Wyndham Grand Istanbul Kalamis Marina Hotel

The place works well, it's kind of luxurious in a tacky fashion. The service is ok, the services quite expensive compared to the room rate. The wifi is slow. On the positive side, the restaurant, gym, spa and pools are top notch. The neighbor is definitely recommended, with plenty of good restaurants at a walking distance. So, good for longer business stays.

We stayed in this hotel many times before. We observed it fading out but in our last stay we realized that it reached the deep. As two families, we booked 4 rooms with executive lounge option. Firts things first, they upgraded us to Marina view rooms and during the complaining process they mentioned this favor... :) Funny but true. They really mentioned it. First, The poor quality of the provided foods and beverages is out of question for my complaint. But this was the worst executive lunch foods ever. Anyway... The problem is not that. One can and must it if the foods and beverages are not good enough. The thing is the door's lock was not functioning for 5 days and nobody was able to enter it unless the technical service guys were coming. Every time we wanted to enter we had to call the reception, they had to send someone who could not open the door, then who called the reception, which sent the technical service. This process happened every single time we tried to enter the executive lunch. We are told that the lock is not working but nobody did something to change or repair it. When complaint they said, "yes we know that the lock has a problem". Great approach. Another time there was no milk in refri. of the lounge. As there is no one serving, I asked the room service to send some milk. Believe it or not, it took 3 hours to get the milk after so many calls. Then one night at around 11.00 the bellboy of the hotel entered our room with another guest ... Literally they entered our room. Then they said that it was the guest who was being pushy to open the door and that they opened it. So in this hotel, if ever you push them to open somebody's door, they can open. I hope meanwhile you are in the room. During all this process of bad services, scandals all we heard was "You are right...we know...It is a personal mistake"... etc... Nothing else... My review here is only a small percentage of the bad service we faced during our stay. The thing is that they don't solve problems but just say "next time we'll do our best" as we would stay again in this place. All I can do is to share my experience. Unfortunately. Don't stay... Don't waste your time and money.

The room was clean, modern and tastefully decorated. The pools were really busy and crammed. Food was good and service was inconsistent. Some staff very friendly and helpful others less so. We checked out early as the experience was frustrating.

Stayed at this hotel because yacht marina is directly across the street and not too far from the Istanbul Yacht Club. The locale is the Fenerbache district on the Asia side of Istanbul, a district of very nice apartments overlooking the sea. Surrounded by restaurants and a short walk to everything you need. Entering the hotel from the semi-circular driveway, and after you pass through security, you are welcomed by the smartly dressed staff into a pleasing space that gives lets you know no corners are cut. If it's raining, umbrellas are provided to guests. Taking the elevator, you enter your room using a chipped card. The rooms are well appointed and clean, with all the amenities you'd expect, including a bar. The bath has rain shower and hand nozzle attachments; bath towels are of a better quality. The beds are large and comfortable, with good quality linen and comforters should you need. The air conditioning is minutely adjustable. The windows do open if you desire. The hallway carpet and design somehow dampen the noise level which is great. The French Second Empire-like design hotel has a huge variety of amenities - rooftop, indoor and outdoor pools, a large gym, full spa, steamroom, etc.. The downstairs pool is large enough to get good laps in. The rooftop pool is between the two rooftop bar/restaurants, both of which afford fabulous views of the sea. Full bar and a varied menu that was popular in the early evening. The morning buffet is large and complete, with a wide variety of western and Turkish foods, as well as eggs prepared to order. Staff are omnipresent, to whisk away a plate or cup. The management staff cares very much what their clients think of the Wyndham Grand Istanbul Kalamis Marina Hotel. Of note was manager Gökçe Müyesser, who made absolutely certain everything was in order and working in the most efficient manner possible. Even the slightest hint of an issue, Gökçe Müyesser would immediately address it. My only problem was I had no problems. And kudos to the concierge, who answered my myriad of questions and went out of their way to assist me in a cellphone problem. Taxis are available right out front - the staff will hail one for you and explain to the drivers where you'd like to go if necessary. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. The level of service, the professionalism, the care, the quality was evident throughout, and Gökçe Müyesser made sure of that. Two thumb up!

So this is our second time staying in this hotel ,went for a week stayed in the hotel 1 week with bed and breakfast their terrace menu is really good (despite the tissue come out from my salad but hey they took out from meal anyway )and cocktails is worth to try the waiters are really top notch , all I can say is well done. The only thing is put me on little struggle this hotel provides membership to the locals for the pools and other facilities so expect to see pool area always full as the weekends approaches we couldn't even find a tiny spot to relax but it was way too hot anyway so not that bothered , they to lots of conventions and weddings as well also before you book think about that if you like the marina area its perfect location with 10 min cab drive ( traffic included) you can go to near town Kadikoy and Moda for the quirky restaurants and bars or other cafes if you like to go to europe side of the Istanbul you can go to Taksim Besiktas with ferry which is a Turkish nostalgia crossing the Bosphorus and can see the maiden tower etc. Okay so be very careful istanbuls weather is really hot thats why there isnt many people on street in day time as you can expect a massive choker in the evening time on marina side and Cadde bostanci side. Anyway next question will I stay there again , hell yeah its the best hotel In the Istanbul asian side I can say from my experience.

super lux hotel with top notch service and accommodations. make sure you pay the extra few bucks for the breakfast... only issue is its distance to the tourist sites (which is a blessing and a curse) taxi will run you like 50-60 to the city, $100 to the airport {whats with the taxi drivers jacking you for round trip toll on bridge? ive traveled the globe and never seen this racket) if you wanna save some money you can take the shared cabs. just walk a few blocks up to baghdad st to go towards kadikow(the ferries to go to other parts) or on the return, they stop dead in front of the hotel-----make sure to check out the rooftop bar, pricey but worth it for a drink (or 3;)

Loved the rooms. Booked for 3 nights for the wedding of our son and daughter in law. Great breakfast and were immediately upgraded to the executive floor. Couldn't ask for better service.

Everything was well organized and the staff was helpful. We were satisfied with the quality of services and the interior design...

The hotel is located on the Asian side of Istanbul, close to Fenerbahce Club and Baghdad Street. The hotel features beauty and tranquility and offers a delicious breakfast which is recommended compared to its good price.

I travel to Istanbul several times a year and yet only discovered this gem of a hotel last month. It is immaculate. Beautifully presented and the staff couldnt do enough for me, especially the Manager, Mustafi Alpersan - very kind man. I cant fault this place and would recommend highly. Will be back again soon !
