the hotel is really a very nice hotel and the evening light is wonderful The pool is a lukewarm and olympic pool. the comfort of the rooms is really nice and clean, the receptionist never let you down and respond instantly. very good view of the morning breakfasts very good. it is possible to go out in the evening and have tea and if you like you can sit at the entrance and look at the magazines and chat
This is the second time I visit the lavish InterContinental hotel in Istanbul, after initially opting for a cheaper hotel this time but regretting that decision. Staying there strategically places you in the hub of the city -Taksim Square. Simply exiting the hotel releases you into the heart of Istanbul and some of its best restaurants and shops. Even if you decide to stay in for the day, breakfast and room service will certainly not fall short of your expectations.
I stayed at the hotel for 4 days and all what I can say is that you get what you came for to get at this hotel . The intercontinental excellent standard of service hospitality and care . Thank you intercontinental.
I have a long time wanted to see Istanbul. It was somewhat difficult to choose where in Istanbul to stay so I opted for IC which is usually a good choice. IC is located next to Taksim Square (see photo). An entrance to Taksim metro is just around the corner from IC, maybe 1 min walk. As Istanbul has excellent very cheap public transport this makes the IC location perfect. Just purchase an Istanbulkart and load it with 50TL, it will last the trip. When arriving to IC I noticed all the security measures taken. Cars must pass a gate to the entrance and all visitors go through a metal detector. I was upgraded to an executive suite due to membership in IC Ambassdor programme. Room was very nice with a view over the Bosphorus. Good blackout curtains, bed and temperature made me sleep like a baby. I liked the restaurant at the top where you have an amazing view over the city. The only thing I didn't like was the price of beer and wine. Now, Turkey is a Muslim country and that might be the reason why a beer costs TL50 and the cheapest bottle of room service wine is €50. Is access to Executive Club lounge worth it? Breakfast is basic though scrambled eggs is available. Breakfast is available to 11am which is excellent if you want to sleep late. Then they have cocktail hours 5-7 pm if I remember correctly. Beer and wine on display, Raki and other liqours on demand. Finally a huge warm thank you to all staff at IC, you are second to none. Always smiling and helpful. When I come back to Istanbul, IC will be my home.
For a great location, the highest standard of service, good food and elegant surroundings, stay at the Intercontinental Hotel in Taksim. The best choice for a luxury hotel in Istanbul. The list of the positive elements is very long, and I cannot think of anything that I did not like.
We are stay in InterContinental Istanbul for a week (25March to 1 April), The hotel has great location close to Taksim Square and Taksim Metro. I stay in Club room with sea view and lounge access, The view is great I see the sea and city both and lounge silent with drinks and snacks. Every day the room was cleaned regularly by a kind woman, and here I wanted to thank the lady who is on the fifth floor and clean my room every day. Service at this hotel is great. Very friendly and helpful staff in reception, restaurants and lounge. I think rooms would need an upgrade desperately because most of the appliances are outdated. I am an ambasador member and received all amenities as Gold Ambassador, including late chekout. And in the end I recommend this hotel to everyone.
Stayed at Hotel Intercontinental for a week in September. The hotel has great location close to Taksim Square. Room specious and had great views over city, as I stayed at top floors with Lounge access. Room itself old-fashioned, and would need an upgrade. Worn-out carpets and old fashioned furniture in room. Bathroom spacious and always clean. Service and personnel at this hotel is great. Very friendly and helpful staff in reception, restaurants and lounge. This hotel has a lot of potential due to great personnel, but rooms would need an upgrade desperately
I have spent two nights in that hotel, the location is in the center of taksim square .the hotel is big one.the spa is a little bit expensive.room size is so good.i didn’t like the room service guys they knocked my door at 8 am and keep doing this .i likes the hotel though and I would like to visit it again.
Just checked out today for the second visit after two years to this wonderful hotel, yet found it to be one of the best options for family breaks, short stay, or business. The location is excellent near to the famous Takseem Square in the heart of Istanbul. It is also close to the main historical attractions like Dolma bahcha palace, hagia Sofia, Sultan Ahmad mosque, etc. Highly recommended hotel.
