Comfortable hotel to stay. The hotel is located a little bit far from a tram station. Staffs are very kind. Breakfast includes various foods and is delicious.

The hotel is in the process of being completely renovated. The staff was wonderful, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was on the roof so it had a spectacular view of the Bosporus. The neighborhood is touristy but it is within 10 minutes of lots of spectacular archeological sites. There are also lots of fun restaurants. One of the best places in our 3 week vacation.

Great hotel in a fantastic location for enjoying the Blue Mosque, Haja Sofia, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar. Clean, comfortable, very helpful staff, and the breakfasts on the rooftop were a perfect way to start the day. A bit noisy at night from the people on the street. Would return to this hotel in a heartbeat.

Nice hotel with good breakfast. Most tables have Marmara Sea view, but if you go around the side you can see the Blue Mosque. [...]I'd say if you pay a lot for this place you'll be diasppointed. Pay a reasonalbe rate, and you'll be reasonably satisfied. My value rating is useless if you don't know what I paid. The rooms are pleasantly decorated.

This hotel is located in Sultanamet, and quite convenient for visiting the Blue Mosque, Saint Sophia, Topkapi, the Basilica Cistern and the Grand Bazaar. The rooms are clean, with TV, safe, shower. There is a restaurant but no exercise facilities. The staff is friendly and helpful with tours. The hotel provides a shuttle to and from the airport.

We were in Istanbul for our vacation. Overall experience was good except the description that this hotel is a luxury hotel is far feteched.

They picked us up at the airport as we agreed for a fee. Staff was friendly, hotel was in excellent location. Staff members [...] and [...] handled our minor problems on time. Thank you for that. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

A good location to explore the old city. Clean rooms and helpful staff. Tap water is undrinkable and they charge for bottled water in the room. Guidebooks say that airport transport is free but it's not... it costs 30 euro each way

We called the hotel in advance to secure a double bed and were assured one would be saved for us. Not so. Throughout stay most of staff were uninterested and unhelpful. Only one staff member was even friendly. Room was small and temperature uncomfortable. The staff at reception said the air conditioning was turned off for the whole hotel; we later found that not to be true. Great location. Computer internet did not work - staff would not adress issue - just indifferent. Terrace for breakfast is beautiful and breakfast is plentiful. Appreciated historical background of hotel. No workout room or pool. Wouldn't have minded lack of amenities if overall hotel staff had been either helpful or friendly.

Great location near many attractions. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice. Would definitely stay there again.

We spent 7 days in Istanbul for our second anniversary. The location of the hotel was perfect, close to all the sights in Old Town. We never used public transportation and walked everywhere, which was a lovely way to see the city. We scheduled for the hotel to pick us up from the airport (free of charge) and that worked out perfectly (emailed hotel before trip). However, due to the disaster that is Turkish Airlines, we did not arrive in Istanbul with our luggage. The hotel was very accommodating and was able to provide my husband with a shaving kit and offered to get us deodorant. We ate breakfast every morning on the terrace and found this to be one of our favorite parts of the day. The view of the MarMara, Asia, Blue Mosque, and Hagia Sophia were beautiful at sunrise. The food was wonderful and they had good variety (although it was the same offering every day). We also ate dinner at the hotel restaurant on our first night and enjoyed that as well. The room was very clean and we had a nice view of the MarMara and the Blue Mosque. The shower didn't drain all that well, but this was overlooked by the fact that there was hot water with good pressure. We were quite jet-lagged most of the trip (went to bed at 8PM most nights), but never once was disturbed by street noise. We used the hotel car service to get back to the airport (25 Euro). There are cheaper options, but we didn't want to lug our suitcases over the cobblestone pavement to get there. The in room wi-fi wasn't that great. This might be due to the fact that we were on the 3rd floor, far a way from the hub. I had to sit in front of the door to our room to get decent reception. There was also a computer in the lobby that we could have used had we really needed the internet. There were many restaurant options near the hotel, in all price ranges. Overall, when we return to Istanbul, we would definitely choose to stay at the Obelisk again, however, if our only option to get there is Turkish Airlines, we might not return...

In a old ottoman building the rooms and plumbing are a bit dated, and the rooms are small. The roof top restaurant is a gem- with nightime views of the Blue Mosque, Aghia Sophia and the Golden Horn. All in all great value for travelers seeking a great location at a modest price.
