Has a decent spread for the breakfast buffet although it remained mostly the same throughout the week. The views from the terrace were quite nice -especially on the side overlooking the sea. The rooms were clean, decent sized and comfortable with all the usual amenities available. The carpeted corridors and turquoise designs had an old world charm that was quite appealing. The lobby too was quite interesting with a small fountain with tortoises and some antique curios spread around. The staff were quite helpful and friendly and would gladly let you know how to get to most of the attractions around the area. The hotel also offer you an early (although limited)breakfast if you need to leave earlier than when the breakfast buffet opens. Overall can definitely recommend this hotel for tourists looking to explore the area.
We only stayed overnight but really like the hotel, except for the internet which was appallingly slow. The breakfast is excellent. Wish we had time to enjoy some drinks at the rooftop bar which I'm sure would have been a memorable experience. Would certainly consider staying here again, if they can get their wi-fi going properly.
This was my second time staying in the hotel having previously visited in 2006. Not much has changed in the last 12 years. The breakfast is very good and has a wide choice which should cater for everyone. The hotel is conveniently located for the various sightseeing that is on offer in this part of Istanbul and it isn't too far from the bars and restaurants. The rooms were clean as was the hotel generally. The safe in each room is an added bonus. However, one of the fundamental parts of staying in a hotel is to sleep well. Unfortunately, for us it just wasn't possible. The wooden floors in the rooms coupled with the paper thin walls mean every foot step, knock etc. from the room next door could be heard. You could even hear conversations late at night. The wooden hangers in the built-in wardrobes are too long which means when you shut the doors they bang against the door and subsequently the wall next door. All very annoying. Rooms by the lifts are especially noisy for obvious reasons. On reflection I would look to stay at another hotel next time.
Best Hotel in the old city ,warm welcoming stuff, specially reception help us for everything lovely stay.👍👍👍great place with sea view ,close to Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque.u should try it👍👍👍 I will come again
We would like to thank Mr. Ibrahim from Armada Hotel Old city for his valued advises and great help while we were staying in Armada Hotel (from 19th. - 25th. Feb.). Beside of the excellent atmosphere in the Hotel and location, the great hospitality and kindness of Mr. Ibrahim made our staying and other arrangements very special. Thank you very much Mr. Ibrahim. Dr. Zuhair and family.
Hotel is 5 mins walk from all main attractions such as blue mosque, hagia sofia etc. Best to go 9am when it opens and it's clear or gets very busy. The hotel is hour drive from istanbul airport and hour n half from sabiha goken. Google transfers and use the istanbultransfers works out to €25 for 2 people one way. The hotel itself is really clean, the beds are comfy and bathroom is clean. Double delux booked and pics attached. The staff for me were terrible. Very rude and tried constantly selling the new years ticket. When we said we got it the main manager i believe said well fine goodluck in a stern dissapointed way. Then regarding our return cab to airport we booked another and he again said well you might not get it but goodluck because we didn't book with him. So rude and no smile from the beginning. When asking questions the lady is on her phone messaging and talking to us. It's rude in the UK as I'm sure its everywhere else. Breakfast selection is big but mainly cheeses but does the job. All in all good location and clean hotel, staff a big let down.
Excellent place to stay close to everywhere staff are very nice and friendly comfortable rooms i hight recomend this hotel if i come to istanbul again i would stay in here again. Cok guzel ve rahat bir otel heryere yurume mesafesi olarak bile cok yakin odalar temiz ve rahat vereci otel calisanlari yardimci ve hos
I found the staff in this hotel to be extremely friendly & accomodating. Great customer service. Delicious breakfast buffet and high quality and has a good selection. Ideal location. Highly recommend staying here
My husband and my friends stayed in the hotel for 6 nights from 1st week of December. Although the rooms are not as big as you may have expected but its still alright and comfy to rest at night from the long hours of walk. The location is so convenient to the main attractions in Istanbul as they are just few blocks away such as Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, SultanAhmet Square etc.. If you are planning to stay within the vicinity of these attractions, I suggest for you to book in Armada. The hotel have cleaning services everyday and their reception is 24 hours. They Staff in the hotel are so helpful especially in explaining to the taxi drivers where we would like to go as most of the drivers don't speak English. Thanks Armada for making our stay in Istanbul memorable. We surely will go back soon!
we stayed in the hotel in may 2017 for 3 nights. the place had a secure parking which was the most important reason we booked it. it was very easily accessible from the road (marmara side) by the car. it is very close (by foot) to sultan ahmet and everything you want to see there. it is also very close to bus stops on marmara seaside where you can catch the bus to basically anywhere in istanbul. the fasciites were very good. room was clean, bed also good, little too soft if you can imagine. the staff was nice. the breakfast was amazing, so many extremely tasty options. the breakfast room was very spacious, clean, we could also eat on the terrace. the lobby was very nice with a lovely fountain with turtles inside. my son loved playing with them and they even motivated us to get a turtle for our home when we came back. they have a small exibition of old traveling memorabilia, turkish uniforms, old vases, all kinds of things. through one one the halls my little son and i found a piano and some old trunks.
